thanks for that! you should look into getting a stronger soil mix and i think you pulled them to early but all is well for the first grow.

Hi bajan, nice of you to visit my thread again.

When you say stronger soil mix, you mean that I should amend my soil, right? I really haven't read a lot about doing that, or at least I didn't remember what I read, hehe. Got some pointers for a wannabe?
I was actually really happy with the soil I had. It seemed to work very well. Unfortunately I wasn't able to water them with nutrients as much as I would've liked, and that will be true this year too. With that in mind it makes perfect sense to amend the soil, but I'm skeptical still. It will add an extra cost, plus I'm gonna have like 1500l of soil... Which will be a bitch to mix up, hehe.

Definitely pulled 'em too early... But the weather was fucked. I lost maybe 10% to mold. My main concern was the hunting season beginning, though. Luckily that won't be a problem in the future because they don't hunt on the mountain itself, I've learned. Hopefully I can harvest a lot earlier this year, too.

Thing is that our climate here is polar, the frostbite gets em in the late summer and mold is also an issue. Though i think last year had most to do about the weather, i let mine go to about 20th of sept and they still werent ready. Rain really pissed down at us last season and at my latitude there were four weeks tops of direct sunlight, the thing is you need to be quick outside in late mars/ early april and hope mother nature give you the sun we need. Dont matter how good soilmix or how good spot you have when its raining for a larger portion of the short season.

peace

That's very true. And when it wasn't raining, it was overcast... Very bad summer overall. It started late and ended early.
I looked at a map (@smhi.se for you Swedes out there) which showed how much the temperatures differed 2012 compared to an average year. It was quite enlightening. Most of the days were at least 2-3C colder than usual.

If we have nicer weather this year I hope to be able to plant around May 20th. Last year there was still snow in the forests around that time where I live.

Heh... Maybe my problem is that I'm comparing myself to guys like you with like 10lb plants. :p I wouldn't consider it a success, but it wasn't a failure either. At least I'm still free to roam the streets.

I would like to be able to keep the numbers reasonable, but with an average of 3-4g per plant it's hard not to ponder upping the number of plants. Granted, my strain choice was questionable at best, I think I can easily double that, but I'll still need at least a hundred the way I see it.

Thanks for dropping by mendo!

To me AK47s/Lowryders are way overpriced in Scandinavium just because its not much else what works, especially when you want hundred + it gets expensive.

.... told me about cannaseeds.dk wich can give us reasonable pricing for f1 autos of different types of crosses, check it out. Peace :)

Sound like you have to plan real good to hit that sweet spot, (hope you keeped notes) Can you do any indoor?

So when is the earliest you can put out? and how long do you have outside?

Yeah, the climate puts very big limits on me. I'm definitely keeping notes, in a year or two I could probably write a book, hehe.
I can't do any indoor, no. You were thinking about seed production? That seed bank opiumo mentioned has awesome prices, which renders seed production kind of unnecessary for me.

I don't really know. If the climate is optimal, I might be able to plant mid-May. More realistically I'm looking at the end of May. My season ends sometime in September. I pushed those last plants until the 24th, and you can (somewhat, shitty pictures I know) see the result of that. The sweet spot is probably around the 15th, but I would expect at least 10-15% mold since September is quite a bit colder than August, plus it's very damp and rainy.
