Here are a few pics of a bud thats drying. I really have no idea if this is airy or tasty or even ready. Do you think it looks good? sure does smell good.
Should i have clipped the leaves already?
I tried to get the best pictures I could.
Added a custom cut scrog screen. I think it will work great. Looks about right? I can't believe how many damn posts I have made lately. I guess Its that time of the season. I installed and leveled the darn screen and looked at it for a sec, decided to lower it three inches to give me more room to move the light around etc....
These pictures are of the final setup. I trimmed some of the growth below the screen off to get more nutes to the parts of the plant above the screen. I used an old metal shelving unit. Had to cut it down but it did the trick. I can easily remove it if I need to.
I Removed most of the fan leaves and others from all my drying buds. Here are a few random big buds, They all arn't this big but not bad for a couple plants I almost killed many times. First harvest. I still don't know the dry weight. Or wet for that matter. I'll post soon. Check these pics out.
I have serious questions about the screen i'm using for SCROG? is it too big? i see everyone using wire and stuff like that for theirs. I figured it would be nice to use this b/c it doubles as a shelf to set a fan on and also looks pretty good. Please let me know if you have a good answer to scrog screen size and gauge of cage used?
Side note, trimmed up my mothers and things are looking good. More updates to come soon.
i love your hood you made man, i should really make one of thse, would help with heat alot!
cant help ya with the scrog screen question but i think that the bigger the holes the longer the branches will have to grow before winding em back under again. cant wait to see how your second run turns out, your buds are looking tasty from the first one too!
hey Badgr, had to stop buy and see how things are going.
the picture of you flipping off the bag of soil made me laugh HARD!
anyhow, the buds look great have you sampled yet? are they good and sticky?
i've been spending my time over at the "indoor hydro" section and have begun a round of hydro growing. both drip and ebb & flow. everyone has been great with helping me out.
had zero luck with soil and killed all my plants and used up all my seeds.
got four sprouts going now in rockwool and they look great. keepin my fingers crossed.
give us an update on the shitty soil you bought and how good your buds are.
be cool
Well Well Well, My two favorite members of IC Mag. Good to hear from you
Sloppy Seconds, and MrGrowMez
I'm sitting here taste testing some of my home grown first batch. It's curing right along. I got like 2.7 Oz's when all was said and done. I am happy to report that the chlorophyll taste is finally starting to dissipate. Being that it was my first batch and all I had no idea that the pine needly taste would be a problem. Good things take time, I have about another week or two before the buds are really good and cured and ready to taste. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
I don't remember if I said much about that soil batch I had going. Well i hate that non sense soil Miracle grow makes so I just went ahead and threw out everything but the mothers. I am now using a hydro cloner and in the process of making a dwc cooler setup down below. I'll have to post some pics but I don't have time right now.
Here is the latest on my cab. Every thing seems to be changing right now.
Here Are some pics of my new SWC bubble cloner. I use a $79 air pump from a pet store. It seems silent and works great.
Just some rubber made tall shoe container.
Two bubble wands epoxied to the cloner. Used the wands with adjustable output. Also a nice little heater with temp control.
Covered the lid it foil HVAC tape. Used some pool noodles for the green inserts. My big ol' bad ass air pump.
Not much going on with the roots yet. Only two days in. Should I raise the water level?
Some cloning dome I got at the Hydro store. Fit pretty good but I had to cut the end so I could spray the cuttings once a day.
Using some Advanced Nutrients Jump Start Cutting Accelerator to promote initial rooting and cutting growth. Just 1/2 tbs in my sprayer. I'll report how good this product works later.
Here Is a pic of the pump again and also notice that weird white stick hanging out of the intake fan. I noticed the fans climate controls were only using the temp of the intake air and not the actual cab air so I rewired it and put the sensor in the actual cab air. Seems to work very good now. I'm going to have to do the same thing to the flowering chamber intake fan.
Should I block the light?
