Today is day 7 and as of 2 days ago they have 1/4" nubs!!!

Question: I plan to put these into B'cuzz Bounce coco. First time trying coco and I am unsure about how to put them in and if the coco will support it? I am coming from soil and feel with soil I could pack the soil to hold it up while it took root. Since I know next to nothing yet about coco I would appreciate it if anyone can offer a plan of attack.

Thanks Lougrew!

Is there a specific pH that you use in your bubble cloner? Sorry if this question has been asked already...

Nope!!

Just your tap water or bottled water is fine!
Good clean water is key, drinking water, spring water....

Thanks lou. took 4 cuttings now have 4 clones.Took a little longer than a week, but i believe that was due to temps. got a heating mat today, gonna try to get it right. again thanks for your help.

Cool saintgr8one!!!!

Glad to be of service, and help to all.....

TIp folks,if it gets to cold try dome and rockwools.
Plus the mold is kept at bay much much better cold...
With domes its a warmer enviroment for cellular activity!!
WHen cellular activity slows to much you have to warm them up..
im getting slower clones too now that its colder??..no biggy.
Take your light a bit closer to warm them, and get cellular activity up!
:wave:or use the heating pads an towels to regulate temps in bubblers.

I use a similar technique. I get a cup full of plain tap water, put foil over it, and poke my clones through. No air stone or nuthin' and get about a 75% success rate. Just take two clones off each plant and you're in the clear :jump:

to go w/ rockwool, you need chemicals, right? not a prob but tap water is cheaper, which is what counts. quick question, what do u do different for rockwool? Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but i've tried w/ rw-no success. with your way i am 4 for 4 so far and hopefeuuly that will change in about 5 more days. hopefully the mat will help, i'll let u know. thanks

DOme tek..

Dome cloning i usually do when its to hot??
Just take cuttings and dip in some root hormone
stick in cubes and spray the dome with water good!
Results are not as good maybe 60 to 80% clone rates??

Rot is a HUGE problem in heat with domes though???
Next time its hot as hell im sticking to bubbler with ice
see how that works in extreme heat......
YOu gotta find your nitch with both teks!

frozen water bottles for the win when it is hot, i just take a 16 oz poland spring bottle and toss it in, keeps the temps down for while, then just pull that one out and put a new one in every 12 hours or so. did that with my dwc for a while to keep the rot away. good luck

Ok, well I have to give this a shot for sure. I tried this about 3 years ago, but the method I followed did not work. It was in plastic, and you kept the cuttings under just a reg. old closet light, and you used 6 inch stones. Well the heck with that method, 3 weeks and noth'n.
So to sum it up.
1. Metal pot filled with water about 6 inches high.
2. 4 inch air stone with pump.
3. Tin foil.
4. Cuttings about 4 inches tall from 3 week old branches placed 1 inch into water
5. 27 watt cfl about 6 inches above cuttings, 24/0.
6. Temps around 75. Now here's a question for ya lou. My house is about 68 degrees which means that the water will be that temp give or take based on room. Should I get a heat mat?
Thanks Lou

the closet light may not have worked if it was an incandesent bulb as opposed to a flouresent, incandesent bulbs dont give out shit for useable light. might be why it never worked.

YUP,you got it endo!

You need the right kind of power supplied to clones.

WEll,good to see more folks giving this a go and about temps?
Maybe get a heating pad if it drops below 60 degrees, but my room
is a t 60 right now and up to 68 degrees with my clones a bit slower
but alive and ready to root soon!!!
You should be good,i dropped my CFL to 4 inches away to help from 6 inches!
The added power warms them and gives them an extra boost to root.........
All that matters is tweeking them out and the cloner is good to go!!!!!!!
Good luck,greenisgold!!

Do you think these clones will work in a DWC? I normally use rockwool cubes but do you think the plants can support themselves if I just put them a few inches in the hydroton?

On my 4rth round of clones!

Had a good slow up do to cold weather, room at 60???
To cold folks you must get them up to 70's at least!

Hey simpleword,im not to shure how the hydrotron looks?
Got a pic,or can you tell me what how its made??
DWC was actually my first cloner method a 15 gallon tub haha!!
SHure it may work but get the light just right and temps ok...

Sorry lougrew, I guess I worded that a little wrong. I meant after the clones have been rooted in your cloner, would it be ok to put them directly in hydroton (clay balls) in my DWC as opposed to being in a rockwool cube in the hydoton? Free floating if you will.

Thanks!

They'll do great that way tho.....btw about the clone thing, the closer you can keep the temps between 75 and 80 the quicker they'll pop. Thanks fer sharin yer method Lou many will learn from this thread,ta me that's what it's all about.Happy Thanksgiving!
