Hey brother heady.

Ya build that press??? I have to say I am pretty damn impressed!! Looks like it could have been store bought!!!:tiphat:

Yall keep talking. Im interested in this cloning action. No gel. HMMM never would have thought of using aloe.
Might have to give it a try.

You used up all my rep on this thread bro! Everything is looking stellar, I can't wait to see what you pull from the Elmers Glue x Fire Cookies, should be nothing but flame. Awesome thread man.

i used the aloe gel straight from a fresh filet with good success in perlite several times.

i also used it the first time i set up the ez cloner. i got roots in like a week! but then a couple days later everything was mega slimed and none of the cuts survived, so...

i got a tip from IG grower @kushsyndicate for the cloner, he uses 1/4 tsp/gal of 200x aloe extract and 20 ml/gal of fulvic acid in his ez cloner res, no ph, no temp, nada. he posted a pic of great roots, so i guess it works for him, but i haven't had a chance to try it myself yet.

the press is from harbor frieght guys!

$75---6 ton shop press from harbor freight
$20---4 x 1" steel bricks (2"x3") from the local machine shop
$20---solid single burner from walmart
$10---ove-glove two pack from bed bath and beyond
------------------
$125 total

HB,
I love my Aero cloner. One thing I do is break the heat cycle by dropping a frozen water bottle in it each day. At least when I remember. Haha

lol drek you have no idea the of the lengths we were going with that fucking aero cloner mid aug--mid sept.

we started with ice packs in res. eventually my buddy rigged up a little chiller system with an igloo cooler, another water pump, and some SS flexible hose. pump in the blumat res, pushing 300 gph through several coils buried in ice. such a fucking headache. so unecessary. i'm over it.

i might fire it up again now that temps have dropped, but i've got high hopes for the old school situation i've got going currently. maybe less is more?

thanks for the kind words folks!

i've been using a big .3 ohm 22g nichrome80 single coil in my doge rda for like 3 months but i finally decided i wanted more surface area for bigger dabs so i built the last one i posted.

turns out the kanthal tastes shitty now that i've gotten used to the nichrome, so that's a bummer. i went to get more nichrome and the guy at the vape shop just sold me on this new "anarchist" wire i'm gonna twist up tonight or tomorrow. i almost walked out with a box mod lol!

i think ideally i'd get the coil to the same temps i like my nail at, so in the 6--700*F range. i've been keeping my coils between .3 and .5 ohm so they get real hot real fast.

my ideal upgrade would be a big ass box mod like the segeli 150w with the variable temp control and everything.

i also wanna try this ejmix i've been hearing about. apparently it's formulated to keep canna concentrates in solution. i don't drip at all but the idea of a full cart for situations like concerts or family events does seem very attractive. i don't mind loading dab by dab in most situations, especially if i can fit a huge one, but it can be awkward at times.

just made this twist at the same time as that last spaced dual, only to discover kanthal tastes poo. gonna repeat it with the new wire cause it actually holds a ton more oil than a similar untwisted coil!

this was my first coil!

I haven't used much nichrome. I found it to be to fidgety for me in the beginning, and stuck with kanthal.

Let the impulse take over next time and get that box! :good:I use the 1st gen segeli 100w, and love it. I've got 5 mechs just gathering dust. I haven't had any problems with my piece. The temp setting would be really nice to play with. Nickel wire would be something new too. Can you use nichrome in those? I'm not sure. It would give you shit ton of freedom in making higher resistance, and a larger surface area. I went from using .3-.4ohm to 1-1.5ohm (mech to 100w) with the ~same ramp time. Regulated power from start to end is awesome too. Nothing sucks worse than a 1/2 dead bat on a mech.

I use a temperature regulated ecig mod. It is outstanding. Nickel wire sucks tho, titanium is where vaping heaven lies. The taste is amazing and the coils last at least 3x longer than kanthal.

Looks great in here!

sssdh lookin like a champ homie....that rosin is lookin tasty too.

when i was in CO. this last april shmoe was smoking a gang of rosin w us
and he told me the trick to the rosin is to hold it in for 7 seconds before exhale, then when u blow it out u feel that body rush right away....he was right lol.
just thought id share tht w you homie, didnt know if you knew.

i came up in prohibition so i hold all my hits in for at least 7 seconds :smoke: waste not want not!

i am so unimpressed with the giant dab videos where they ruin a 1/2 gram of good wax on a too hot nail, a large portion of it runs down the stem, and then they blow it out as soon as they take their mouth off the piece!

i've been working on my circular breathing for taking larger low temp dabs on the rig. get a lung full of vapor and blow it out my nose while i'm still chuffing on the rig.

i always felt like there is more thc to absorb in a hit of hash than of flowers, so i try to hold it in extra long.

lappy---

are you using that set up for dripping or for wax?

either way that's exactly what i'm moving towards. it's too bad this fancy competition wire i just put in my mech mod won't work with the temp control---shit tastes AMAZING. i haven't even pulled the rig out in a week!

also have some ejmix coming to do some experiments with so i can drip or fill up a cartomizer or something for further convenience and discretion.

What's happening heady? Not to change the subject but..... I have a question about those light traps/darkroom louvers from scrubninja, you put together a few of those right? Where would one procure the metal pieces necessary to construct them? Can you find or have them pre-cut somewhere? I really haven't done too much actual looking as of yet, just thought I'd start here by asking you. Thanks bro...

Peace and CBD grease.

.....and never mind, it took all of about 45 secs of searching but I, alas, found the pieces and that it wouldn't be hard to cut them myself. Now that that's taken care of...how efficient are they? And do you have any adjustments or mods to the design for improvement? This is all assuming that you've made them of course. Thanks again...

good ta see ya! hope your projects are moving forward smoothly!

the scrubninja diy light proof vents thread has a lot of good variations on the design that provide more light trapping or better airflow depending on what's needed for your situation. def browse through the thread if you haven't yet.

i actually used black foam core, a utility knife, and hot glue to build mine lol. it takes an insane amount of linear feet to fill a square foot, so material prices can add up quickly.

if price isn't a problem i think the cleanest build would be with aluminum or plastic angle stock, but you'd have to paint it all black before you even start cutting it up, and then assembly would require some serious drilling or welding.

it starts to make sense why those dark room louvers are so expensive! but those aren't even a good option for us since they restrict air flow way too much.

actually after the convos in your thread i would give serious consideration to an active intake on a speed controller. after the many hours of assembly and the cost of materials, the DIY vents look great and function well, but i could have used two more to allow freeer air flow (we've got negative pressure to spare), and i honestly dont have any more square feet where i could even install them. i did use allergen filters behind the vents tho, so that restricted airflow more than i had calculated for.