Here are all my Fox Farm Nutes I picked up at the hydro store. I'm not too sure if I'll visit there again. It's great and all but who knows who's could be outside watching and tailing me. Damn Feds!
The Next batch of photos is of my DWC cooler flowering unit. UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I hope it will work great. I decided to shorten it so I could utilize my flowering cab and have room to adjust my 400w hps. I figured why use a rubber made when I can just cut down this old cooler? Should work right? I used silicone to seal and join the parts of the cooler together. After it drys it shouldn't have any effect on the hydroponics right?
Last but not least are some jars of dankness. The cure is going well but i can hardly wait to smoke it all up. These are big half gallon jars.
Sad and Glad to update that I sold about an Oz to a good buddy. I gave it to him for 320 instead of $400. Smokes real good and it's not even all the way cured. I hope I can make the other ounce last a month or so. We will see I suppose. No help from my buddys leaving their bongs and nice pipes at my place to temp me to use them. AHhhh
Here are afew more updates I did to the cab.
Replaced the intake as I do once a month. Quite a difference.
My Mothers are doing pretty good. Minor clipping is needed to keep them off the light bulbs.
Mounted the Power strip off the floor to keep it away from water and save space.
Also I mounted one of the mini blowers to the wall above the intakes.
Mounted all of the mini blowers to the walls of the flower cab. I put thick weather stripping behind the blowers to keep the vibrations down. Also mounted the power strip to the wall to organize save space and keep it away from any water spills.
This one blows air through the plants and onto the light.
Well I went out and spent most of the extra money out of my pay check on some mods for the hydro system I'm trying to build. Cost me about 200$ little parts here and their add up. I usually buy what I need and not whats cheapest. Pays off later when I don't have to upgrade.
Here is a pic of The Pet Store PH increase and PH decrease. Also a PH one month leave in test that changes in moments. Pretty cool. Lets see if it works. Not to substitute that for actual water test though.
I also got two of these In water temp sensors. One for the veg cloner and one for the flower DWC cooler. They are pretty nice.
I re did the Flower DWC set up by adding 2 48" flexible bubble wands . Did the same thing to the Cloners and it worked out great. My air pumps should have plenty of air output to handle these add ons.
Here is the cloner in action bubbles cover ever inch now..
Here is a pic of the construction. My epoxies turning yellow I hope its ok in the water. I might be looking at a new tub and glue if it jacks with the water.
Added the anti siphon inserts and they work great. Right before I was installing one of them water started to shoot out of the tube. Good thing I installed those simple checks.
Thats all my updates for now. My ShiskaBerry harvest sure is tasty and sweet. I shouldn't have sold half of my harvest. But I was able to budget to do these upgrades.
Just going to sit back smoke some and wait for the roots to grow.
Peace

UPDATE. I went over all the seams and epoxies in the cooler with Aquarium grade sealant. I don't know if It will solve my future problems but I used an entire tube of the stuff. Lets hope it works. I was only able to put it on the exterior of the bubble cloner. I'll have to wait till these clones die or get enough roots to put them in the flowering chamber. Messy smelly stuff. I feel high and I haven't even smoked today! Every time I start a new project I end up doing it over and over and improving it. No matter how much research I do before I start the only way to get it right is plain old experience. Their sure is a life long learning cure with any thing we do. Peace. Let's hope I'm not hurting my mothers by having a little silicone vapor/ fumes. Pretty good ventilation but still.
I did some more bubble cloner research and decided I had better block the light. I used foil tape and some of that foil-ex bubble/insulation sheeting. It worked out pretty good. Takes forever but I got myself a lunar lander looking cloner now.
I used the foil-ex around the bottom of the cloner.
I organized things a little in the veg cab.
Sealed up the cooler too. I just went around where the two pieces come together and foil taped it. That will block any light that could have gotten through the clear silicone.
