just gonna leave this here:

25 ton press, heated plates up to 650f, and the best part is? not related or marketed to the weed world
only downside is the pricetag im sure

ya lab presses are pretty much exactly what we need. unfortunately the price tag makes them out of reach for most of us.

i dont like that protective sheild either. i need more space around the sides for collection.

What kinda yeilds is everyone getting from bud with the 600lb grip?

I just did 3.5g of GSC forum cut and got .45 so I think that is around 13%. Decent but was hoping for higher.

I squish 2 grams an get anywhere from .4-.5 that gives 20-25% with frosty strains.

Sounds about right for me too. Only been at this game for about week, so bit to learn yet. Read and watched for a while, did a sample test with the wifes straightener, was very surprised so yeah, plan to build a large press in the next couple months, figured this would do for now and I love it lmao, the thing cracks me up though lol.

I tried fresh frozen, trim, kief, buds, and bubble hash. Been doing buds the most. I have got some like clear/white looking rosin, as well as the golder rosin. I think it was whiter from the quick presses.

Ide say I am avg 15 to 20% but I know I could press it again, but it gets a lil darker so I just let it be and keep the nice parts. This is from buds on my Blue Dream, and there not any amber trics on this buds yet(took one plants down at 73 days, should be about 4/5 more days on the rest) and they have only been hanging for 2 nights so far.

I ordered some empty tea bags, but I dont like them, I think they soak up to much rosin for me, I'm looking into those steel mesh ones. Def got alot more return from the bubble hash, but until I harvest the rest and have the trim ready, I will stick with pressing these buds. I would dry ice it and press the kief, but I think I need the mesh screens first.

I will take pics of start weight, and final weight tomorrow of a couple gram or an 8th run. Heres pic of mine, though it looks just like the rest of the HMK Presses lols. Rosin pic was from the other day, it comes out nicer looking now.

...sry for the rant, I blame the rosin...

*edit* forgot to add, I ordered a heat gun and I was pressing at about 190-220, for maybe 8 seconds, and only one press. I found I got more return from pressing small chunks. A 1 gram nug I might break into 4-6 pieces, and I seem to get like a 1/3 more weight than if I pressed it all at once...

Yeah, I been seeing/reading that. I have 2 bag sets, a 3 or 5 bag and an 8 bag I think. I dont wanna cut up the 8 bag, but looking for the other set. Was thinking either that or the metal mesh ones. We will see, when rest of plants are ready if I dont have it by then I will cut my bag lol. Love this rosin tho.

Hey cool, thread, I missed it somehow. Thanks for the shoutout.

I actually broke my Irwin quickgrip from pressing buds, and changed over to the vice grip style press, with an Irwin vice grip 11SP. Haven't had to mount it to the iron I am using yet, but someday I will. Its possibly a more efficient/higher pressure clamp. It is less time and effort to apply the clamp too. I just put it on the floor when sitting on a couch and can put all my body weight into it, and its just one quick clamping and its locked on.

Threw a cred on the first post, appologies. Much appreciated :tiphat:

Can anyone tell about the lowest temperatures in these Conair hair straighteners (pink plates ones)?

I have a D-Nail EU-model press, but everyone knows what they are. I've been thinking that I could move the heat plates in the shop press, maybe..

You should pick up an IR heat gun to check your temps, and as others have pointed out to me, if your surface is shiny it wont read the temps right, as I found out I was 100 degree dif than I thought I was...

Here are my results, this was from the first press, I did press again and got about .3 of not much darker rosin, and a 3rd press got about .1 but was darker so it went off to the side, those pics came out really blurry.

as a part time professional tradesman, I refuse to spend a dime on any IRWIN product, pretty much everything sold at lowes is considered "homeowner grade" while home depot is more "pro grade". that being said, my HMK press is made with the Dewalt, because dewalt makes quality tools from #2phillips drill bits to jack hammers....I've actually been hearing about quite a few of the irwin clamps breaking, go figure.

Great thread Art!

So who is working on mounting 4 sets of plates to a wall mounted bench vise? Wall mounted so it can be swiveled leaving horizontal plates to load, then swivel vertical so the rosin can drip towards the bottom.

It would be nice to produce4x as much for minimal work.
