THE PABLOS

Thanks JJ for pointing out to the masses here our position regarding this highly debated topic. As administrators of this site, we are all most united on this topic.

So you come dine in this house here provided by a gracious host, enjoy your meal while socializing with other guests, yet take a dump in the front yard, while belching from the fine cuisine you ate. ICMag is comprised of members from all around the globe where the majority are in locations that cannabis is still taboo, and fall under draconian laws concerning this very misunderstood plant. California is but a dot on a much bigger map...but is a place that many other locations around the globe both inside and outside of N.America might consider when reform to their own laws is sought. This topic has far reaching ramifications...much further than one state.

Although passage of this law serves only one state at this time, and on a state only level, maybe it brings about change on a Federal level, although I have my doubts,....and maybe the change brought about on a USA Federal level will have implications in adopting less strenuous laws elsewhere.....tax or no tax. That can be seen as nothing but a good thing for those who truly love the plant.

The only reason I can fathom that anyone would NOT wish to see cannabis legalized is one of greed. In my opinion, you should be thinking more outside the box as a member of this international community here, instead of inside your pockets. ;) Swarmy is as swarmy gets.

As a breeder, if legalization in California caused a snowball effect for legalization in other places around the globe, and in turn a diminished demand for seeds, then I look at that as a most positive move, but will continue working to preserve and improve cannabis genetics for myself irregardless. There will always be those who grow from clone, and there will always be those who want to find their own mother plant, or do their own seed making, from seeds provided by many different breeders around this globe as well.

If given the option to pay tax and not be penalized, or not pay tax and be penalized I'd gladly pay the tax....if I was in a California resident. And just because I am not, does not mean this topic is of no concern to me, or every grower, or those who rely upon it for medical purposes, or those who partake in recreational use, irregardless of location.

:thank you:

...I've dined and spent $1000s on seeds......doesn't mean I have to agree with his opinion.....way over there. As a California voter I rather resent the prompting and the moral crusade being pushed California's way...by many... no where near the state. How would you like somebody telling you how to vote....in your place of residence? I understand the issue and the emotion....but come on.

Do I need to agree with legalization.....this particular Bill....to be a member? If so....I'll close my account.....if not....I agree to disagree with the magazine and some of its members. It's a California vote....whether you think it's your business or not.

That was gross...I've never dumped in anyone's front yard....seriously.

One point I would like to make is that many of the communities of northern california were devastated when the logging industry shut down. That devastation was ameliorated by 215... which gave otherwise optionless people control over their lives. Many people from those communities are afraid of losing their livelihood again. To call them greedy is disingenuous and ultimately unfair. Its hard to think globally when you are worried about the economic future of your family.

yea, its true, aside from the weed they grow, NorCal sux...

sell your property and move to a state where homes cost a fraction and weed is even MORE illegal than in Cali. think of all the $$$ you can make for your family there

I think that if we can get this to pass then perhaps the cultivation of non-pyschoactive hemp for fiber to replace the lost timber industry, and medical industry, in the region.

As far as green living goes, hemp is the bomb, and if weed is legal I think it would be a good idea for cities to regulate the licensing and sale of hemp fiber as well.

Baby steps Bob.

Yes on legalization. If only to keep "reasonable suspicion" off of your door step. House smells like weed? Doesn't matter. Bong on your coffee table. Not a biggee. 4 pounds of bud in the closet? So what?

Of all the reasons... Legalization for everyone is the best one.

That's even more preposterous than licensing medicinal cannabis grown. Is cotton only grown with state license granted?

Ending industrial hemp prohibition is a no-brainer. But it should not be regulated any more than growing peanuts or raising livestock.

I'd welcome civilly stated opinions by those of similar love for the plant and those with a more well-rounded view of the ramifications (good or bad)....I'd do my best to open my mind to more than one possibility or opinion, and take from it what made sense to me, without showing such a biased opinion relating to my specific area. Knowledge and enlightenment gained from those who have already been a part of a fairly liberal system in such places as The Netherlands and Spain should be respected instead of met with condescending swarmy remarks disrespectful of the very place you are posting on. You can state your opinion, just don't get your knickers in a twist when others disagree with you. ;)

Urging all California voters to VOTE YES!

