Dion how's everything goin? So I said I would let you know what I come up with and I have figured out the space situation, gonna go for 2x4x5 tent. Wanting vero 18 6-3000k 2-5000k, with the 10" profile heatsinkusa sink that's 2' long and put all on the one heatsink but I have an ac infinity dual 120mm fan with a thermostat control I wanted to mount to it. Finally gonna say screw it and go with 2 meanwell dimmable drivers pretty sure I can get 4 on each. Haven't sourced all the stuff yet but have a few things picked I'll see if I can link them.

Well what do you think?

After considering the kind of plants I'll grow(2 spread canopy clones + 1-3 seed plants in natural shape) it was the only practical option. A fixed frame would be great for a more even canopy, now I have more height variation and possibility of light height control for each part of the tent which is great. But the design is not safe in this stage, so I'll redesign it in the future for safety and practicallity.

Cheers

http://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1-8A-...for-LED-strip-3528-5050-power/1932332304.html

but i'm not really certain that a solder joint has not failed. It's a mess in the chassis.

sorry to hear your trouble buddy

i actually posted(some pages back somewhere) that i had rdered from that store and had to open a dispute because the drivers never showed

after u check ur connections(do u have a multimeter or a led meter?)

after u check ur connections if its really the driver lets boycott that store completely

you can now order from meanwell's site in the EU FYI so if u do replace the drivers have a poke around there

anything i can do to help?

hey good mate, urself?

digi key links dont work(its so shit but you cant link if u are logged in or even have anything in your cart)

but anyway the tent is a 2x 4?!?! going for the big comercial grow i see( well compared to my grow anyway lol)

so i dunno if 8 vero 18 cobs are gonna cut it in there

i can run the numbers for ya but it will be too low i know already

perhaps consider revising the strategy?

Maybe he's talking in feet.. And then he gets good values with 8 x vero 18.
If those were meters.. Height being 5 sounds kinda off for that footprint.

what do you consider 'good' values?

Anyhere around 400w/ sq meter or above that I'd say.
2 x 4 ft would mean right under 1 sq meter.
I'm not saying he would't get better results with 12 cobs rather than 8, that would be a more efficient use of that space, but he can grow good weed with 8 of those as well IMO.

you mean electrical watts?

even at 1050mA the vero 18 are only 39% efficient

and in that space that is only 563ppfd too low i think

You are right. I did not checked the efficiency on those. I based my calculations on 50w per each cob. That would be around 35% eff. from what i can see in that table. Still not bad for the money they cost.

Planning to make a 6x Cree CXB3070 LED for my 2x4x5 (feet) tent, figure should get decent results although a bit pricier than (8) Vero 18's (probably $100 more or so).

Ive been pretty good just been racking my brains out lol.Well hell lol I can prob go 2x3 but don't wanna cut myself too short. And no commercial here just personal but I don't want to have to have a continuous cycle goin maybe 2 cycles a year and have plenty of goods for me and the wife. Just want plenty of room for bout 4 good scrogged girls that will have plenty of goodies on them. How many 18's would you think for a 2x4 or 2x3, how short was i on my figures lol?

You can grow just fine with the Vero 18's in that area, just gotta keep in mind penetration probably won't allow you to use the full height.

the vero 13 and vero 18 are the same price per par watt at 40% eff just it will cost u more in drivers with better spread with the vero 13

you could do 2 HLG-185H-C1050 with 12 vero 18s 6 on each

thats around 845ppfd in that space

EDIT: I WENT digging back threw this thread trying to find ur goals and now my head is spinning budget was ur limitation right?

go for 8 vero18s 1 per sq ft(great spread) and drive them at like 1400-1800mA and be done( use the biggest pc coolers you can get though so in about 4 years u can upgrade the cobs and expand the garden without buying any thing else)

My bad I meant 12, but since seeing dion's edit that I can do 8 And be ok the question was would a 10"x24" heatsinkusa sink work with 8 cobs on it and it will have 2 120mm ac infinity cabinet cooling fans with a thermostat and speed control attached to it? Sry for the confusion just like the idea of one bigger heatsink
