Hola @Hombre del mont :) really nice selection for this outdoor season! Decissions are hard to take when space is limited, so the fact you are including several ACE genetics into the garden is much appreciated.

I will be able to identify better the phenos on Zenith after early flowering stretching.

Killer A5 Haze is a great replacement for GT, although the terpene profiles are different, both produce super strong and long lasting effects that are most enjoyable in the afternoon when you don't need to do important things after that. Happy to hear the old Destroyer seeds germinated and that your yoga teacher is going to help you to grow a couple of pure Hazes 🥰 so kind of her!
I would've a fool not to include your genetics!
I feel lucky to be able to grow outside in your wonderful country.

I'll just have to take a guess with the zenith. I'm not really able to start to flower outside without putting them into the earth. No worries.
I can always share half and half with whoever I give the others to.

Good to see you back Calle!.

Buenos Dias a todos!

So the new season haS begun. I really miss it when I'm not growing!

As regular readers will know, last year my health was not what it should be and my girls didn't get quite the attention that they normally would have.
Thankfully both Mrs DM and myself are in good health and life is back to normal, though she's over in the UK at the moment visiting the kids and I'm having to fend for myself🙁.

Last year I managed to get away with hardly using any bought fertilizer etc. and this year, hopefully, it'll be better still.

Around February, I dug out about 30liters of used soil from each of my growing holes and replaced it with rotted horse shit, worm castings and some home made compost and dug it well in.
The holes were covered over with a 20cm layer of hay. Over the last few months the hay has decomposed down to about 5cm thick and the earth below it is teeming with insects and worms!

So this year we have,

Killer A5 haze fem.

Zenith fem

Destroyer (2005).

Destroyer#23

Zamal x Jamaican blue mountain/Thai A5 haze

I'm also going to be doing a Green haze 19 A5 and a Icmag Haze in large fabric pots at my neighbours, in her enclosed patio. Hopefully, I can get them to finish properly.

The regulars were started almost 2months ago and other than the Zamal x Jamaican blue mountain/Thai A5, went into the ground just over a week ago and I have already begun training them to grow out horizontally. The Z x JBM/T still haven't shown their sex.

The fems were started just over a month later and the day before yesterday I put a Killer A5 haze and a Zenith into the ground.
Yesterday morning when I got up and went out to do my usual early morning inspection, I was horrified to find that either slugs or snails had been and had a good munch of them both! Little bastards! In hindsight (always great!😂) it was my own stupid fault. I buried the little plants deep and pulled some of the hay mulch right up to the stem and underneath the bottom leaves. I didn't think about slugs and snails; we do have them, but not usually in June. I'd not though about the recent rain that we had, plus I transplanted them late afternoon and watered them in well.

We live and learn. And I'm learning more each year.

Thankfully I have spares and I've already replaced the zenith and will replace the Killer later in the day. This morning I've been into the village and bought myself some slug pellets. That ought to sort them out.

Nice looking gardens! Plants have a good start! The Destroyer x Deep Chunk x TH Haze have leaves that don't look quite as wide. Usually the Deep Chunk is dominant in crosses, but not always. Its only a component of the hybrid of course, and Haze is showing up. It has that thick indica stem though. Looking forward to watching the garden! :smoke:

I've never grown DC but had read that it usually dominant in crosses and was expecting the leaves to have more of an indica look to them.

Another day of rain I'm afraid, although we do need it. Hopefully it'll stop soon and I can go and replace the slugs pellets.

Sure, I recognise that. It's almost 50 yrs since I did biology, but I remember learning about genes and using sweet peas in an experiment, I think to do with colour?
I'm hoping that the smell is not to dominant. The`reason that I don't usually grow any indica genetics is because of the strong smell, but when I received the seeds, i couldn't resist. 3 classics combined, zamal, deep chunk and Tom Hill haze. The deep chunk x Tom Hill haze was made by @Raco I believe; so as you can see, I'm excited.

Here's hoping you get one that's low odor then :D I think I might have some seeds from that Haze DC cross, and Moño Rojo x DC also from maese Raco.

Heavy indicas can be a little too heavy sometimes. DC is also good because of it being true breeding and mostly homozygous genes, Haze may not be real true breeding, but Tom Hill has been working it toward being true breeding homozygous. Zamal/Destroyer is probably pretty true breeding homozygous.

When you cross 2 homozygous lines you get the highest level of heterozygocity and more hybrid vigor. With these types of hybrids it creates more vigorous plants, stronger potency potential, also the creation of special phenotypesl! :smoke:

Hombre del Mont, I am moving to Spain soon so I keep a close eye on what people are doing outdoors there.

What region are you in and where does your water come from? Your garden and surroundings look very green.

Best,
P
@Podenco , we're right down in the south, Las Alpujarras.
Our irrigation water comes from mountain springs and it's channelled through acequias that were originally made by the Moors back in the day.
I'd you have land, you get so much a week on a rota.

There are many Podencos here already, but they have 4 legs🙂

I'm not a fan of heavy indicas really, though would like some for the evenings.

She's certainly for hybrid vigour.
!And the possibility of finding a special pheno. Exciting. 🙂
