High Alpine Guerilla Growing.......

hello there Fast Pine things are looking good!! The indica phenos of sensi star (I supercropped them) were 4.5 - 5 ft max. They are good yielders.I got minimum of half pound off my indica phenos.Dense colas. My two sativa phenos went into 3rd wk Oct.They were 8 ft tall and @ 5ft wide.I yielded close to a lb off each of those.I had one indica pheno you could smell 1/4 mile away.NO Exageration!! sorry my spelling stinks.I will grow SS again.
I really admire you for your tenacity Fast Pine.As someone said earlier"Your love of the plant is very apparent...and nice to watch.Your dedication is impressive. This time of the yr with the rapid growth make toiling a LOT easier...BL :headbange

Bushy bloomers....

Bushy bloomers....

...Its begun, Everything is flowering, the sweet purple is blooming fastest!..Im very excited..The heavy rain and hail has been splattering mud all over the plants, and breaking branches. The large fan leaves are gettin some puncture wounds..

I brought in a ton of cages and wide gauge fencing to make circular trellises, to keep the lower branches from gettin driven into the ground...Also brought in some landsacping material, put it down around the plants, to keep the mud splatter to a minimum....Many of the plants are quite large for being less than two months old, the only problem is that they are soooo close to the ground, so some drastic measures were in order..

Intense sun ,and indica dominant genetics are keeping these plants low and bushy..Some of them are wider than they are tall!....Ive never experienced nodespacing as tight as this...On the lower foot of the central stock, the node spacing is like 1inch apart!!..

............................................................

I had to add three more cans to the setup to handle the extra water I will be pumping during bloom..It was just 5 cans before.

Chrystal...Motherplant...

All four are Master Kush....They are the latest bloomers..Spitting there first pistils now..

..........................................................

6 more weeks to go..Just six weeks..

Thanks!..

Sooooo, Like 4-5 days ago, I planted a nice late season crop..Found a nice lush valley floor...Took all day to plant em,,,got FUCKED UP by the mosquitoes..

Gonn cruse back there today to give em some water, help em "grab", as monty says..Nice all season stream will allow me to fill my bucket and mix up a nice lil nute mix....Im on the Fox Farms solubles now...Open sesame baby!!

Alotta swiss miss, went out...those could still get as tall as three feet, Also put out more Sensi Star, and a good bit of Chrystal..The spot is about 1500 feet lower in elevation, than my other plots...Should me able to run those all the way up until mid Oct....Hoping that will me enough time for my sativa dominant Swiss Miss...

.....................................................................

Already making plans for next year...Almost sure im gonna get everything like three feet tall, before I put them outside in June...Either gonna use a heated green house, or fill like two rooms..

Also gonna try to find a spot thats lower in altitude..Would be great if I could find a remote spot with good cover, at about 5000feet, that could get me all the way into November!!!

As Im sure you can tell, 3 months isnt long enough to grow HUGE ,tomhill style plants, ya know..Really craving those large plants..So I must find a great way to seriously extend my season..Im thinkin a green house, with supplemental lighting, to keep em from early bloomin:confused:

Good to hear you are OK and things are going well.

If you are just looking for total weight of bud, don't you think it might be better in your case to have more smaller plants?

Yeah, Thats the philosophy ive always had..But Im just sooo damn sick of dealing with the mud splatter thats involved in having short bushes..Harvest season is wet, and the rain causes so much destruction..Ive had my crops in the past get destroyed by late season rains... Imagine nuggs the size of a football, caked in clay..Its a saaaaaad sight...

I figure, if I could kinda replicate a setup like tom hills, I would be much happier...The chopper stress isnt tooooo bad out here, so i donno.. I could fit a large group of MONSTERS all in one plot, as versus having multiple small plots..Get em out at 2-3 feet...then two months veg..They could finnish at about 5-7feet, and have 1-2 lbs a piece...With my current style, I get anywhere from 2 ounces to a half pound per plant..Settimg up the plots, hauling the soil, and digging a 2'x2' hole for each plant is backbreaking..Specially in this hard clay..If I Did it like tom, I wouldnt have to dig as much..Or set up half as much chickenwire, deernetting, landscaping matts, and drip lines,,,

This is my first year planting late season mini's...Put out 95 clones..two plots. Found a grassy stream side, should help keep the splatter down. All will immediately start blooming now...If this experiment works well, I will do my volume like that from then on, and concentrate on setting up a plot that can harbor plants the size of a VW bug..

