a few get busted around my way (uk) for sloppy odor control. A story in this weeks local paper, firemen went to a house on fire, needed to use the house's next door attic to access the blaze found 20 cannabis plants, bad luck a few get busted because of their grow being a fire hazard. When we get snow (rarely) police will go out in a helicopter to see which houses have melted snow on the roof, meaning the potential for an attic grow, and with that infra red thermal imaging camera to see in general the possible growers. There have been these signs posted up in our local area recently 'dealers aren't labelled, tell us who they are'. They didn't stay up for long lol, seems only the cannabis growers get ratted out

I knew a guy who got busted being stupid. As a couple of you pointed out, driving around while smoking isn't a good idea. He was pulled over, had the stink going on in the car. They took him to jail then searched his house. Found his plants, unregistered gun (WW2 issue from his grandpa - yeah they get you for anything, and put him in jail. Put a ton of pressure on him so he ratted out a few major crack dealers. He disappeared soon after. Who knows!!!! Not to say that I agree with ratting - it's not right - but a few less crack dealers never did hurt anyone. Just prolonged the life of a couple crackheads for a few days.

I don't tell anyone shit about what we do. Not anymore. We get our smoke from the same guy we've been going through for a long time, once a month, and then take it home and leave it there. I do a complete check of the car/truck every time I go and I always obey all laws while driving. Safest way to go - GROW. Then no one will ever have to know. We're just getting to the point that we're able to. Thinking of stocking up on a couple months supply just to get us through a grow then severing all ties with dealers. Just too risky dealing with people you're not with 24 hours a day. You don't know what just happened to them in the time you haven't been with them. They could have cops right behind them and you wouldn't know it until you slipped up.

have fun all - BE SAFE!!! To all you youngin's out there - Find a safe place to smoke on private property that you have permission to be at. Smoke there - not it your car. That's just asking for trouble. I see kids rolling joints at stop lights almost daily. I always roll down my window to let them know that they're being stupid and everyone knows what they're doing.

Oh yeah, and best of all, we don't look like the stereotypical potheads either. Straight and narrow type people. (except for the George W protest sign in my yard for the past 2 years) That tends to help. Dress like the rest of the locals do and you won't stand out. I have NEVER heard a story of the cops busting STRICTLY on hydro useage. Hydro usage (except in bc now, thanks to the new fucken by law) hydro usage is always second on the list...a rat said this, so they checked hydro....a smell came from the house so they checked hydro bills.

If you live in a house with a 100amp panel and you are using 60amps, who cares, just pay your bill. I know people in the US will argue with me, and that's fine you guys have to be more paranoid then us Canadians.....If my power bills are $100/month or $3000/month, I dont care, I'm paying it and I'm not concerned...

If you have a large main panel, and plan on doing a grow, put the hydro under a biz name "2nd St. Welding Co." This way the high bills wont raise any suspicions.

It's a bit different in Canada, I mean if the cops want in they WILL get in. But it is actually quite harder here to get a search warrant, I've talked to friends who are now police officers, and they have told me it can take close to a year to get a warrant here. Unless they have reasonable suspicion, so if you keep your shit tight (no smell, no rats, no people coming and going, just basically not a heat bag) you will be fine....

I totally understand what you mean about the RCMP, they are very good at their job, the majority of them. They more they hang out with US wannabe "rambo's" (aka: DEA) the more they want more toys, and want to use those toys more. It's like the army creating all these cool and sophisticated weapons and not having a war....better invade somewhere so we can justify spending billions to X company (which most of the fuckers have stocks in).

I think right now, besides gun laws, our weakest link is allowing FLIR to be used which I think is bullshit.

I believe it was around 2000, there was a case of FLIR being used on a farmhouse in the country, and they fought it and lost. Therefore giving cops the go ahead to use FLIR. Now they dont use it very often, and i havent read about a lot of busts due to it, but they CAN use it. Most of the time they catch people here by stealing power. So all the organized gangs, keep stealing power!! Keeps LEO off personal growers backs!!

