absolutely, they should be banned from trading ANY stocks etc while getting secret info as part of their jobs. not only them and their spouses, but anyone they even know and/or are related to however distantly. no one they are in business with, or that could potentially monetarily benefit from that knowledge. and communicating that knowledge to anyone that could use it should be a felony resulting in jail time & huge fines. (in this instance, i'm okay with the death penalty, lol) this is one of the most corrosive forms of corruption, and it needs snuffing out entirely, no matter how difficult it is to accomplish. they get a salary, that is all they should get, no self-enrichment at our expense.

People will find a way to skirt laws they don't agree with. Legal cannabis passes packs out the back door pretty easily. Greed/profits win every time.