Btw...you are only unwelcome here if you breach the TOU of this site. ;)

As an administrator of this site.....anything posted in these here forums is my business....whether YOU like it or not.

Ahhhh, I see you edited your post to include another thought. I'll make one attempt to enlighten you, although I won't do your homework for you.
Analogy........look up the definition, I've no time to dictionary it up for you, given your continued condescending attitude instead of participating in a civil discussion. Maybe you should limit your posts to the California state forum, instead of venturing out into the more 'global' areas of this site where members, irregardless of their location, are posting. :chin:

California is the 7th largest economy inthe world. That means that there are only six nations that have bigger economies. California is only a state. When legalization and taxation are seen to work and the rest of the country see's the cash flow to the state I think more pressure will be put on the rest of the country to get on board. Lets face it most states are hurting for money as are the Fed's so tax monies are a big deal/ It's always about the money.!!

Good on you IC Mag - good to see you making a statement of support. I've been watching the forums too and seen a lot of self interested fear mongers spreading a load of rubbish about Prop 19. Hell yes - vote Yes.

I love ICMAG. love this community. my deepest respect to all the admins who got together to put together this thread.

you should understand though that it will be seen as offensive to some people who live in california to be told to vote a certain way by people not from here. it just will, even if you are right.

Think Globally, act locally.

This is an issue that effects every smoker and every grower everywhere. This is an issue that's international ramifications are so important everyone who has been effected by the US led war on drugs should have right of voice (or are the Americans saying now that the right to free speech belongs only to them?). Seems to me that if any Californians here are offended by IC Mag making its opinion known on their forum which is frequented by growers from around the globe, who in turn are persecuted by unjust and corrupt laws - those Californians can go elsewhere. Meantime I'm voting yes and I appreciate that IC Mag has implored others to do so. Vote yes to Prop 19!

also,

gypsies argument concerning the imf is in my opinion flawed and weak. the imf gives out money with conditions. nothing good comes from taking money from the imf. in fact doing so only makes it stronger.

i have no idea why i would want to support this regulation of cannibus act in order to allow less developed countries to enslave themselves to big money interests.

mullray: what country are you from if you dont mind me asking?

The US moron. Calif. Wake up - do you expect a legal commercially available product to remain tax free. This is the future and I'm all for it. How many times in your life have you argued for legalization? And now we are getting close you are arguing for prohibition and criminalization. It isn't perfect but its as good as we have for now.

"i have no idea why i would want to support this regulation of cannibus act in order to allow less developed countries to enslave themselves to big money interests." Are you kidding??? Seriously.... what a load excrement!

Oh shit just saw your Legalize it? vote here!. Lol - dude you are just one big contradiction. Vote in Calif bro - vote yes.

then why speak about your country in the third person?

"or are the Americans saying now that the right to free speech belongs only to them?"

seems fishy.

i dont care really, but you arent an american. no one refers to california as calif. i dont think ive ever heard the term, "load of excrement". the general flow of your english just doesnt seem naturalized. i taught english for a living to foreign students. good luck trolling as a, "calif".

Dude grow up. If you want to get into a battle of linguistics and desperate grabs at BS to undermine intelligent conversation let's go bro. But before you do Mr English teacher (where was that - Vietnam, Korea? or are you qualified with a post grad or TEFL, TESOL or CELTA so that you can teach in Thailand, Japan, and every other non English speaking country) note how we (Americans) spell words like realize and "legalize" with a Z while in "English" it is realise and legalise (with an s). Now genius -- check how I spell "legalize". So my friend let's discuss linguistics as you must have studied linguistics to have taught English (I know as I have CELTA which btw is Cambridge University and the most highly "recognized" qualification outside of post grad) let's go. Cool bro re adding "Support prop 19, support the IMF" - Gypsy Nirvana" you're clearly full of it and why now not explain to everyone here how supporting prop 19 is supporting the IMF. Cut with the lame fear mongering and support your ridiculous claims. I, for one, can't wait to hear it "localhero".
