Very nice pics POMH. Those are beautiful colas you grew there! Bagseed? woman, those look awesome. I wish my woman grew buds like those..Thanksgiving will be nice this year.
Soma swears bat guano (aged guano 0-7-0) like Budswell when used in flowering gives bud more flavor. It is old and the Nitrogen is used up, so it only promotes more bud growth and flavor hopefully. I'm trying it to see what happens in my own grow.Sheep or cow manure probably is high in N.

RE: Bat Vs. Cow...

Hey Red and POMH, Catagorize this post in the "better late then never" file - I found this website that gives a really comprehensive analysis of ferts - HERE!

I've been wondering if one really needs bat poo to have really great weed also, (because I WILL get a crop going!!) looks like bat guano pours-on the N's, but Red, you compensate by using dried plasma.

Personally - I think marketing has a whole lot to doo with bat poo!! I mean, some of the ads... whoah!!! Why should I pay $19 for a handfull bat shit from some cave in the highlands of mexico, when I can grab a meadow-muffin from my neighbors back yard and get the same result for free???

Meadow muffin......hahahahahahaha

Hey I'm all for using your resources, and I want to be able to walk into a store and buy what I want without worrying about anything looking funny, without having to order anything.

Sometimes we make growing herb harder than it has to be

Most of the time peopel make growing harder than it has to be. People pay too much attention to plants, checkin them every few hours. Its a weed, its gonna grow regardless of what we do and thats what people dont get. I know one member who would spend 5 hours a day in his room , when it was just wasting time. Just water them, rotate them under the light and move on with your life is my approach

Hey, I confess - I've been spending a whole buncha-time reading these boards also - I'm recovering from surgery, and this community sure beats the heck out of daytime TV!!!!

I'm liking your approach to life, Nevermind - we all need a bit more laid-back-ness... less likely to get into wars that way!!

I have to admit I do spend time tending them, I enjoy it. But I have learned not to overdo it, not with water or ferts, just let them grow.

some strain's like more food than other's ect.. we all know that. but i like to test my limit's. my ultimate goal is to feed the plant as much nutrient's as possible without burning. although this had me giving them peter's 20-20-20 veg fert's in full dose every week. they were growing very hapily but i did take one week ferting out of every month for flushing to rid the soil of built up salt's. what are your plans for next grow pohm? strain, style ect?

Hey PomH those buds look beautiful. The structure of bud to leaf, with those hook-like leaves is very exciting. Great job :).

What are the trichomes looking like these days?

They are 50/50 clear to cloudy. Maybe next week or just after they will be ready.

I have been told that those hook leaves are overfert, isn't it? What do you think? All 4 are like that and 2 are in MG while 2 are in organic mix. I was experimenting.

Hmm.. they are all like that, and you've been using chem and organic?

Well experimenting is usually always a good thing.
usually.. always.. lol(not really sure what that means :p)

Both seem super green with no signs of deficiency that i can see. I'm really not sure if it is from over ferting because there is no nutrient burnage going on, but if it is from overferting then iv'e learned something new :)

Did you plan on flushing before harvest?

Yep they are all like that, but seems to be mostly the smaller leaves toward the top. I tended to believe it was genetics because I have had other plants do the same thing before.

Each grow has been different in some way for me. I started with MG because it was easy and inexpensive, I couldn't see buying all those organics before I could see if I could even grow.

Then I did organic grows. Now I am doing both. So far, the MG grew faster and flowered first. But now they seem to have all caught up. I only fert when it seems they need it, I make weak organic teas usually, or mostly organic anyway.

I do flush before harvest and no nutes for 2 or maybe 3 weeks before. Then at the last watering, I water them down real good, letting it pour through. Then I will let them dry out and chop.

This grow will come down to taste difference between the 2. I am betting it will be no difference.

They are getting close. I have one shrimp. It flowered first and is the frostiest now but it didn't grow likethe others. I had said that the MG did flower first and grow faster, and then they all caught up. But now lookin at them, seems the organics are a bit larger.

The 2 MG ones are in the back.

These next 2 are MG.

Organic medium on the left.

Well chances are if you are doing bagseed then its hard to compare different plants from seed. You may have different phenos so doing a test is hard. Best way to test is to take cuttings and run 2 cuttings from same plant for the test. Not from seed. from seed you may have heavier yeilding phenos so you may be comparing a hog to a shrimp. Take cuttings and run test. You can test taste though

Well I don't want to get all scientific here. I just figured it was bagseed and I didnt pay for it I would do this, just for the fun of it.

I am not going to experiment with my good beans ya know.

i am not knocking you in the least my love. All i was trying to do was show you tht there are probably a few phenos there so it would be best to just test one pheno. That may explain difference in size right now as opposed to chem or organic. Nice girls though. NO LST at all, just 1 long cola. Cool show my love. Take care

haha I know you aren't knocking me hunnybun.
No LST, I just let them go to see what they would do. I have 3 other plants in flower now and they are all being LST'd.

I like changing things, messing with things.......seeing just what I can grow.

These are very big colas and heavy too, very heavy. I think they will be ready to chop this week and then Ill move 3 more into flower.

This is really fun, I love growing.

I changed my pot size due to a convo with 1Toke about using tall skinnier pots for flower. I was having problems getting more than 4 in there because the damn pots were so big. I made these out of 2 pots, cut one and glued them together. They are 6 1/2 inches wide but 15 inches deep. I can easily get 6 plants in there with these.
