Where are the lambsbread crosses at?
I would love to be involved, help keep this strain alive. Sounds like the lambsbread is closely held. I got no action in the “scene” so I imagine Ill have to settle in to some crosses.
Who should I be looking for and what?

There are two options off the top of my head for JLB hybrids that'll get you close to the pure variety (by which I mean not crossed with some purple gorilla cookies og sort of genetic grab bag). They both were originally produced by USC: Double Jam and Col Jam.

Double Jam is a cross between the old JLB line and a variety collected in the 80s in the Blue mountains, unsurprisingly called Jamaican Blue Mountain. This one I've had trouble finding, and I don't know if It's produced by USC anymore. You might be able to find it at Alchimia, but they don't ship to the US, if that's where you are. Luckily, you can find a repro under the name Jamaican Spirit at Cannapot.

ColJam was originally a cross between an 80s Colombian Gold and JLB, but it has since been back crossed to the Colombian, so JLB leaning individuals would be harder to find. The last time I checked, Cannabiogen carried it.

Aside from these options, I'd say your best bet is to post up, make friends and inquire respectfully. You might not ever get a hold of the pure JLB, but I'm sure you'll come across plenty of other interesting varietiesto keep you busy.

No such thing as lambsbread it's actually lambs breath which would be grassy smelling imagine a Jamaican saying lambs breath it would sound like lambsbread. Think about it

Thanks man, everything I read leads me to this strain when searching effects.
I smoke to center myself. Introspection at the end of the day is absolutely necessary for me to grow

Lamb's breath was the term I learned. Mid, late seventies.

G `day R

Rastas are Christians .
The bread of the Lamb is a term from the bible .

Catholics do a ceremony called communion . They are given bread and wine in that ceremony . Representing the flesh and blood of Jesus .

Many people don`t understand that Rastafarianism is a bastardized Christianity . Think its all about making fire . Its far more than dread locks and smokin herb .

Thanks for sharin

Halle Selase is Jesus reincarnated for the Rastas .
He had a scar on the palm of his hand from a bullet wound sustained in a war against Italian invasion
. When he went to Jamaica he was driven from the airport in an open top limmo and waved to the crowds . They saw the scar and believed he was Jesus . As he had a scar on his palm they thought it was a scar from being crucified .

Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors;…

I will watch that video in its entirety later .
It was Rita Marley I heard speak about the scar on his palm .

Another interesting factor . Ras Tafari - Halle Selase . Was king of Ethiopia in Nth East Africa close to Arabia . Most of the African slaves transported to the Caribbean came from west coast Africa .

Thanks for sharin

Hello Elmer, I think that both versions are valid (bread / breath), I am a Rasta and I have met several Jamaicans, in their lexicon every word has a weight, a value, nothing is random ... It could also represent the divine breath, the Rasta ti they will say that the ganjah brings out the truer side of yourself ...
Speaking of Jamaican grass, although many Rastas claim to come from Africa, African genetics were introduced late, do Pola World War II and the settlement of Sashamane, in Ethiopia ... surely most of the genetics are Indian, and perhaps to this was added the pollen of the Central American varieties carried by the wind ...
There is also the possibility that the Spaniards (who occupied the island before the English) introduced the first hemp plantations ....

I can understand it being the breath in that they like to make clouds of smoke .
I have commented previously re . They don`t inhale and hold it in like we do in the West .

There is a very old tradition of burning herbs and incense in the Jewish and Christian traditions . A type of aroma therapy in conjunction with the worship .

Story I read a long time ago was lots of Colombian seed got into the mix in Jamaica .
In the days before the cocaine became the smugglers choice .

Do you know anything about letting lambs either eat off the leaves or feeding the ganja to a sheep collecting it after it has passed and smoking that ?
That`s another snippet of Rasta lore I have read .

I also saw that way of inhaling, to me friends told me that it is a form of self-blessing ... but different people will tell you different versions, it is typical of the Creole culture ...

There was an abundance of Colombian seeds in the 70s I think, in the same period of the Colombian gold boom, the island is on the road Colombia - USA, and unfortunately this has bloodied (and filled with coca) the lower quarters of the island. ...
I never knew this sheep thing, the traditional Rastas are almost vegetarian, someone raises chickens, someone else peaches, but most live on fruits and vegetables ...
Non-Rastas raise pigs, and sometimes goats ...

An idea of old Jamaican weed could still be found in the small Caribbean islands ..

Another significant thing concerns the cultivation: contrary to what it seems, the soil of the island is not very fertile, however with a pinch of manure is perfect for these royal sativa...
Nowadays modern varieties need a lot of nutrients, most of the plants are grown in small containers, full of fertile soil and guano ... things have changed ...

It is funny to realize that modern strains need more nutrients than old giants :D

It is also a security problem, until the late 70s the Jamaican governments used marijuana as an instrument of social control, but tacitly tolerated the large plantations, so the farmers could let the plants grow taller, from the early 80's the agreements with the DEA have changed things, the traffickers have introduced the indica / skunk, and now the kush grow like autoflowering ....
