Yeah, they really are similar when it comes to physical properties. When I took an fast look I first think that those pic´s are from the same strain...

Hmm :chin: Maybe they are growing your cross in Jamaica <-LoL<-

They both have lovely colors!

Peace out mon´!!!

Herbalistic - I think someone was growing Black Domina or similar in Jamaica down the road from a sativa population, which pollenated the buds my friend brought back. The only real differences are the claw-shaped leaves, purple calyxes and the pulsating, stimulant high, but that could easily have some from a sativa female parent. Food for thought, definitely...:)

When thinking about that something similar to BD is present in your cross...

I say yeah, it could be possible considering, that Jamaica isnt that big island, so the winds could easily bring pollen from the other end of Jamaica to another end!

Anyway, good work you have done with your BD x MI, but thinking about the same looking buds with potent sativa high :yoinks: Purple color is just a plus+ However, I think it´s nicer to smoke purple buds instead, than the same potential holding usual colored buds.. It´s just something in the purple & colours. I dont let that impress me, when I choose strains to grow. Like I said, If they are potent & purple = __++I grow them++__

Damn, after reading this post, I must admit that im quite high :D I smoked joint half a hour ago, that was made of WhiteSkunk scissor hash mixed with Original Haze x SK#1... = Im high :D

Sorry, for all this offtopic mate!

Hello all
Been very busy lately with my girls... So much to do. Summer is in 2 weeks and my entire line for this year is outside, with the exception of the NLxKush which do very well indoor....But that's slipping to off topic ! L.O.L.
My jamaicans are very interesting, definetly a sativa and the stem rubbs remind me of the anise smelling jamaican plates of the 70's...
Three females and one male from the looks of it...
I am contemplating five days of breeding this year.
Five pollen donors will be used.
Each day will consist of 24 to 25 tags... denoting male donor only..
A paintbrush and testube with pollen will be used to pollenate and tag 25 underside branches on 25 different strains-tagged before pollenating so as not to disturb the pollen.
In five days I can make 125 new test crosses...
Am I just insane? Hows that for some killa math...
Jamaican red hair, chinese red sichuan, mendocino hashplant, chocolate thai, g-13.
Those are the five male donors, and i may use nlxkush as well....

High Herbalistic !

Well Jamaica is not a small island , 235km from one end to anothers, varies from 35 to 82 km wide; third largest island of the greater antilles

The fact is that there's thousands of small ganja plantations in Ja, and that the tourist and jamaicans abroad have brought a lot of dutch indica dominant strains ; so that most of the pure local sativas aren't pure anymore but hybridized.

One love.

Here are 2 Jamaicans, 2nd generation after removing from the island and grown in Europe. They were nice plants with a vigorous growth and a very happy effect. The 2nd one had the pot pissed by the neighbour cat, so you can see it was starting burning and loosing a lot of leaves.

Thanks for the input lamsbreath..
This jamaican red hair is one which has been "kept" for around 20 years or so.
Reportedly before the island strains were hybridized so much.
They are definetly sativa dominant, and seem pure to me so far. I have four outdoor.
One is male, the rest female. All a bit over 3 foot, getting closer to 4.

Good to see this thread isn't dead yet, and as I'm finally back online after a short absence, I've got some other interesting data. My friend went back to Ja again this spring, and brought some more seeds back - this time he was told it was called 'Hazel Skunk'. Now that may just be a grower name rather than a new strain, but this variety has the fattest, most ridiculously indica leaves I have ever seen - more so than Deep Chunk or any of those types - this barely looks like weed at all.

My friend has about four going I think - in his garden, and guerilla, and I'll try and get some pics, as I've never seen anything like this. Ironic that everything he's bringing back seems very indica in structure, although if that last one is anything to go by, not necessarily to smoke! Incidentally, several friends of mine are now growing out that original one that started this thread, so there's no chance of that one disappearing now...:)

hello guys, i`ve read all this topic (very interesting, beatiful pics) searching for some information about JAMAICA BLUE MONTAIN, i´ve got some seeds from a friend here in Chile, feminized. This is the second time i grow them, first was outdoor, in a greenhouse. Now this baby is growing indoor under HPS 250 W, at this moment she has a month flowering 13/11, looks great and healthy, but don´t stop growing (bud growing has started). I now that she won´t be ready for CUT at 60 days, y belive it would take a few weeks more, like 80 days.....Now i'm going to change the photopheriod to 14/10, ¿or it's a best bet wait for some days? I don´t want her to turn into a monster, at this time she has 98cms. from the ground.
Here some pics.

She's sharing the indoor with some other girls, Jack Herer and Skunk (Sensi Seeds) and Super Haze (Dutch Passion Seeds). Here`s a general view of the indoor.

Well, that's all, if there's some tips, coments or advises for this Chilean grower, glad to read them. Thanks.

Jah bless for everyone.

Salu2. :bongsmi:

PS:sorry for my bad english.

Good info and pics - thanks to all :)

I grew out some Jamaican from a clone gifted to me by a friend who went to Jamaica and got seeds. The plant I grew as a mother (in coco) and subsequently grew out her cuttings in NFT hydro, was clearly a hybrid as had medium thick fan leaves, but still had enough 'Jamaican' in her to be comparable to other more pure Jamaican imports I've had.

When flowered, she stretched quite a lot and had large internodal spacing.

Flowering time was approx 10 weeks, and she also hermed, but this was quite late in flower and didn't affect other plants around them.

The resulting smoke was good - earthy, tasty, 'up' and reasonably potent. It was a good one for having with morning coffee as a wake & baker :)
