Thanks W. Its feels good to see the payoff when you drop all the bullshit, study and actually get into plant science. An eye opener for sure.

Sure is mate, cant believe how easy and maintenance free my babies are... although I kinda miss all the work that came with my hydro as it kept me busy I will never turn back..fuck that

Check this guy out....rolls in here READS the thread,GETS it,asks questions, and blammo.....it's really as easy as that.

Now it's just a matter of the right cultivar and gardening.

As the living soil cycles rolls on it, it seems to get better and better.
Had a fellow gardner come by and the look on his face when he looked at my shit was priceless... Was even more priceless when I told him I use aloe/si/neem for basic IPM. He knew of the troubles I had in the past and couldn't believe the simple techniques I use to stay trouble free.
I will get him to convert. He is willing to try a couple of ROLS grows. My next step is to get him to read this damn thread!!!

Somewhere around 4 years ago Jakush said,"welcome to real living soil,it just get's better and better"...and 4 years later it has not failed to continue to get better and better in my garden. Constant advances here as a group have driven the ease and quality of my garden to new levels..... prior to what we as consumers we're being sold as cannabis growers which only created problems....look at the forums, filled with issues associated with cal/mag,etc..

Real living soil is the way to grow any plant IMO..

Looks good Neo...I'd smoke it!

Biochar

Biochar

Hi all,

Those plants look great Neo! I wish I could smell all these pics! My wife looks at me weird when I start sniffing my phone screen....

Anyway, could I use biochar as my only aeration amendment? I have so much of it, at all different sizes anywhere from pea sized to golf ball sized and everything in between, all charged. I don't want to use perlite if i don't have to. Pumice is kinda hard to source where I am, same as lava rock.

I have everything else i need to start mixing my soil and just wanted to ask all my teachers here in this thread.

Thanks again for sharing all this great information and making the weed world a better place.

Too easy for it to work, right?

When spring comes you'll have other plants to work with - Mints in particular. These do better (IMHO) in a container because you can control their spread - these are truly weeds for the most part. Lemon Balm is one of the worst for spreading but one of the best to make foliar sprays so use containers. VOE

This one doesn't require a container and it's a powerful fungicide from its Camphor content - Holy Basil (Tulsi) and it is to the Basil plants as the wolf is to domesticated dogs. It's the original Basil from very ancient beginnings, i.e. a few thousand years.

The more direct Basil decedents from Southeast Asia that you find at Thai & Vietnamese food markets have retained the structure, color but with a milder flavor but you can see the family resemblance.

Epasote (aka Epazote) isn't a Mint but it is a pesticide and its group of compounds were created synthetically for the commercial insecticide Requiem

True Peppermint, Spearmint, Cilantro, Lavender, Thyme, Rosemary (big time) are all Mints and share a base of compounds with each having individual ones that make Cilantro taste different than Peppermint but the frameworks are very close.

Veganically speaking of course......

I went back to the magazine link you gave me and looked around for an hour or so. I found an ad for a web site called something like Leafly.com where you enter a city and the MMJ clinics come up. So I looked around this area and I really struck pay-dirt. One of the local operations is a franchise connected to Jennifer and they sell her seeds and clones (when available).

I have some very nice choices to pick from - Pit Bull (not associated with Rez), Berkeley Blues, Crippler, Sugar Plum, Haze Plum, Purpit and several others. With a membership card ($30.00 per month) I can buy any of these seeds for only $45.00 each - that's all!

A clone from a mother plant which was hand-picked by Jennifer herself, rooted in a 4" cup is only $100.00 but there is a discount if you buy a 6-pack.

Time to step-up my game and go for broke - literally

Do they finance?
I'll take out a second mortgage for those sweet deals!
Jennifer sounds like she needs a bong upside the head.

Her famous 38-day equatorial sativa is a bit more though. But look what you get - a 38-day sativa!

We can thank Ed R. for promoting this silliness from her. Her potting soil recipe is also the stuff of legends.

That's the update from Drip City

You forgot the feather meal and the dried chicken manure - not composted, just dried

Her 'soilless base' is simply Sunshine Mix #4 at 2.3x the price you would pay at 'the store' and I'm not talking about buying SPM & Perlite and making your own - I'm talking about buying bales of this specific mix.

All for 'the community' and everything......

It's just off-the-shelf Sunshine Mix #4 which is Formulated with Canadian Sphagnum peat moss, coarse Perlite, starter nutrient charge (with Gypsum) and Dolomitic Limestone

The Nutrient Pack is the same deal - a bagged mix you could buy almost anywhere for about $20.00 for 50 lbs. - nothing unique or special at all except for the poor choices it includes.

Big mystery......

Hmmmm,I don't know Coot...

I think chicken feathers feel funny when I touch them...so I don't like using them in my soil mix. Goose feathers are much more ergonomic and people have been using them for hundreds of years.....why should I not trust my better judgement here...forget you!

That's a pretty big scam she's got going. I don't see how genuine members of any legitimate cannabis community would accept that...but then again, look at what we deal with here.

Predators, victimizing elderly people, the misinformed, and no doubt terminally ill patients.

That's a pretty street hustler ghetto way....tweeker stuff.

Really just taking advantage of misinformed people that don't have any horticultural background,or that are just are not familiar w/cannabis enough to bring it to fruition through cycles.

Seriously sounds like something hatched after a long night @ the strip club ploppin dollar bills in undies...... dropping off said 'Stoney Girl' uncle Ed come up for a drink and a few rails to discuss the hair-brained venture until 4:am when Ed shows her his wee wee and she kicks him out...

That's the part that is untenable to me. If they can rip-off a wannabe canna-ganster then I have no problem with that at all. Pay your dues and all of that - no one has ever claimed that education is free or even cheap.

But when you have a couple of the local compassionate groups pushing her seeds, clones and especially this junk soil that's where someone should draw a line in the sand.

No sense of integrity at all by her or these clinics that have their hands out for money and nothing else. It's pretty sad all the way around.

Well....hopefully our cranky old thread here will enlighten people to the roles they get stuck in as consumers and that there is actually a way out that is simple, cost effective, safer, environmentally friendlier, and produces higher quality medicine.

"The absolute finest from the Northwest"....from my garden anyway~
