nice to see ya back online gmt! good luck with the bugs, both in the pc and the garden bro.............glad to hear the euca is doin something and the lil ones are looking good.....take care
moz
Thanks Moz, some of the smaller plants are getting a turn each under coke bottle domes, just to try and keep humidity around their leaves a little higher, (most things dislike that too) and simultaneously gassing the area with eucalyptus.
Hi MGJ, mate its feels like its been so long. I'll drop in on your thread later and catch up, just glad to back here again properly, (its not the same in a library trying to skip having large pics of weed plants on your screen as the librarians walk past). So the tri thing is going again, should be an interesting little grow this one.
GMT sorry to hear about your computer problems. Let me know I have a tool that fixes computers every time? It has a 10 Lb. lead weight on the end of a 3 foot long wooden handle One swing and no more problems Oh yeah and no more computer either though
hehehe, what I think I'll do is buy a spare hard drive. That way I can get a clean OS and disk copy it. And probs just switch harddrives and format the old one and re disk copy it for next time. As with most things though, I need to get back to work to be able to finance my plans.
Man this is some lazy growing..no posts for weeks..what the hell..jk..screw the bios chip..replace the motherboard if the PC is older than 2 years is my rule of thumb..
When I upgrade and build a new computer..I always replace the hard drive(s) as well and just install the old hard drive as a media storage drive..
all my pics and downloads are already on the old drive..transfer anything you like at your leisure...
The reason I say replace the motherboard..computer technology moves so fast..repairing older PC's in this day and age is not worth it..
new tech is so much better and the price of a new board is not much more than that of the bios chip..
that is if the BIOS ROM chip is even the true problem..a bad power supply could have damaged it, etc..my 2 cents
Well I did the early toppers..so far so good..I even successfully cloned the 4mm stem tops,
but I was out of town caught in a blizzard and they died without water..but they rooted..
The ones I did at the second node have progressed much faster than the ones topped at the first..
these plants are slightly abused as well as they suffered from my delay and are also root-bound at the moment..
hmmm, its getting even more complicated now lol. Thats a good idea, one I'll go with eventually, but if its the power supply that fried it, wouldn't it do it to the new one too? I'm really starting to hate pcs. If you added up the value of the time time takes to solve these probs, I'm sure writing viruses would work out to the biggest crime on the planet. It was trying to clear one that caused the initial probs, then the restarts stopped happening.
Cool news on the twin towers project, looking forward to pics. I've never rooted anything that small myself, pitty you got caught up while away. And now abusing the girls who are working their arses off for your smokables, disgracefull Pack, lol, looks like your leaning to the lazy style these days.
ok heres my smokey girl clone, this is her last run. I like her a lot but i need the room and i've already breed with her, so its play time. I thought I'd do an MGJ inspired bonsai grow with her and it worked wonders. Rather than cloning and re cloning , I just bonsaied, and it was so easy.
Time to trim her up now as its time to flower her. I seriously thought about just letting her bud like that, but then decided against it.
Ahhh glasshoppah - you tlim bonsai rearry good! I'm impressed GMT, very nice form on smoky - I'd be tempted to keep her around for an exhibit!!! That first picture is a classic broom style!
And much thanks for the compliment my friend - inspiration is the highest compliment IMO...
Ah Bonsai Massa, thank you vewy much. I fowow you reed in orw things bonsai.
Outkastt, thanks, hope the topping section showed ya what ya needed. Most things I do here wont work for hydro growers, but the topping works the same way no matter what medium you use. Glad to have you aboard.
Ok it's time to introduce the survivors of the first round of cuts. Actually there was only one casualty in the first round. It's execution was for the crime of reverting to a bifoliar pheno. First up is the oldest of the bunch. Born just in time to suffer the last few bugs that were about and got the dome treatment to raise humidity above survivable levels. I'm assuming that that's what casued the damage.
Next a few other younger survivors ........
This looks at risk in the next round of cuts.
And this I just can't predict what will happen.
i tried lst'ing some plants and found the lower shoots never seemed to catch up with the top and some were stunted and never really grew.
so its topping for any future ones as all lower growth catches up and bushes out
I topped my durban and biddy early very early on like I think I saw here, its been good for the plants! It realy made the durban explode with new shoots everywhere.
MGJ, thanks mate, I'm getting a number of them reverting to bi foliar phenos, its like 2 of the 3 stems join up, I'll get some photos soon to show the problem, I think I've selected 2 I like.
Smokey, yeah I don't like LST methods myself. Personally I think there are 3 legitimate methods, single colas, multi topping, and my new favourite, (to play with and for keeping clones, bonsai).
Arewhy, looks like ya nailed it spot on to me, let us know how it develops.
TML thanks man, I'm trying to come up with a lazy computing plan, talking to MGJ though it's not as simple as this growing lark is. I haven't given up yet, if I come up with a solution that works for me I''ll post it online. The requirements are, whisper quiet operation (white noise really does my head in) safe storage of files, and easy replacement of operating system when infection occurs. I'm looking at solid state storage drives like SD memory cards via numerous card readers and zalman coolers, but the backup of operating systems is still too complicated for my needs. Esp with XP only allowing one installation and 2000 having so many holes. Ah well, give it time.
Deft, your durban looks really nice, I love the cabbage leaves, whats going on with the Biddy though?
