Nice pics Major! I'd let that girl run - she still has a good amount of leaves, and if she comes back strong she might be worth your while. That new member of the Flower Club sure is a greenie!
thankyou kind sir yes green and healthy she be shame other 2 where about same before i droped the PH to 5.8 but all is peachy. and i'm surprised on the outdoor 1's breeder said not suitable for outdoors i placed 7 outside in june i think but was way to hot by then upper 90's low 100's and climbing lol. hopefully 1/4 tsp per gal seaweed extract will help green both up some tonight
right on thx Pope heres what ive been upto today
i want a better clone ratio so i grabbed a 98 count flat of 1.5 inch rockwool cubes and talked w/my local hydro shop guy about my plans. he suggested this said was much better and what he uses
he said to soak it in PH'd water w/light dossage of my FF grow big 1/8 tsp per gal. pour this over the cubes im usen let soak 15 min and drain excess water from cubes and tray plant my cutting or plant seed. dose this sound about right for these rapid rooter plugs, of course the plugs i dont use go into large ziplock baggie . i do plan to trim the bonsai mum tomarrow and place cuttings in the plugs ifn duder told me proper
ok picked up 20 1 gal grow bags thier little taller then a 2 liter soda bottle 1st up 2 clones rdy for transplant they've neeb in the 3x3x3's for about 14 days
rootmass on both
happy in there new home i'll veg 1wk and into the cab next fridaynight
next set i'll veg for 2wk, i wish to compare the results from 1wk - 2wk veg height and yield this will better help me configure my SOG
whoot till next wk
oh yea the PH'd damaged LST'd girl seems to be ok no new damage phew and it rained all day yesterday and most of the night outside girls loved it hasnt rained like that since spring lol. 1/4inch spread out the whole day and night
I use similar things to root my clones, just a different brand. I place cuttings in a cup of water for 24 hours then i get something to make sure the whole in the plug is open enough that you dont damage the stem on the way in, i then make sure the plugs are moist enough by dunking them in water and giving them a little squueze to absorb and a little squueze to let out any excess water (just enough to keep them wet without dripping) then then i pop the clones in, spray with some water and rizotonic and place in humidity dome.
I also use these for my seeds and they are excellent, i am sure you will be a big fan of them.
Peace
thankyou so very much TC i'll get on this l8r this afternoon have other things to do, kool i'll take 20-25 cuttings from my bonsai mum. she's very overgrowen he he never trimmed today will be her 1st i dont have a humid dome so hopefully my clone ratio live/dead will be better. from what ive been reading i take fricken trees for clones lmao so instead of the normal 5-6 nodes i'll take 1 good set of leaves and the growth shoot w/about 2 inch of stem to include 1 node for below soil level l8r. guess with so large of a cutting the cut has to consinterate on keeping everything alive and not produce roots as fast as a smaller cut would produce roots fingers crossed lol gotta get this clone thing down so i can run more then 1 strain
although everything except 1 outside is from clone so i have kinda a handel on it lol
I personaly root clones in RW cubes, but I have used soil plugs in the commercial greenhouses I have worked in. There we normaly setup rooting plugs or pots the daye before use, soak em and cover em in platic to keep the water form vaporice as much. Then we would place cuttings about 12 hours after watering the plugs, after the clones have been placed a humidit dome is placed over em. (we used clear platic sheets)
At home I use a hard PVC dome so the clones won't be bended over, unless the clonetray is high enough I just use plastic too.
I remove the dome after the first week, but remove it every day for a min and give em fresh air. Mist em if they seem like they need it, I do this every 2-3 days the first week. After I remove the dome I folia spray em about 2 times the following week, this normaly give me 95-100% rooting in 2 weeks time.
Here is a tray I put over 2 weeks ago, they have all rooted as far as I can tell and they are all looking great. This tray look's like it got a 100% rooting rate!
SO if you just take good clones, from stong mothers all u really got to do is keep em moist and plenty of fresh air. Not to much light as thats not good for rooting, but from the look at your already rooted plug it looks like you got it right already.
Major I have used rapid rooters for a few years now and they work great. You can soak them in water, but I don't. When you open the pack you will see that they are moist. Pour some water over them and get them wet. Squeeze the excess water out of them . take a small screw driver or ice pick and push it threw the hole and wiggle it around to make room for your cut to fit in until the cut is sticking out the bottom.
I don't use any ferts on my clones at all , just cloning gel. I water with plain PHd water. The cubes have everything your clones will need until they root.
thx all yes HN i rememebr many things lol esp my ANNAVERSARY lmao wifey would have me good if i forgot that.
thx GCG this friday when i move the 2 clones in 1gal bags into flower i'll trim the bonsai and use the starter plugs. although if my nephew gets over here i'll have 3 germed Grape Crush gremed seed to put into the plugs today he he. of the 7 he has 3 where cracked but still poped tarpits so to me they come whoot yeaaaaaa
well congrats on the crush...that should be a very nice addition for you. im lookin forward to seein them. hope all is well on your side of things....keep doin what your doin.
Grape Crush - hmmm - I remember Orange Crush, but I couldn't smoke it . Congrats on another strain score Major. Will be keeping an eye on these young ones.
Outdoor girls looking yummy - I've always liked a long limbed gal in full sunlight!
thx all yes i am pumped about the new addition to the garden he he prayn for all girls then i'll take few clones form strongest to become bonsai mum's and flower the girls out
the shack is simply wonderfull frosty grown nicely inside and outside now . right now everything is spaced out for harvesting 1-2wk intervals gonna trim the bonsai tonight get the plugs ready for them and pray lol. gonna take 20 what seems nice cuttings from top, then thin out the bottom half of the plant. i'll take the weakest lookers and leave the stronger growths. just kickn back enjoying my work so far given them lotsa love good vibes and energy only allowed around my Girls
hopefully these 3 grape crush sprout then i'll have 2 strains to work with, although i'm also gonna plant most of my very very old humboldt genitics i have left. i'm searching for another Purple minty smelln during veg and you know its skunk bud grown during flower girl for a mum. i have approx 90-100 good seed left and i should achieve 40-50% grem/sprout ratio for the age of the seed. ppl can say BS my seed saved from 1988-98 is not good but soon i prove wrong lmao yepper soon ppl in humboldt who lost these genitics will be a drooling. man there was some good skunk bud coming outta there back then but now my plate is kinda full w/sugar shack and hopefully grape crush
