Well heres the pics from today. Temps have been a little cooler as of late. I tested a seed the way you said Mossy. The seeds deff have something inside. They are not hollow. They look to need at least another week though. I'm going to let them get growing. I'm leaving on wendsday and should be back in a week or so. By the time I get back they should be ready to be chopped. I will start another run the same day they get the axe. I have 3 seedlings that are doing ok.... Seems the soil I bought is not supposed to be used in pots. It doesn't drain at all... One of the seedlings is showing signs of over watering. I'm going to have to get a new bag of soil , the super soil I ussually use. Ill try mixing it with some peralite to keep it from getting so compacted. I think I'll just plant those 3 seedlings in the ground in my vegetable garden. That pot or soil they have is deff not working out... here's the pics. Not too much going on just seeds slowly getting ripe. The ladies are still pushing out white hairs though

Yes I am making my own "Black Gold" as we speak. The soil I bought is some organic soil , but for the garden I guess. I didn't know till after i planted the seeds and saw on the bag, "not for use with potted plants" I don't see how that can be but oh well. Ill just stick to the soil that has always worked for me.

No need to worry Mossy I already planted those 2 sprouts in my veg garden. Hopefully they'll take right off. When I get back I'm goin to germ a new batch. I may start some in smaller pots to plant in with the veggies. Maybe put a few more in the bigger pot too. Well see how much the sprouts grow when I get back.

it gets easier once you say it the first time...

What I was thinking..if you have any spare seed..is to pop a few Direct into the veg garden before you go away.
Drop them a little further down in the soil than normal..water well..and keep your fingers crossed while you are away.
You could come home to a few sprouts.

Just a thought..

Got a cracker for you on the mixed pot idea..
I had 11 Jems in a 20 ltr pot..less than 2 lts compo per plant.
and harvested over 100g's dry in 8 weeks.

You cut the harvest per plant way down..but multiply by 11 ..and you are laughing.
You need to be there day to day for the watering..with that many per pot..
they need fluids at least once a day.

Thats another good idea M8. Ill plant a couple more beans right in with my tomatoes. Jeeze mossy that pot is packed. Yeah the more plants you have the faster they use that water up. Ive been watering my seeded ladies almost every other day. Their pot isn't all the way full with soil though and is out in the hot sun all day. Well Im off to do some fishing for the week. See you guys when I get back. Should be harvest time by then....

I haven't had a chance to check on the girls yet.. The fishing was great up there... Caught so many trout it wasn't even funny haha.. I'll get some pics and a report up later. Need to go water the veggies and tend to some yard work.

Well I finally made it back from a long camping trip up in the hills. Temps there were in the 70s-80s F. with some low fog in the morning. Caught so many fish up there it was laughable. Most were about the same size, 11 - 12in. One of the days we were there it was real foggy so I went out fishing by myself. All of a sudden I get a bite and set the hook on a fish. I could tell it wasn't the standard size from the start. Ended up being a 16in. trout. Deff bigger than the other ones we caught. Overall it was a good trip. Ate more than our fair share of those trout though.. mmmm.....
Got back to home and temps were in the 100s F.... Those three seedlings planted in the garden were doing fine. One is deff a male already. The other two I cant really tell yet. The other seeds I planted had not popped yet. I buried them deeper than usual and gave them a good soaking of water today. We'll see if anything happens. I'm soaking some more seeds as we speak. I will try just planting them straight in my garden so no transplanting at all. Today was also time for the chop on my 3 ladies. The seeds were deff done when I checked them today. I was trimming some of the bigger dead fan leaves and a few nice black seeds fell out. There are more seeds but I will let them dry before I try picking them out.

Hey I got a question about the seeds. Should I pick them out of the buds already? some have already fallen out when moving the buds around. They buds are dried out and the seeds that have come out look nice and black. Just looking for info , this is my first try and making seeds...

Stunning shot on the boat launch..love the fish too.
Can't see the point of catching them if you are not going to eat them.
You will be busting with omega 3 fish oils now..it can only be good.

Spot on with the seeds..you would never tell it was your first time.

I find the easiest way is to let them dry in the bud..which you have done..
then gently work your way from the bottom of the bud..with your thumb and index finger and just squeeze...you can feel the lumps.

I normally do mine over a dinner tray..because there are alway some that try to get away.

You could probably get a germ on them Now..
(I have even germed some off the Mom when she is still in the ground..just as a test)
BUT they tend to be a bit sporadic..or you will get a flush of males.

so if time allows..giving the around 10 days gentle drying will give much better results.

Seeds you make yourself are always sweeter..

Thanks Mossy the forests up there are beautiful M8. Especially when you get that low morning fog rollin in over the hills from the coast. I will try to get most of the seeds out today. Didnt think there was that many in there till the buds dried up a little bit. Then you could see where all the seed pods were with seeds about to pop out. I'm soaking a batch of my original AF seeds right now. I will plant these straight in the veggies and hopefully get a lot better yeild this time. Out of those three seedlings I already planted in there one is a male, one looked like it got topped or something when it sprouted and is a female. The last is still unknown but is looking the best. Bout to try a sample of these buds right now finally............. .........
