CBF,... fruity, mango, papaya?? That doesnt look to taste like pure haze wich is Pine, Piney, Pine cone, spicy, sweet and sour. I start having doubt on TomHill pure haze about purity.

I dunno bro, dont think il be doggin any of TomHills offerins anytime soon, LOL

and your the first I have heard that says haze tastes like pine or any piney taste??????

spicey, earthen. incence, sweet, actually undescribable just haze. Im no Haze guru, but have sampled a few different haze offerins(OGbub plant above was one)not a one was piney.

Amen, TomHill dosent play with bogus genetics.
Cant say that Ive yet encounterd a piney Haze either.. Ive been growing a Haze group for a few years, that originated in California, before my cultivation time...
Ive concentrated my efforts on breeding within what I knnow as the Colombian phenotype, or "purple haze".

But I do love me some piney pot!
Purple pineberry, Peak 19, some NL Hybrids, all left a piney taste in ma mouth.
But yeah, Haze is in its own.. you just KNOW a Haze. (in my exp.)

keep in mind some charachteristics of a line can be more observed in a Hybrid offspring, than IB...
Perhaps somewhat explaining a trait expressed by a hybrid (given pheno), yet not, or less by either parent.

Peace folks.

Hola TAG, same here bro, and id be up for some inputs on what haze is like for other growers as well.

the purp pheno I had from Toms seed , while not as potent as the green plant, it did have a hashy earthen, dark berry tone to the smoke. like any seedline your gonna get different plants, and in the haze quite a bit more diversity.

the piney plant may very well be the pheno to look for in a haze i dunno. from what I know the Haze taste and aromas are unmistakable, and hard to describe.

I enjoy piney bud as well, prolly why I like the wreck so much. its all good shit:D

Hi everyone,
Nice thread!
Hola CBF!!
Tom bought the Haze when at Positronics, the end of 93 or 94....and said that from all the genetics he bought in Amsterdam, the Haze is the only one he included in his breeding program :yummy:

Thought I'd bump this one. Hazes are an interesting subject.

no doubt Zamalito, its one of my favorites, had been on this thread, and good to see it back up front.

have a small test run of TomHills haze goin now, this run is from the generation we did with it. beautiful plants. lookin for the purple plants, used a purple and a green male in this gen.

have one girl been holdin for a bit, its a lime plant. still have some original beans from Tom, and good buddy has aquired some of the dutchmans offerin for me. so im happy grower with the haze offerins i grow.

would like to get hold of some of OT1s offerin thats around. have wolfmans C99 cross to try, but yeah, some of that old haze would be nice to look over.

Man I just cloned a haze plant I have outdoors, it was bagseed from some "really good haze" a friend gave me years ago. I've had her since. I can't get rid of her, even tho she flowers so long and I think I will never grow her indoors again (I always have a couple in the mix), she gets compliments from everyone who smokes her. The sandalwood incense smell fills the room and no smoke smells so nice, even non smokers have complimented the smoke's aroma.
This haze turns almost red when cured tho with very fluffy hairs, I've smoked Thai hazes that are green and fruitier and some like last night that a friend grows (SuperFunk Haze) that was fruity, but so smooth and really reminded me of SSH, I'm guessing it was a local hybrid of SSHXFunk? Anyway, hazes are amazing both in smell, high and looks thanks for bumping the thread

¡Buenas!

Here's some Nevil's haze I grew a while back. It was a typical indica phenotype, formed rock-hard and potent buds and finished in about 11 weeks under a single 200W CFL, producing relatively very good yields. Didn't grow a lot in length during flower. It had a very stong smell of haze-spicyness (got me into an argument with the neighbours actually) but the smoke was very indica like, expanding very strongly. Effects were a mix of high and body-stone. I got the clones from a buddy who got the mothers from someone else, who in his turn probably grew them from a bag of Sensi's White Label seeds.

Don't know if there are any Nevil growers in the house, but I wonder if this could have been an extreme NL trait or if it might have been something else. I'd like to stress that the smell was totally haze! No doubt about that, but I would like to know if any experienced Nevil growers ever came across the same sort of phenotype before. It's a bleedin' shame btw that the motherplants of my clones were lost... I had some 'famous' people from the cannabis-scene have a look at the buds on last years Highlife-fair and they were all very curious about it. Thanx in advance for any replies. :bandit:

I hope hothouse flowers will show up. He's been working with some old haze lines.

Hi All,

Yes, well..i am working with some old Haze lines. [Not that they need any work what so ever, just safely maintaining/preserving just as they are, our forefathers have done all the work that was necassary] Or they are working with me, not sure as yet which it is. She is so beutifull and enticing, I think it may be her leading me for sure. Made me move countries to somewhere I could even grow her correctly. She is the precious one, the el primo. Above all others.

Sam has said all there really is to be said about the Hazes and the subject is basically exhausted untill he clarifies and documents the extent of the Haze brothers works and the development timelines. He may well never do this, preffering to leave us all guessing. Untill then I feel there isnt much to add to the existing on line documentation and speculations on this strain that hasnt been said before a thousand times. Besides, this strain comes from a different time, different era and its not for arguing about, just for loving, its a gift.

It is a shame though we cannot get the bottom line, as the Cultivar is such a widely used part of the modern Drug Cultivar Pool, and we dont have much of a clue to what it comprises off, but im not sure Sam does for sure either.

Personally I am not that bothered at all about what it comprises off, as she makes one so happy why would one care. I would just love to hear the story of how this incredible variety came to be, how they actually managed to create something that special, that beutifull with such incredible diversity of phenotypical expression that are all wonderfull in their own ways.

I feel there is just is so much we dont know, even more we dont do and the creators of these early strains certainly did. From what I have seen with this old Haze line, is that those early pioneer breeders where a long way ahead of where we are now in the creation of modern Hybrids. We have a lot still I feel to learn.

All the best, Flowers

I am very interested in growing Haze! I don't think I've ever had it but I am starting some Legends "Johnny Blaze" which is HazeXBlueberry and next year I would love to try to grow some "pure" Haze and see how they do down here.

Thank you very much sir and I hope to take you up on that most gracious offer. I got to see what this "Haze" is all about. I do have a plant in pre flower now thats a NLXHaze from Nirvana. She is still pretty small but it is the "rainy" season so I hope she gets bigger with more sunlight during the next few months. The plant looks and grows like some of the local sativa.

Thanks again HHF, what type of Haze would you like to see grown here (altitude 2,700m) and how are they with cold because in never gets over 70f and nights drop into the lower 40sf?
Peace from Colombia

Hey brother, just to remind you, Johnny Blaze is Neville's Haze x Blueberry, not pure haze:). You're going to love it bro. I can't wait to see you do them where you are at.

That looks like a Haze pheno of NL5/Haze you have there Red and very nice too. I really liked Nirvana's NL5/Haze, Jack Herer and Super Silver Haze are related, the Nirvana strain is a good cheap alternative imho.

I made a tiny handful of Columbian Gold x Neville's Haze beans that I will try one day, they look a little bit pale to me though.

Only one way to find out Hempire, sow a couple of those babies. Man, the possible outcome of that cross could be seriously mind-expanding. Peace

I am very excited about the Blaze seeds and I know its not pure haze but I hope to get close. Yours always look good TORC I can't wait to get em going, their germing now getting ready for that Colombian sunshine (soon as it stops raining).

British_Hempire you have got to grow some of that cross! You just gave me some ideas. I like the NLXHaze (nirvana) plant I have and hope she gives me an idea what "Haze" is all about.
Peace
