How do you guys gather all the rosin together once you have squished it out all over the parchment paper?

How do you get all the goo off the buds and keep it on the parchment too? This looks like it would cause a lot of waste to buds. What about the bud once you have squished it??

I use a stainless steel pic an roll it up onto it. The buds have pretty much nothing left to take off an I use filter to wrap the bud. No waste at all, an I save the chips for a tincture.

I haven't been shocked yet, but the misses says one of our dogs will go sniff it get shocked, and repeatedly go back for more. I now don't leave it plugged in anymore. Of both our dogs, he would be the one to do it lol. Soon as they hear the bubble bubble of a pipe, they come sit by ya waiting to have smoke blown in their faces lol.

I did however, make a couple set of plates for the bigger press, while waiting for my nice big plates to be ready. those shocked me a few times lol.

Been squishing Killer Queen watermelon juice.

Put 7.4 grams of Killer Queen rosin into 20 something ml of Coconut oil to make 34 ml total of infused oil for cannacaps.

Squish on IC.

Alright, so I did my first real test of this thing this morning, squished some gg4 untrimed little nugs. I pressed about an ounce, 2 grams at a time. Ended up getting 2 grams return, so like 7.1%

Was wondering any yield increasing methods yall finding? besides squishing 1/2 a gram at a time, i dont have time ta do that right now. Actually finna upgrade soon to a big press but wanted to get it down better with this one first so im ready to go when the heavy duty stuff gets crackin...

This isnt the prettiest stuff, dont have any filter bags or whatnot.

I stuffed as much as i could in a cigar roller, then rolled it up real tight, then broke it apart in roughly 2 gram pieces... 14 2 gram smooshes gave me 2 grams.

Yeah thats not great. I can press up to 1.5 grams pieces and get around 20% with a good strain. It might be the strain you have, will only yield maybe 10% or so, but maybe its your tech?

How dry is it usually when u press it? I know some people said more wetter stuff yields better. I had put a few fresh leaves in with this the night before, so it was pretty moist. Does pre pressing help yields? I used this one I showed a few pages back,

same hair straightener from the tutorial, On the setting 15
pressed about 10 seconds per press, The material was pretty firey lil gg4 nugs, the little nugs that arent worth trimming. Im thinking maybe the 2 grams per press made the yields lower, maybe do one at a time....

yea def try compressing the herb as much as possible before putting it in the hair iron. try making little "snakes" like the inside of a way too tight joint---HMK suggested that one to me.

i def notice diminishing returns with the hair iron if i put too much herb in at once. i got the best yields from doing 0.5g "pebbles" (compressing the buds into little round spheres), although i eventually settled on doing 1--1.5g per press using two snakes side by side---although slightly lower the yields were satisfying and i could get through my material in half the time.

also i'd avoid breaking up the nug as much as possible. the finer pieces can clog the pathways the oil needs to travel along to escape the material. also it tends to darken the rosin.

i dont worry about left over oil in my chips, i just save them all up and do an ethanol extraction when i've got a ton. you can also just soak them in coconut oil for quick edibles (altho they're not as decarbed as you might imagine, so you'll still prob want to decarb before eating).

A friend asked me about bammer the other day, believe it or not. I was like hhhmmmmm.... think ill press all the chips together when i got enough and bring back bammer bricks! lol.

heady how hard do you pre press um? like a full press in one of these grips?

ya tight as you can get it.

i usually use this big ass 10 ton i put together nowadays but the HMK is still hanging next to my desk, and gets used surprisingly often.

it's a bulletproof design IMO.

right now the big press is out of order while i wait for a replacement part for the hydraulics. meanwhile the little HMK keeps on squishin

Those are all scissor hash, but I wanna wait to press them till i got some type of screen.
I rolled um up real tight in a cigar roller, then pressed um with a clamp like the one used to build the HMK.

This is them chopped up for later, 1-2 gram pieces, mostly around 1.2-1.5 Id say. This is 48 grams, so I'll report back tonight or tomorrow when i press um, hopefully with uh lil better yields...
