HP Stadium

This is a stadium I set up a year and a half ago. It's a 20 foot long single with 9x1000W(cheap halides only). He was pretty green when I built that for him but he manages to get between 12-14 lbs when he isn't screwing it up. He's told me to let him learn on his own basically so I'm a spectator only.

I tried a new idea with that room. I enveloped the end out, like a triangle so that big Can 200 and 1200 cfm blower with 12" flex wouldn't be in the way. It has worked wonderfully.

This isn't one I set up but it's by the person who co-designed these rooms with me a long time ago. He actually is holding the record for most in a 4k x 4k flip flop or dual room. He came in at just a shade under 16 lbs. Missed by a couple of ounces.

Here's what to consider and underlines my logic on overlapping light. His rooms are 9 feet long because of space limitations. He is running 40-50 less plants than our standard number for a 10 foot room. More plants and stretching light means shit and he proves it. That was with the cheapest $35 MH on the market. No HPS.

He designed his room with plywood walls painted white. He has them joined together with hinges. Landlord calls and wants to come by...he pulls hinge pins and it all collapses and to the storage unit it goes.

Stadium set-ups are sick and are workin' very well fer you an' tha crew NF. Was just goin' thru tha thread , and 1 topic i want to touch on , was tha use of sativas in tha stadium application . Having no experience with tha product but read favorable reviews to it's use , is BushMaster , stopping vertical growth . Might be worth lookin' into .
Corrugated plastic , like tha panels used fer cheap awnings and such , will work well in a recirculating system , catching run off and diverting it to rez' .
Again , lookin' killer NF .
CB , very clean , though I'm not sure of any advantage of angling yer platforms , as plants always tend to grow "up " , ya know .

Be well all ,
Steele

It took me an hour to up load these two pics and post them. Seems any servers over seas are giving me bad gateways. I may be off of icmag til I can get satellite Internet. I don't know how much more I can take.

Anyways, been busy the last couple of days. The Kush harvest is in. I think I did better than expected. We'll see in a few days. I had some major nPH issues in the final 10 days but all in all it was excellent bud.

Wish I could of let that Northern Lights X Blueberry sativa pheno way in the back finish but I took it down. The room is about to be on 24h.

It's a bit much for my needs, but I love seeing your stadium grows!

Having been on dial-up for 10 yrs, I know your frustration. I was thinking satellite too, but lo & behold, they brought cable up my dirt roads last spring.
What a difference!

Anyway, good luck w/ the PH problems. Certainly looks dialed in from those shots! All the best, HL

Hey NF, Boy that sure is a nice filled room. Sorry, to hear it took so long to upload pictures. I know I sure enjoy the pictures. Thanks for taking the time to share. I've got a Blueberry x C99 that you might want to give a try later on down the road. I knew a guy that was pulling some major weight with it and finished up pretty nicely. Didn't take long at all and was a very good over all strain. I'll get some seeds going and share them when I get a seed harvest in. Thanks again for sharing you setup and grow with us. Can't wait to give it a try myself.
Take care,
BG

Awesome grow NF! I wonder if I could do that in small spaces, say, 2X5 with only 7' tall cab or something. Would be interesting. Killer gro man!

NF, what is the size of the PK when initiated to 12/12 and what size did it finish at?

Reason why im asking is im building a small grow cab, with 2 150w hps lights in it. I plan to do a micro stadium (4 plants on each side of the lights, no real shelves though, all plants will be at the same height.)
My grow cab is 27" tall inside and my 1gal pots are 7" tall, thus leaving me 20" max for plant growth. Im shooting for 15-18" though and have access to some PK clones. I know they are dead slow veggers and not much of a stretcher either so i was trying to figure out how to get them dialed in to end up at about 18"

How did the PK yield? Did you do any trimming to achieve 1 main cola or did you let all the side branches grow? Im shooting for 14g per plant and anything above that will be great.

THe diminsions of my cab are 27" tall, 22" deep and 30" wide. Im planning on putting the 2 150w hps bulbs in the middle, vertically, with a 4" exhaust going up and out of the cab right in the middle of the lights, there will be 4 plants on either sides of the lights, should be just about right as the plants will be nice and close to the lights.

Do you turn the plants 1/4 turn or 1/2 turn when you turn them? SHould i turn them every time i water(2x a week) or just once a week?

Thanks!

To be honest I cannot put my mind to figuring out how much PK will stretch in a cab with 150w bulbs. I can tell you that I let the average plant in my last run veg to about 5 or 6 inches. Some straggle and some get ahead of that. I also threw some tall ones that stretched under floros waiting for the rest of the clones that were too tall for anything but the bottom shelves. When all was said and done the average pl;ant was still under 18" high. I had mostly short ones on the top shelf to give the bigger ones the best light for weight.

I don't manipulate the plants at all. I let them grow and take off some of the fans to let light in. The PK has big stubborn leaves. I don't yet know my final weight but I think I did above average for this strain...maybe. It's common to get 1.2 to 1.4 per 1kw with this cut.

I turn my plants once a week, 1/2 turn. Lots and lots of info in this thread...

Well I'm glad we lived to see the day you tried some HPS bulbs again NF :smoke:
Been using 1MH per 2HPS for yrs...even tried all HPS for a yr...I like it better with a MH in the mix for sure.

Don't forget your new home too Eh Budday! ;)

My final weight on this last run was 12.75. That works out to a 1.6/Kw which comparing to all my buddies growing PK is above average. They mostly get 1.2-1.4 per 1kw.

If I was running HP I can safely say I would of reached 15 or damn close to it.

I swear I was locked up for the last 10 days. My Pro Mix this time has dolomite mixed in to buffer the PH swing I suffered. Two thirds of the way through I also switched to RO water.

Very nice haul NF. Thanks for sharing the grow and all the info with us. I know I've learned allot for your thread. Can't wait to setup a stadium at my next location. I think the major thing I've got from this thread is. Over lapping light and rotating the plants. The stadium setup is one of the best use for the amount of verticle space. I still like the Coil's and grow Cubes, but I really enjoy this setup. This setup lets you walk in and check all the plants. I like that allot. Great job and thanks again. Enjoy the smoke.
Take care,

In my neck of the woods...some major issues were had for a couple crops.
As it turned out...it was those ****in white bagged HP's.
Went back to SS#4...BANG! Problem solved.
Apparently they still make the black bagged HP, and I guess it would be the same as it always has been...but no one seems to carry it now. Just that white bagged crap.

Wowzers.

It took me a while, and i wanted to read it all before commenting.

This thread has revived my interest in vertical growing, or should i say, STOG! LoL

Next run I'm in for a complete grow redesign and i think shelves will be in the building.

3*600 watt hps / 3 shelves / 2 gal coco grow bags / dutch leach tray for overflow/

pondliner on the floor for sure!

Thanks for the tip on the folded lip of the growbags. Sometimes it's the little

differences that make all the difference. This thread has been helpful in so many ways,

I can't even express my full gratitude.

I've read about the efficiency of stadium grows, but seeing one is different from reading about them.

Peace, Love & Coco