Well badgr you've done it again, looks very clean!
sorry to hear about you sellin 1/2 the stash, but you gotta do what you gotta do. the new cloning box looks great and the $$ you spent will reward you with more than you can smoke.
i've had bad luck again and killed my small plants...i dont know what to think.
i'll need to buy some more seeds and start again. cant remember the last time i smoked!
keep the info coming, i like to see the progress. be cool
Ahhh Man Sloppy Seconds, that sucks that you can't remember the last time you smoked! wish I could smoke you up but I'm pretty sure I can't send a nug attached to e-mail. LOL. I wish you were having better luck. I'm at lunch now and I just filled my cooler with 20 gallons of water to test for leaks. I know I'm going to be pissed off later when I see that the rez temp is too high but hey Maybe It will surprise me with no leaks and a decent temp. Let's hope. I still haven't actually bought any seeds but I am planning on getting something crazy soon. Some of the crazy purps I have seen in all the mags. As usual I'll keep updating. Good to hear from you Sloppy Seconds. I hope you get some smoke soon.
Well I did a pretty big project today since I got the day off. Too bad it's raining. Ohh well Thats why I did work, Son. LOL I'm kinda faded right now. I just attempted to do a shotgun. I don't know if you have heard of it but my buddies talked me into trying one again. I took a massive bong rip then hold the smoke in drink an entire beer and take a shot of whiskey or whatever you fancy, then after all the drinks are gone blow the smoke out and celebrate your success. I ended up passed out on my kitchen floor with my buddies all laughing hysterically. I just didn't get the smoke out I think it's still in my lungs! give it a holiday try. Happy 4th!
Any way before that happened I re routed the air cooled hoods intake. Pretty pain in the ass project but it works great. I was having a problem with the air for the flowering chamber and air cooled hood in the same run. Wasn't working too well. Now I have separate air flow. The hood can draw cooler air and the cab is more efficient. Here are a few pics. Of my Light proof intake that is. It works pretty good.
You can see what the intakes on the bare cab look like.
Here is the inside of the light proof intake/filter setup. The shiny foil tape is all i had so I sealed up around where the new hood only intake section. I still need to light proof it more but so far so good.
Re sealed intakes
Right now I'm testing my flower chamber temps and rez temps. Room temp is about 68* and the rez has been under the light for days. The cab temp stays at around 76 and the rez water is staying under 65*! Thats great news. Best of all is I have been running the 400w hps 16 hours on for the upcoming 2 week veg time under the hps to fill the flowering chamber with growth. Then back to 12/12. I'm thinking about getting a 400w hps/mh switchable ballast setup.
Here is the out side of the intake light proof box. The new intake for the hood only is on the left. Still no filter or complete light proofing but that is soon to come.
Peace.
I had this old tool box from art school I just cut it in half and cut an opening on one side of it. Blocks the light and is pretty low profile. It will be easy to stealth out.
BTW my last harvest is soooo sweet and tasty now. I wish I had more. It turned out great!
crftymofo, Thanks man. I'm glad you like my work. Always trying to make things better. Hope to hear from you again someday. Peace
UPDATE... Some of my Clones finally sprouted some roots! I was beginning to wonder if my cloner was even working. Just takes time i guess. It has really only been like a week so not too bad. My water temps are staying nice and everything is going as planned. Too bad i only have a 1/2 oz left of my last harvest. I have been smoking the hell out of that stuff. My buddies talk me into selling 8th's all the time! DAMN!!! It is tasty though. I had to tell them it was some out of state shit. LOL. I'll be doing a few projects this weekend but nothing major. I may fab up a scrog screen that connects to the top of the cooler. That way its all one piece. sorta like NGB's swc pvc scrog setup.
PEACE.
dude your set up is sick! my buddy has a flower cab like your but its messer and smaller. well keep up the good work man! cant wait for updates... BTW hows the venting issue into the room doing with temps?
Bagr...very impressive.I built a C13 modeled after Maliboos(OG Person or hero more like it Your thread and tenatious planning is very entertaining and useful..thx BL
