Week 4 of 12/12.

I know you guys like pictures, so here goes:

Buds are really starting to fatten up, which is real nice. Especially since there's at least 4 weeks to go. :dance013:

Going to do a heavy defoliation session tomorrow, need to get better light-penetration and better air-circulation.

This is the trunk of one of the keeper-phenos, massive:

Some close-ups:

Clones are coming along well:

Now to the "sad" part, the plants are somewhat healthy, but not 100% and I'm not sure why. :(

Here's a pic:

Basically all leaves on all plants shows this sign.

Any ideas?

the growth is really vigorous and yes perhaps some burn, at this point you might want to ease back off the nutes or just let them linger and add only water. I could be wrong about that but I know you want a nice clean smoke when done not overly fertilized. it's gonna get realllllly dense in there! do you plan to lower humidity? thinning out the vegetation does help with that. k cya later.

Thanks iSmoke and Nug!

Well, EC have been in the 1.20 range this past week, but perhaps the ladies are a bit sensitive. I change out the res every week. But perhaps go with just RO-water (and maybe a little calmag) for a couple of days?

Yeah, dense I like! :D

RH is in the 50s in the canopy.

Cheers!

More party!

More party!

Last picture-post was from end of week 4 of 12/12.

These are taken first day of week 5 after a moderate defoliation session. I filled a 5 gallon bucket with leaf, but it's hard to tell from the pictures.

Changed the res' and put in new solution with an EC of ~0.50, figured I'd try to sort out the nute-burn.

I now know that the heat-stress is from the vertical 400's, unfortunately there's not much I can do about it atm. Next round I will put a cage of chicken-wire around each plus cool them with the AC.

I fiddled with the clones today. I picked out 10 total from the 3 best (so far) phenos. They will veg and become "mothers" and will provide clones for next run. Instead of trying to keep the ones I have now alive for 2 months+. This means I'll get fresh clones AND get clones only from the 3 best phenos.

The rest of the clones I will bloom out under a 600, no point in wasting them right? :dance013:

Alright, that's it for now. Thanks for stopping by. :tiphat:

Cheers!

I like your style with the vert and horizontal lighting, I respect growers that think outside the box.

didn't mean anything by saying a lot better than i expected. they weren't very uniform in the beginning, but they seem to have filled out the screen very nicely.

forget EC, what has your PPM been at the past few weeks?(roughly)

usually i see some nute burn around 1300-1400+ for hydro.. i try and keep mine around 1100

Thanks Teeg! I did a lot of research before this setup, and this was something I wanted to try. There's quite a few improvements to be made, but I'm definitely satisfied with the setup.

Very true, the fact is they're still not really that uniform. The pictures are a bit deceiving.

Actually EC is (or atleast should be) the measurement used for nute-strengths since it's generic, ppm's are not.

conversion table

But for Hanna ppm's my values have been between 600 and 800.

Now they're at roughly 250.

I guess the ladies are sensitive.

I'm thinking hard about switching to GH and Lucas' formula for my next run.

Hey all!

No picture update today, nothing much has happened the past two weeks really, they're mostly frosting up. :)

In the other room on the other hand, things are progressing.

The ad-hoc mothers:

And a closeup:

picture.php

Should I top them? Now? Later? When? They're about two weeks old.

Their sole purpose is to provide me with about 5-6 clones each, then they'll be no more.

The other ones, "the 24" that were sharing space with the "mothers" have moved in to their own place, a DR120, under a 600 HPS. The point is to just flower them out and see what happens. Better than throwing them away, right?

Sorry, no pictures tho. They were sleeping. :D

Later!
