hatch---
i hear you on the layering thing, it's been working amazing for me. multiple vectors of cannabinoid saturation for my poor poor deficient ECS
it sounds way more tasty than the oils i've been making for sublinguals. i'd love a candy OG syrup for example lol. does the decarbing process add a roasted or toasted flavor?
i was looking at harbor freight tumblers when i was considering making the glycerine. i think i saw it suggested on the skunk pharm page.
hivibes---
thank you for the kind words!
i do use two regular tropf blumat emitters per container, although i'd strongly recommend you use three, as two seems to be on the knife's edge of just enough to cover that area.
if you've come across my diagrams you've probably seen the pages from the blumat manual i've posted before, but basically the number of emitters is determined by the diameter of the container, not its volume.
the maxi's function is to allow longer wet/dry cycles by putting the sensor deeper into the soil. they're better suited to huge trees with hundreds of gallons of roots imo.
for the constant level remote reservoir you can design around the noise thing. in the diagram you saw i made a tiny one to fit in my closet, but using the same basic design i just made a huge one with a 5 gallon bucket for the top reservoir and a 45 gallon tote for the bottom. they're not attached like the little one in the diagram, i used flexible vinyl hose for the drain line, and it snakes through the book shelf and through the lid of the tote to dump into the bottom res.
if you install that drain hose so that the water runs out and hits the wall of the lower res rather than splashing directly into the water, it will be very silent.
i hope that makes sense! i am away from the garden currently so i can't take any pics to illustrate my point.
personal recipe for kelp tea--- throw a couple handfuls in the water and bubble for 12--24 hours (for 20 gallons).
i kinda eyeball most things, i'm pretty touchy feely and not big on measuring. if you were doing a 4 gallon brew i'd probably use i dunno maybe 1/4--1/2 a cup?
i hardly ever make teas tbh. they are amazing and effective. mostly i just don't like cleaning the brewer, and the air pump is loud enough that it bothers me at night.
i've been using a lot of malted barley, yucca extract, coconut water powder, aloe vera extract, and fulvic acid for my veg cycle waterings. they're all very convenient which i'm a big fan of.
i've got a lot of kelp in my home made EWC so i'm still regularly getting it into my containers that way.
