What would be a good way of making this a little more stealth?
I love the method but I dont like the idea of just having a metal pot sitting down on the floor in my basement with little pot plants sticking out of it. And I really dont like the idea of having a CFL beaming light all over hell leading people to the pot sitting on my basement floor with a bunch of maryjane growing out of it.
As long as the metal pot was sitting on the bare basement floor could you cover it and the CFL with a rubbermaid tub or something that has proper ventilation without having to worry about the water temp rising to high. Seems like a rubbermaid tub, a PC fan, and a light trapped passive intake might be worth a try.
Cant believe this is still going good folks!
Glad to help, but please read in here a bit??
HAve said NO fans ounce and YES you can make
clones from flowering plants!!!! look back there!
(fans just dry them up no need CFL's are cool)
(did some clones a few pages back with flowers on them)
White hairs comming out in full throddle, but still cloned'em!!
AGain i just made clones from FULLY DONE BUDDED PLANTS!
2 of the SD x OG bx1's#3 clone a KILLER selection madddly resiny!!
My chem's have roots 2 are in pots haha it was COLD but they made it..
will admit they struggled and 3 out of 5 are still in the bubbler??
WHen temps are cold you will see a bit of leave curle,yellowing/browning
and a bit of leaf rot maybe around 60 degrees, that is your max low....
Max high would be 80 degrees to 85 no higher or rot sets in fast.........
The whole thing about the metal pot sitting on the floor was in HOT weather?
Also dont worry if you stick the clones in threw the tin and they fall sideways.
They will bend towards the light all by them selves, just dont let them dry....
Glad you folks like this easy assed getto tek,go for it!!!
Be back..
Lou...nice tutorial, I'm going to give it a try. I was going to go directly into soil, but I want to know for sure that my clones root before. That being said...how do you get those long roots into soil? I plan on using Dixie cups to start with so do I just fill the bottom with a little soil and then put the clone in and fill the rest of the way? Do I have to be real careful not to bunch the roots up in the soil? And lastly, do I water after I transplant them, if so how much do I water?
i pm'ed him 3 + days ago with no response, no problem i got my Q answered. he's probaly away..
but i gave this method a shot and i got to say it works wonderfully!!!!! i had two clones that where dying.... then i got a double outlet pump with 2 4in air stones in a 1gal ice cream container (yes, its plastic) and the got rigid and sturdy within an hour or so.... THEY WHERE LAYING COMPELETELY FLAT FOR 2 DAYS... no matter what i did they wouldnt stand up/absorb water... but with lous method i will have roots within 6 days!!! thanks
btw DND- to help answer your question i am sure if u put a little dirt in first then hold the plant at the height you want in and carefully fill in dirt around it... bottom line is they are weeds and will grow like mad unless you F somethin up =)
DND FIll your cup up all the way. use your fingers (three of them) and make yourself a hole. take the clone and put it in the dirt, just making sure the whole root system is in the dirt. The trick is that you want your roots as close to the top as possible, that way they get the most room to grow in.
I have had two great success using lous method i am 100 percent on two tries and the first time was on flowering plants. Althought my buddies cant seem to get it to work two diff ones keep messing it up.lol they are like what are we doing wrong and im like i dunno but if u cant figure out this method there is somethign wrong with ya lol. neways this is the easiest way of cloning i have ever seen and my only successful attempts at cloning have came from this, as far as tranplanting in dirt they will be fine just stick them in there, and if you let them go a few extra days the roots are stong enough to put just straight into hydrotron.
I am working on my 4th round w/ this shit and i have had 100% success, right now 3 of 5 have started to root. Soo cool! On a less enthusiastic note all the clones from the first 3 runs were hermie. Very sad.
I have taken cuts 5 weeks in flower b4 and have not one problem.
I get 100% with my bubble cloner, just filled it 2 days ago 32 cascadia x trainwreck clones
Bubble cloners r the way forward,
no hormone
no spray
no propagator
i use just water straight from the tap!!
and i never even change it
i use 1 foot air stone in my cloner, just becuase i got them on sale for $.67 each Mine works fine, i have a pretty big air pump. i knew my ols fich aquarium hobby pay off one day!!!
I have setup my own pot and have 2 test Kali Mist clones going at the moment just checked the pot for the first time since I cut them Wednesday and one is starting to show some small root nubs coming off of it so that is a good sign at day 5 of bubbling seeing as it takes 7-10 days usually to really show roots depending on strain. Great easy method and I am glad someone brought it to my attention, can't believe I didn't think of it myself. Thanks Lou!!!
well at 7 days I got no roots, I have the water temp at 74 degrees, the 42 watt cfl is like 6 inches from the tops and they get 3 hours of darkness every day. Not sure if it is just my strain, it is Kali Mist by the way. I am going to wait another week but I really thought I would see some roots by now. ???? Anyone have any suggestions????
well I checked today at day 9 I got inch long roots on almost all my clones so good to go, must just take longer to root and I altered the conditions a bit and got it dialed in I think.
