Quick Update.

I was away for 2 days and come back to my biggest fem having all her fan leaves ate off by a caterpillar... I didn't know what it was at first then I was doing some yard work and spotted and hairy caterpillar. There hasn't been any more damage though. I have 3 new sprouts but Ill take pics when there is more progress. We've had a little heat wave and temps were in the 100s.... Their seeds are starting to fatten. I think I may pull them in a week or so...

Thanks for stopping by M8. Deff pull up your chair and have few puffs.... I think the ladies need to be harvested within the next few days. I was just out checking on them and some of the preflower pistils are turning brown. Almost like they are over done... However the main buds are still putting out new white hairs. I think I should give them another week anyways just to make sure the seeds are mature. I will check them with my magnifying glass today to check where the trichs are at. Temps have started to cool down a little. Should be better for the little sprouts I just Started. I will be starting another run when I get these mature ladies out of their pot. Stay tuned....

Hey Hooka. just be sure they are done. Trichs have no bareing on when seeds are done. your preflower browning is fine. you are making them for seed so treat them as seed plant, 3-4 weeks after the day of pollenation is a rule of thumb, can go 5 weeks., or wait until you start to see the seeded pods turn slightly yellow. This will ensure extra ripe seeds. When did you pollenate?

I pollinated a little over 2 weeks ago. I can see some of the seeds already. They are nice and fat. Some are almost half way out of the seed pod. This is my first time every trying to make seeds. First time trying AFs too.. I will let them go another week or so. Thanks for the info ICC

Raz they are only available on seed bay, through crazy x seeds I believe... lineage is Masterlow x Mazar.

HHH..JEM..Mazar x original LR..no masterlow.
Let those seeds go a bit longer m8..better over-cooked than under-cooked.
When you have worked so hard you don't want to harvest a load of preemies.

Find a middle bud and nip a calyx top..if it sticks to the seed it is not ready.
If it feels loose and papery and rips off the bud clean..they are ready.
If in doubt..
Take 1 mid-bud off first..air dry..
and see what percentage mature seed you have on that before you take the whole plant down.

I know you just want to get your lips round that bud and I don't blame you..she looks sweet..but patience is a virtue as far as seed is concerned...

Thanks for the Clarification on the lineage mossy. I will deff wait longer then. The seeds seem to be fattening up everyday. Would you say the seeds turn from green to black when they're getting close to done? I will take your advice as you have made a lot more seeds than I. You are right I do just want to sample those buds... :wink: They have a nice earthy smell right now. Nothing that will compromise your security but a nice smell. I don't have a prob with anyone posting in my thread. I'm sure everyone was wondering where you were as much as I was. Do you think you're going to start a thread for 09? I want to see how the alf4's are doing m8.

I took two manificent Non-af ultra indys off the patio early thinking the smell was coming from them..
turns out it was the ALF#3...DAMN..
It would be bloody ironic if I have finally made my Ideal girl..and I cannot grow them because of the Stench.

Spot on.

What worried me was the fact you could See them.

Some of them are bad Moms and don't wrap the seeds properly..
probably for wind dispersal..
But sometimes if you are a bit off season when you pollenate...
the ones you can see are Aborts and won't brown up.

Easily checked..
just nip one off and chomp down on it..
if you just get a crack and a puff of air..they are aborts..
if you get a crack and a sweet sweet nut ..they are viable.

Damn Mossy... I'm gone for a few days and this thread is blowing up ha... Nice plants M8, the ladies are doing amazing over there. Hope I can get something near that this season... I may have to chop my ladies tmrw as I will be going away for 7 days. I'm going to do some fishing and camping up in the hills. be nice to smoke on some fresh home grown. Maybe take some solar hits up there. Ill check the seed progress. If they need to go longer I may just chop one lady and leave the other two to finish up. When I get back Im goin to start a new batch of seedlings. Pics to follow tmrw...
