As to the question, nothing, necessarily. Or, there's certainly many forms of education, only some of which have anything to do with formal schooling.


As for the statement - believe what you want, but no formal education I ever received was effective as a means of indoctrination. Blanket statements like that just sound ignorant.

This was real life education different from school. If you got an F in school....ok but if you flunk out in the real world you loose your business..

So I ask you....what box do I check....two types of learning....book smart and the real world education...

I left school at 15 years old - I was bored in class because I already knew what they were trying to teach so many 'slow' students and was tired of their tribal feudalism - in a UK comprehensive state school - I always had my hand up - and was usually near the top of the class in the subjects I was interested in - biology, history, English and geography -

The best education I had was travelling the world for decades - thru over 50 countries and many cultures - studying them - and living within them - and even to this day I am still keen to learn - and spend most of my days researching all sorts of subjects - even though I am 58 years old now - you are never too old to learn.

A person's level of educational attainment isn't necessarily correlated to their station in life. My father never got a college degree (he started but didn't finish), because he didn't need one to go into his chosen profession. If he were coming up now he would need a degree, etc. On the other hand, over the years I've known many people who had computer programming skills before that was commonplace, and they got good paying jobs because of it. By my understanding that's become more complicated as there's a new load of compsci graduates each year.


I suspect it helps a lot to be an entrepreneur. If you're working for someone else you're always at the mercy of the newer shinier model coming along and stealing your hard earned spot.



Most certainly agreed that formal education and street smarts are not related.

Wow, I detect some hostility there my friend. But I beg to differ. If you work harder, smarter and longer you can still get ahead in this country. I busted my balls working my way to the position I got....I have swam in the water with the big fish and am still swimming....luck has nothing to do with it unless you have rich parents....the only thing my parents left me was an unpaid loan....

First you need a good work ethic....many millennials don't have that today. Like you said NO OFFENSE but it is true. Your generation wants to start out as a manager, at $100,000 a year with six months off and you are burnt out at 22......

The school systems prove nothing on ones own intellectuality that is honestly based on life's experiences altogether I say fuck the school system until it's fixed to not train people to be sheep.

To me life is an endless school and I will never stop learning not even a thousand lives later as I reincarnate after each life is over.

Education is extremely important if projected correctly and not as it is in America (USA) I can't say I'm happy with my accomplishments through our current education system as I have learned the most important things after my time in k-12 didn't even wanna go in debt going to college... Just my perception though

Don't give up hope. College isn't the answer. I will give you the best advise ever.

Save every penny you can and then sign up for a Electrician course. They aren't much and some states pay for it at unemployment office.
I guaranty you will get a apprentice job in a heartbeat. Then keep working on getting your master's. My buddy bought 4 houses in 5 years cash in Vegas. Casino's need electricians 24/7.