Ya we are starting to get all these gung-ho type motherfuckers into LEA's (law enforcement agency) up here in Canada now.

I like watching that show on A&E called S.W.A.T, lol, shows these guys using tanks to tear down a house cause some dude is selling an Oz of weed. I'm sure the guy who rented out the house realy appreciated them tearing down his investment, fucken morons. That show just shows you how these ex-juice monkeys behave, it's like watching all the jocks who used to pick on the pot heads, geeks etc growing up and cant pick on anyone anymore so they become cops, just so they can play with toys and beat people up. It really drives me insane.....The cops really, really need to be taught how to deal with their adrenaline. You can see it before a raid they are practically banging heads, and grunting......*sigh*

Oh god, that case in Alberta set us back so far. They made it out like he was ONLY a grower, but all the cops knew about him, he was a known pedofile, he was known to have weapons, the grow was just the iciing onthe cake with this guy. But they made the grow out to be the MAIN point.

As a MJ advocate, I was quite pissed with the media who really pointed fingers at grow ops.....

Plus the cops radio's didnt work properly, not sure if you guys knew that, but they had faulty equipment to call for back up.....

I enjoyed you and lugen's back and forth moose eater, good stuff.

I get rid of leaf matter by using scissors or snips to cut up the stocks and leaves into smaller pieces, then composted mixed with the rest of my normal compost. Once it's cut up it's much less identifiable, and will break down with other matter in about a week to the point where it's almost green slime.

Not cutting it up I could find pockets of whole leaves still intact a month later when on the top of the compost pile and stirred.

I also mix in my left over soil mix with each bag or container of compost I bring out to the heap. This allows me to dispose of the medium with out having all that perlite exposed to the surface of my garden. Once the perlite has been in compost for a few months it blends into the background much better, and is no longer bright white.

Just a quick comment about garbage bags.

DO NOT CMEMORY OUT ON GARBAGE BAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy the contractor grade heavy duty ones, otherwise you'll have dirt all ove ryour house from the bags ripping, lol.....been there done that, not fun when you have X amount of bags and 1/2 of them rip, very frustrating in the house then you have to clean out the car, cause they spilt everywhere while taking them to the dump

it should be said that I consume a ton of fruit and vegatables daily, the leaves/stocks make up less than 10% of the weight on an ongoing basis. and I run a perpetual harvest, so only get a few plants worth of trim at the same time, making it easier to disperse if you keep on top of it. and I'm in an area of the world where the LEO are not going to dig into my compost heap and sort out leaf scraps, let alone unshredded leaves, as i am pretty much the smallest of minnows..


If I was growing mersh on a bit of land I would probly use some sort of shredder like you suggest, and still compost it. If I had too much to compost I would probly dig a circle about 1' deep (several feet from the tree) around a tree for each harvest, and fill the ring, add a bit of soil, and replace the sod. I have done this before with compost and fresh leaves and it's unoticalble weeks later and the trees absolutely love it.

Or you could let it all dry out for a few days and crumbled it all into fine piece, which you could probly spread under you bushes, on your lawns.. set free off your balcony in small batches.. belive me, once it's dried and crumbled it doesn't look like mj anymore than mint tea.


I used to actualy burn in a residential area before I grew, you know, bank/credit/employee shit after every couple years, to save hrs over the shredder... But I stopped that as soon as I started growing, as it's just not worth the risk. but if you're allowed to burn, and do it with wood, paper, maybe a lil gas for fun, nobody is gonna notice it. Unless maybe you dump a few lbs of bud on the fire...

Quick question:
when you guys mention hydro bill, are you referring to the water bill(ok..maybe a stupid quick question).

The only reason i ask is because running a hydro setup with a reservoir or watering soil plants with tap water doesn't seem like enough to raise a red flag. You guys talking about using an actual pipe from the waterline with a valve & all for watering?
In that case, i guess it could get big

Mooseeater I'm not sure if your a lawyer or not but tell us how you/someone you know got busted not disposal of mulch etc. You opinion is valued if not a little displaced.
