irie, what kind of CO2 meter are you using? I have 4000w in flower and a dual-hose ac, and to keep my room pinned at 1500 i go through about 6 5-gallon/20lb LP tanks a month. Yeah, the dual hose might suck out the co2 over time, but given a good CO2 meter (I use the IGS) and burner, the only real difference a dual hose should make is the amount of LP you burn. And 3 1/2 weeks for a 40lb tank in a 5400w room sounds pretty low.
How close are your lights? You can really get them closer with 1500 co2 cuz they can actually process the extra lumens (as long as the lights are cooled). Drop'em down and get yield up. My .02.

i use that much propane to compensate for the dual hose. as long as I am pinned at 1500 ppm, i don't mind the $90 per cycle total propane costs. I'm just making the point in response to your "what the hell am I going to do?" that as long as your co2 ppm is always 1500, why are you complaining about the dual-hose? If you are having smell issues i understand, but yield issues are more likely your technique or strains rather than the dual-hose/co2 interaction.

the living plants look overferted, or the buds? the only things i use that i would consider an additive is enzymes and liquid humus. the enzymes are expensive so i mixed in the low end of the reccomended amount. i flushed for three weeks and got a real nice burn. the herb got nice compliments from the med users at the club....
