I can remember our family getting our first mobile phone, it must have been 1968 or so. We were absolutely amazed with the technology at the time, even though the great innovation was really just a coiled extension cord, but jeez now you could take the phone into the basement stairwell and have a proper private conversation. What yokels we all were!

stupid happy yokels...

I remember tossing plates of crayfish into the blazing fire as everybody had had enough, now to buy over 100 bucks a kilo.

I remember when I would step into the house at the end of the day and smell what was for supper.

Then hear those sweet words hello dear. Then I always got a little snuggle and a hug.

Missing my sweet wife today.

Does anyone else on icmag remember when this was all there was to downtown Negril?
I've only met one other guy here, who remembers it from those days...

There were only about 100 or so American tourists there at a time back then....and they were all long haired hippie types...

It sure was a cool place visit in those days... and it made a great base camp, from which to make week long excursions back into the hills....

Can't remember that, (not ever being there), but quite familiar with several "hippie communes" in the SW back in the late '60's, early '70's. New Buffalo and The Farm come to mind.