You do a tremendous amount of work to your plots do you use any of those water retaining crystals in the holes? What is your experience with them?

i tried these and being a smartass i used too much and we had tonnes of rain and floods and now when i visit my plants u can see this jelly around it and coming out the ground :jump:  the weather is drying now, so hopefully it will dry out abit.
i wud say maybe to stick more closely to the amount needed, in case u do what i did :/
if you wanna know how its doing in dryer conditions then pm me in a week or so and i'll let u know :)

Yea, thats what I'm waiting for bro ,next season...Not to plant like you, just to watch!!! lol, You doing one hell of a job dude. I'm sure those plants you put out late WILL flower right away. Seems like a way to go, grow em out indoors or greenhouse, and then put them out late so they flower right away...Is that right?

Great to hear from you buddy. I can tell all the work is getting to you though. It’s hard to keep up with all the work and gets a little crazy I am sure.

My 20 or so plants get me crazy also. You start getting punch drunk form all the work and worry. You always have a ton of dreams, hopes and plans tied into each grow. Lets face it this is a serious hobby that can become all consuming.

Hang in there buddy you have good Karma ((work ethic + luck)* good spirit).

It looks like natural mulch is out of the question from what I have seen from your pics but it could help with the mud splatter.

I have in the past started in 2-liter bottles and let the plants get 10-12 weeks old before planting and used liquid ferts every two weeks. I have grown monsters before and it is the same amount of work for more bud but there is always a trade off. Mold, tying everything up, security, etc.

Late season minis...

Late season minis...

These should have till the end of October..they arent as high as all my other spots..Watering these is sooo fun...Just scoop a full bucket of water from the stream, mix up some soluble nutes,,And hit em till yer hearts content...

You can see the stream in this shot..

Swiss Miss

Sweet Purple...Had this plant in the area..Thought I would get a picture. she is a SP mother that I planted waaay off in the woods..She has only been gettin rainwater..It will be nice to have some finished, flushed, cured, outdoor erbs to puff wile harvesting, ya know...
.........................................................................

Heading back to the high maintenance plots today..Gonna be SURE to get in some fishing..Im using Fox Farms beastie blooms this week..Then, I will finish out the season with the Cha Ching....Stopping all feedings, and running a load of clear water, two weeks before my projected harvest date..

I was also thinking mulch of some kind might help with the mud splater.

That stream makes me think this could make a great place to grow a even bigger crop next year.

nice fresh water peeerfect! Great little mini plot, those should get to a decent nug size when done huh? I jsut put out a small blueberry about two days ago, hoping to at least pull a measly half O because it's not even in good sunlight. But still you gotta love watching them grow. PEACE great growing!

Was kinda thinkin the same thing....Its small, small enough so that there arent any fish, so thats nice. As fishermen are allover the place...An the valley bottom is soooo overgrown, that it would be quite hard to hike the stream bank..She runs steady ALL season...The only problem is that there is a road pretty close to the stream...

Might try to purchase a ton of fem beans, and do a coupple plots like this next year....Its my first try at late season minis,,,,so, well see:confused:
..........................................................................................................

The rain has been really settin in...I can already feel fall in the air. This is my favorite time..The anticipation kills me though,,,August 27....Thats the day, At least I think...After Aug 29, I will no longer have to worry about the choppers...Not like I really worry tooo bad any way, but still, they are sketchy..

Planning on moving out to the field~ Sept, 1, harvesting on Sept, 17.....Already gathering supplies for harvest..(not counting my chickens before they hatch, just making sure im prepared, ya know)...Picked up a powerful propane heater, and large canopy with a enclosure kit...The kind that you could park a large SUV under..With the enclosure kit I should remain pretty dry wile working..I will hopefully use the canopy as a trimm shack, with half set up as the work area, and half the drying racks and lines...

Trimming will be done mainly with my Trimm pro workstation, most everything will be dried on lines, any nuggs smaller than, say,,,, the size of the tip of yer thumb, will be dried on 4x8 racks, with deer netting stretched over em,,My hippy friends will constitute my trimm crew, So I will have a a three man team for the job, Which is ideal for this, One harvests the plants, and hikes them down to the trimm shack, another starts breaking it down into manageable pieces, for the next guy to run through the trimm machine, then on to the lines the freshly cut nugg goes.. If we get a good vibe goin, we could really burn through quite a fiew plants a day..Im prolly gona be the one on the trimm pro, Hopefully gonna have to be cleaning that thing constantly! A blessed curse!!!

I will open the walls of the drying/trimming shack during the mid day sun for circulation, other times it will only be open on two sides to keep it as dark as possible...Will prolly still be raining every afternoon, once the frost hits, I may have some snowy mornings..Will rely on the propane heater to help me battle the humidity and get things to dry out fully,,,Surprisingly, I, and other growers round here have had small problems with mold...Hopefully that wont be a issue though..
