I remember when it was your health that determined whether you did a sport ...

not whether you can afford the occasional trips to the ER that come with some sports.

From over $200 an oz for good quality outdoor to $100 an oz for the same. Am I bitching ? Oh hell ya I am , I made a good living busting my ass hauling soil and caring for my babies
It's the love of the plant. And for us, dirt toil....great exercise.

In some regards this is true, but the very same thing has been happening across nearly every product market,

let's take bookstores for example. . .

you can say " even though these big corporate retailers like amazon are supported with breaks from gov't you can still sell books, it all for love of the books "

well, not if you cant keep a shop open cause of it actually costs money to run a business and pay a decent wage to employees.

but I guess it all for love of the books,

and we all know amazon has got much more love for the books it sells than your local neighborhood booksellers.

I remember walking through the woods to the bus stop in the morning before school with my .22 or 12 gauge, shooting stuff on the way. I'd unload at the bus stop and when the school bus pulled up I left it next to the driver who made sure it was there for me to walk home with at the end of the school day. I wasnt the only one. Sometimes there 4 or so guns on the bus. We all kept our ammo in our pockets or desks during the day.
Led Zep,The Doors and others played on the bus 8 track and we could smoke butts as long as a window was open. My how times have changed.
