Hi Lurker, in my garden they never see anything that doesnt come in compost, but I suppose there will be some nutes in there somewhere.

Now its been a week since the most popular plant in this thread was shown so here she is, starting 4 colas on her first propper node.

I'm going to have to start doing this early topping. You're results are just incredible. I love the look of that little thing that's just going all over the place.

that´s great GMT, love your toping method, everybody is so afraid of stunting the grow of the plants by toping them, but your plants aren´t stunted at all, they are nice and bushy!!peace

Hey DP,
I_score, well if you look at that plant and its sibling that hasn't been topped, you can see the difference. I say go for it.

Hi Garlic, :badday: that branch didn't root for me. Not bothered at all, just inconvinient for the thread. No prob, I have another 600 or so of those seeds left, around 5 months old now, so shouldnt be any probs germing them. Appart from finding the time and room that is lol.

Thanks Jenna. This is just standard topping, once at the first set of single blades, then at each of the new 2 tops from that to create the 4 tops. I'll do it once more to create 8 tops and then they can all go single cola from there on out. If its a girl, she'll get some pollen, if its a guy, not sure may cut 7 colas off and use some of his pollen or I may just take all 8 and bin him.
It reduces overall hight and improves yield, doesn't make for big bud closeup shots though, making 8 tops, each one will only be 1 quarter size ish of your main single cola buds.
Still it requires twice as many jars and that's what counts to me. Although saying all that, looking at your thread, it looks like you already employ the standard topping techniques, so you know all that :) Just a matter of when to begin. I say go for it early .

Excellent thread GMT!

I have 15 seedling that im gonna top soon!

I just started growing and I love it, but sometimes im lazy so I like your growing style. I topped some plants 3 weeks ago and they're looking so good, that's why I decided to top all my seedling. But I didnt know I could top that young!

Thanks for the great info!

Inspirational thread. I just topped a few 3 1/2 week old plants after searching for the soonest node to top.

:biglaugh: So that's where the 4 Tops have gone - they've left the recording studio and have been hiding out in your garden... :biglaugh:

Hi Thak & Dank, it's always great to hear someone who has actually benefitted from a thread. Topping is great, I love it.
Lol MGJ, I've just used a cut that I have been hording from my last tri bruisedberry male to pollinate my bruised nuts girl. I'll soon have a bunch more seeds to wade through too. If I'm ever gonna re-start the tri thing then I'll have a lot of seeds to search through. And if not, well I'll just have a lot of seeds :) . I'll put a photo of the latest proud parents when I sort through my gallery. The original plants rather than the cuts of them, as I always think plants from seed look so much more natural than plants from cuttings.

The main reason for the post is to give an update on the topped youngen. Here she is as she gets 3 of her 4 heads removed. I'll take the 4th cola as it will be then as a clone when I switch to flower, meaning she'll have 6 colas to flower. Not that I'm into clones, but you never know.

You've gone and started an early topping craze GMT! :bigeye:

It only makes sense though...The lower you start your main branches, the stronger and thicker, and better producing they will be

I'm off to early top a few of my seedlings now

I'm planning on doing this to the 10 beans I'm going to start either today or tomorrow of my recently aquired pure haze by tom hill. If I don't have this super sativa as a shrub i'll be fucked so I don't think there's any other way. Thanks for this GMT. You're the lazy master!

i love it... my dad would love it too.. hes like the laziest gardener ever.... he keeps telling me simple is better, i agree to an extent, however he was very suprised when i gave his plants some ferts and they sprung to life within 12 hours.. GMT thanks for keeping everything simple though.. alot of times people get so involved in growing that they forget that is just a plant and they dont do the little basic things.. great thread.

Great looking plants indeed. That's why I"ll be doing my next beans lazy. Except I will be using Fox Farm Ocean forest soil But that's it!

lol TML, yeah it seems to be catching on.
Hi DP, glad your beans arrived safely, have they popped yet?
Hi Endo, sounds like you have a cool old fella, and he knows his stuff too lol.
Mangled, sounds like you have developed an eye for what your girls want. Telepathy is always handier than a calculator when it comes to girls.
Hey MGJ, thanks mate, they are both in the part time thread, you complimented them there too. I'm not sure what the term is for a cross like that, or what you'd call the seeds. They are uncle and niece, so they aren't f2s, but it is semi inbred so not a true f1 either. They are a perfect match for each other, and it needed to be done. I always love popping the first seeds of a new cross. Pregger momma is below.
Hi DP, I think I've heard that you need to watch your ph levels with fox farm, and be carefull with over watering as its pretty hot, and each time you water that also feeds em, so its easy to nute burn em with just water, in theory. Anyway, just an update, pics taken at lights out last night.
Here is that topped plant I've been showing, the cola that will be used for the clone is looking nearly ready to take, and the remaining 6 tops are now clearly individual tops ready to become colas.

Now that clone from the bruised nuts momma that is being used to grow the seeds.
The cut started like this

Now she is pregnant and looks like this,

Hope everyone is well
