We had a couple weeks of -40f recently and not a single electric car was working..........it was a hard dose of reality for a great many owners.
Some day it will be where it will be workable in the real world...........just like led lights for growing.
😝

Because it never gets cold in Norway, Iceland (ICE-FUCKING-LAND), Sweden, Denmark, Finland etc.

I consider hps like silk coated lighting for plants, it's difficult to fk it up and plants love it.

Led is a bit harsh and unforgiving imo, I'm not saying it's bad it just requires a more delicate approach I found.

Tbf I've never bleached a plant with hid so in the past i have wondered about the quality of led light over the quantity.

Yes but the environment don't determine which genetic traits you carry or not ;)
And that's the point.
Something from nothing ? Doesn't exist, only in textbooks, only in theory.

HPS is truly plug and play, and a cheap one.
Heat is your friend and enemy with HIDs,
If I were in a very hot region all year round I don't think I could have grow with them.

With parabolic reflectors it's very hard to burn plants as you are just noticing common sense, heat burns, not light.
LEDs are a beast when given the conditions, most hobby growers don't know or can't maintain the conditions to support what this light system needs at all times.

all i know is this, this is me, it is just my opinion, so it doesn't matter, i am nobody

i started growing in 1976 outside, by 78 i was inside hps of course

5 or 6 years ago, i switched to led, never shall i return to hps which is collecting a lot of dust, but keeping in case of emergency

when they can make a half way decent cell phone battery, maybe a 100 years later than get get the electric car going, but i doubt it.

North Carolina just pissed off a lot of taxpayers

they bought 5 electric buses at millions yes millions of dollars of taxpayer's money, this was 3 years ago

only 3 of them kinda work

google it great article

You are delusional if you think a novice can grow better weed with a led than a non novice with HPS. LED is harder to dial in.
That's not what I've written.
I'm saying that newbies, since 2020, are getting better flowers than newbies in previous years. Thanks mainly to the new LEDs.

I've seen it with my own eyes for the last 10 years, spent working in a cannabis club: over the last 3 years the probability of a novice came out of nowhere with good quality indoor flowers has multiplied x2.

Your confusing government subsididised sales propaganda for facts.
Even when sugar coating it on the msm the fact remains.

I feel for me and a lot of my smoking friends it has been the opposite here.
In the last 10 years before leds conquer the scene, 90% of what I bought in the street was fire...
Now I just skip it all, it's all mids.
Finally found some nice outdoor bud, made oil outta it, cost pennies and better than any led/hps grown here
I don't know how to explain it, the distance between what some people feel about this subject to other people is elusive to me.

They're almost giving them away now.
A couple of nights back I seen brand new, brand name dimmable ballasts for £22

Yes they're a plug and play right enough, light and heat for 600w it's a steal ;-)

Hps still is industry golden standard. Buy blind picked 10 hps bulbs from 10 different producers you will get better results than hand picked 10 different blind picked led boards.

Led is not being used last years cuz its better,it have some better characteristics that at this time people prefere more than HPS...less electricity, its not spoted that easy through IR cams...

nither is better its all about personal preferences of subject that use a thing.
What is bad or good its all about our own needs and preferences.

Universal good or bad dosent exist...its always epithet in eyes of one person or group of people.

Are you saying that 88% of new cars don't work in Norway in winter?

Do you think, even with subsidies, people would buy cars that don't work?

Most people who run their car batteries dead in winter do it with the heater. The cars themselves lose some range, but still function. But no-one is saying EVs are perfect. Considering their short time on the mainstream market, they are bound to get much better.

And they still beat petrol engines in a straight line :nanana:

Man, those new-fangled cell phone thingies, they'll never replace landlines. Too unreliable. Always running out of batteries. Too complicated to use with all those buttons. Who needs buttons when you can dial? Why would you want to push buttons? Besides, I don't know anyone with another cell phone so who am I going to call?

That’s my point. The other argument is it’s the genetics. That’s part of it. Especially if growing from seeds only bred and tested under LED lights and you’ve got some major problems.
