Is Nevilles Haze still the strongest haze?

How is most Nevilles phenos? I started one but had to chop it early because it got too dry in the summer heat. Are they mostly good plants or a high volume of shit?

It's Nevil, not Neville.
Neville sounds american.

Coon, not Koon. Ya hear?

Mad selection is needed imo
Unless it's a well worked line such as metal haze
If you do find the 1 in 30 or 1 on 100, you'll ask your roommate to move out

It makes you wonder why some strains that have been around so long are still full of garbage, like why over the decades has no one refined these strains. I find this same thing with just about every haze, ssh, mango, nevils, etc..there is such a high percentage of garbage, they should refine them because the average grower does not have the space or resources to grow 30+ to pheno hunt to keep one and throw 29 away.

Not everyone wants the same NH pheno, some people are trying to grow 20' monsters outdoors, other are trying to do micro grows indoors. NH can do both if you take the time to select properly.

I'd just like the amount of keepers to culls ratio to be more like 2:10 than 2:50 or 3:100

Indeed.
It is by design. They could "refine" it as requested but they didn't because in their mind it wouldn't be "refining" it would be bottle-necking.
And I whole-heartedly agree.

As a matter of fact:
Mango Haze is available as a more bottle-necked inbred line if you go through the Mr. Nice auctions. They apparently gave in to the requests after all.

But it is by design, they also give out more beans per pack for the same reason: You are supposed to find your plant in the pack, not 2 types of phenos and that's that.

What apparently many fail to consider is the flowering time for these types of strains.
In Neville's Haze you will find phenos that go 90 days up to phenos that go way over 120 days.
That's a 1 month window right there.
Some people will want the highest quality and don't care for production and thus will look at the longer blooming phenos as they are usually more potent and pronounced.
Others will want something in between and while being willing to wait longer for top-shelf haze, they are not willing to invest an additional month of flowering so they will look towards the 90 day phenos.

To me it all makes sense, I don't get what is confusing about it.

And stating that "half the plants are shit" makes you look clueless about the strain.

Not entirely accurate. Mango Haze IBL is available on MNS auctions, but only because we requested access to the MNS vault. The seeds were already made. Great post.

I get that some people want the short ones and some want a 20' monster but what no one wants is the shitty hay phenos.

If they could weed out the garbage and reduce it to 5 or 6 phenos I think people would be happy with that. In my experience strains like ssh have dozens of phenos, I've been growing mns hazes for years I never see the same pheno pop up more than once, every plant is different. Many are hay, plants that many would consider decent are few and plants people would consider excellent are rare, now mind you if you find that rare one you are in for a treat but they are not easy to come by.

If you are suggesting that NH is mostly bad phenos, then I think a lot of people that have grown it will disagree with you. It's phenos are loved by many sativa growers both outdoor and indoor.

I haven't seen anyone showing off their killer phenos of any of these strains in years. Any special plants I see are generally from pre 2008.

Could that be because this thread was dead for several years until someone revived it a few weeks ago?

Try other threads.

That's not fair bro and you know it
I've thrown out more haze females than any other strain I've grown
The point isn' that there is lack of bottle necking
The point is that due to lack of good selection, there is too much shwag in the haystack
Perhaps it's my definition of a killer haze that is the problem
Let me clarify it
If I'm not in a tear induced fit of euphoric giggles after 2 or 3 hits, it's shwag
Sure I love the smell of incense burning in the air
But I love to get high a hell of a lot more-lol
Haze blue balls is a real condition

Nothing against the Nevil its just that its not pure and no where near the pure 16-24 week Pure Haze. Its on my list tried old school sensi nl5 haze way back it was legit circa y2k. Imagine Nevil has put out a nice one in the mrnice. Thats what I am watching....

Grabbed a pack of the Nevil Haze as I cannot get over H33t's pics off the mns forum....simply grand! Stoked! Will go in as soon as they arrive next to old-timers purple haze if theres still room!
