I don't know about "dialed" in. I am a common sense grower. We read all these formulas people have on here for nutes and soil or whatever. Many, many threads about all these additives and such. If I bought everything a certain person keeps telling people to get, I'd have thousands of dollars in my grow and I truely doubt that my weed would be any better.

I get pms all the time from well established growers that do not do all that nonsense, they grow more like me, but those aren't the popular threads. People seem to want to make it hard for some reason, I just don't get it.

Yes, everyone tries to re invent the wheel. People think that you gotta use expensive nutes and check ph every 2 seconds and do all kinds of goofy shit making it harder than it has to be. Common sense and leaving the plants alone will end up giving you the best results every time. I know a gorwer who spends 5 hours a day in his grow room checking PH , adding all this crazy shit nute wise and doing all types of dumb shit and it dont do crap to the weed . Some people are just obbsesive compluslive when it comes to growing and do the same dumb shit over and over and it hurts more than helps.

Give em water, give em food, give em light and step away from the plants. They grow fine with or without our undivided attention.

I dont own a PH meter and I dont use expensive nutes. I have smoked herb from people that do and its no different from common sense growers. Like you said POMH " the less you do they better off they are"

I do need to update some pics on my room, it has gone through many changes since I started this thread. I have some 42 watt cfl's hanging around the edge of my 150 hps. With the weather being cooler now, I am able to have them all on if necessary. It is a big help when they get taller as I can have the lights getting along the lower parts, along the sides of the plants.

I of course have installed the two exhaust fans also.




I enclose with this car windshield to maximize my light, and the thing you see hangin to the left is the door.

VERY NICE!! I also have found it incredibly "complex" and this grow i decided to (in my own way) keep it simple. My method: General Hydroponics FloraNova one-part nutes. They seem to have EVERYTHING the plant needs, and so far ive been giving them 1 to 2 teaspoons per gallon with every watering. I only water when they start to droop, and this has given me good results so far... i have a PH meter and ive verified that this gives me the proper PH, and it stays STABLE as the GH FNs are buffered.
im only in the second week of flower so i dont want to speak too soon (about the results)!! Im VERY impressed with your results, given the "little" 150 HPS and all that. Im using two 400wHPSes in a 5sqft space, giving me 160wpsqft!!! I keep it all cool with a single "STANLEY" blower mounted in a special "backpack" i made that lets the blower sit kind of halfway in and halfway out of my cab. This lets me use both intakes of the blower, and it blows into a homemade silencer for sound absorbtion (based on same idea as a automotive straight-thru performance muffler) that doesnt block any flow. However, i have some folded-up carbon filter material that does block the flow, but thats true of carbon filters... i have to have total stealth, which i do! so far,,, like i say im still in early flowering and have trained my plants as low as possible to keep them away from the twin 400s, mostly so they have room to grow some colas...

this is the overall cabinet:


this is my airflow silencer (VERY effective!) with just pieces of seat-cushion foam stuffed *around* the blower output:


the folded-up carbon filter (working OK so far... i have many odor-absorber products in the room outside the cab too... cant smell the plants one bit--yet!)



my real secret on how to keep 800w cool in 5sqft of box,,, MASSIVE intake, pulling cold air down low from an outside window's glass:

All of this is really quite sweet, but I do not feel like an expert. I actually still feel very new at growing and I learn from the real masters here at IC, and believe me, they are everywhere.
I will for sure drop by your thread, I love our micro grows forum, we are a close knit group and are always pulling for each other's grows.

I have to change things up now and then but the hippie chick is my signature ave and she will will return.
