I wonder where hydro-electric fits in all of that? Though there are down-sides there too.
There's also further investigation of larger-scale tide water turbines, some of which can be adapted to run both directions with the current, or river turbines, which we had earlier concepts of in smaller size almost 50 years ago.
Debris is a concern in either case, but also a source of employment via maintenance.
EVs in the North Country face challenges when there's relatively extreme cold. Heating passenger compartments, battery life, malfunctions with charging adapters, and, for now, availability of reliable charging stations.
