they also set new standards for gayness in rap with their new shit

true, but you can't really put the new shit in the same genre as the old shit. New shit = POP.

'The Pope and his folks got us under a scope
But for unknown reasons cuz we don't sell dope
That you distribute, we don't contribute, to your clandestine
activity, my soliloquoy, may be hard for some to swallow
But so is cod liver oil
You went behind my back like Bluto when he cut up Olive Oyl
Two things I hate lies and thieves they make my blood boil
Boa constricted, on my soul that they call'

touched by the wheels of steel
now tell me how you feel'

Just can't fuck with the classic outkast shit.

I like the direction they took though :biglaugh:

duuuuuuuuuude! i was bumpin this last saturday night. i was cruisin mountain road style eventually headed for my small outdoor plots. of course saturday night i was drinkin a 6pack and smokin bowls, anyways.......

i was bumpin black sands and a sheriff rolled up on me out of nowhere in the middle of the night, about 12 miles deep in the woods. about 2 miles from my shit.......open beer, bowl in lap, windows down, representing mystik journeymen, i pulled over and let him pass, he kinda drove by slow........i thought i was fucked, but he kept driving so i pulled behind him.

i poked along and let him get ahead eventually out of sight, then i stopped for a few to distance him.....phew. needless to say, i didn't check on my plants that night. but i did smoke the rest of my sack just to calm the nerves!!!!

that one's just for you hip hop heads...............

shyne, damn thats a blast from the past, puffy fucked him over big though

Indeed he did. But Shyne lived it like he talked it. His first ablum is a classic, i listen to it more than any other hip hop album i have. His song said " what you gonna do when shit hits the fan, take it like a man or snitch like a bitch" and he took it like a man and for that he deserves respect. His albumis just sick though

For me, who i listen to is like who i would be friends with. You don't want to hang out with someone who talks about nothing but themselves and how tight they are, so the same applys to music.

My top albums of all time in no order are:

Buck 65 - Man overboard
Mac Mall - Illegal business (93)
The Grouch - Fuck the dumb
Mac Dre - Ybb the album
Company Flow - Funcrusher plus

I'd have to say my favorite hip-hop artist ever is Buck 65. He's a genius, and is not afraid to do new stuff. Plus, he's got a huge catalog, and does the best live show.

I like a ton of stuff from the bay area between 1993 and 1997. Jt the biggas figgas first albums he produced were great, but he just started putting out too much stuff. I like everything khayree produced, and pretty much all the vallejo stuff that came out.

I like buck but only some of his shit. He's on some folk type shit now  Shit I heard eyedea on a dibbs track that was almost some fuckin emo pop rock shit :(

But the instrumental 'Killed by a Horse' is one of my all time favorites. Fucking inspiring man. I give buck props because he writes the lyrics, produces the beats, lays the cuts and scratches. He can make an entire album all out of HIS dome. Not many people can do that.

Fuck the Dumb is one of those examples of a classic album written and produced by only one guy.

yeah, i can't say i like it as much as the "square", and "man overboard" type material, but "secret house against the world" is a great album. He does all kinds of wierd shit on there and it grows on you. As i am getting sick of hearing the same stuff in hip hop, i like that he's doing new stuff.

I don't know what happened, i've just gotten sick of everybody. Mr. Lif has a new album that's good. Blueprint's 1988 is a great album, even though i don't like his collabs with rjd2. Not that rj is not great, but i just don't like that recycled soul sound. I also don't like anything that's trying to be poppy. I wish el-p would crunch aesop rock's vocals more so he would have his old delivery. I like how anticon makes unique stuff, but i don't like emo/indie rock whininess.

The people that sound fresh to me are lif, z-man, and lazerus jackson. They've got good voices, good deliveries, and good content. If you haven't heard z-man, or lazerus jackson please check them out. Also laz's disflex6 crew is good. Z-man has an album with a guy named gpek and there are some classics on that.

Check out Lazerus jackson's myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/lazerusjackson.....listen to bomb the factory and tell me that's not heat.

You can here z man at http://www.myspace.com/dontforgettobrag...........young drunk america is way too good. On his top eight is boac, who's old shit is fresh. The only one on his page i like is spitting images.
