Lu lu lu lu lu lu lu lu, awhoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!1 Hee, hee, hee..........

Hats off to Mich for producing the Haskel rebuild video, which I have out for proof edit before releasing. I watched the rebuild, as well as most of the film yesterday and think it looks good.

Hats off to Dave Gordon for masterfully rebuilding a EXT-420 for us to film!

Watch this space! Coming soon to a U-Tube near you! The pump that takes a licking and just keeps on pumping.............

:woohoo: and much love to brother Milton Roy, the USA machine head doing the superb hands on presentation. (That's the name on the Haskel shirt... if I can read it anyone can, and he represents what I love about the USA, so I'm giving him name credit.)

GW :tiphat:

Actually Milton Roy is Haskel's parent company, not my name. If anyone is curious, watch the video and you will know what Dave at Haskel looks like.

My thanks to Gray Wolf and his crew, they did a great job with the filming and editing!

Of course now we have the proof that he's got talent and is not just another pretty face!

This recovery pump looks like exactly what I need after my long string of issues using all the other types of pumps.

Can it handle oil mist/vapors? What will be the price on parts for a rebuild?

Weighing costs.... If you are processing nonstop 12-14 hours a day how often will it need a rebuild?

Depends on how you treat then. I've seen them run way too fast and hammer out the cycling valve in a a couple months.

On the other hand, some of the originals have yet to be rebuilt, and well over a year, so I would treat them right and plan to reseal it biannually.

Perhaps Dave can share Haskel's projections?

Yes, the pump can handle some oil mist/vapor, however, if much gets inside the pump, it will build up in the gas section and require more frequent resealing/cleaning. You shouldn't be drawing much oil vapor into the pump, when I see pumps with oil residue in them, it usually means that the pump is being run too fast. What I believe happens if the pump is run too fast is that it creates too much negative pressure on the liquid butane/propane and accelerates the boiling, which causes turbulence in the vapor and the turbulence mixes the oil with the vapor and the oil gets drawn into the pump.

Remember, the pump can only remove the LPG vapor as fast as it boils off, running the pump any faster only wears out the pump. If the pump is cycling at 60 cycles per minute and the pressure in the extraction tank isn't climbing, you are drawing off the vapor as fast as it boils into vapor.

Now there are a lot of variables in how frequently a pump needs to be resealed, but, if you keep the cycling valve lubed (this takes about 5 minutes to do), and the pump is run at a speed of around 60 cycles per minute, I would expect that the pump would need to be resealed about every 6 months.

No oil less recovery pump to date has tolerated ingesting much resin laden butane liquid. It is their bete noir.

WolfWurx experimented with filter driers for their extraction units, on both sides of the pump, and now places a cyclonic filter drier in front of the pump as a fore trap, to minimize resin laden liquid butane making it into the pump.

It didn't measurably hinder recovery rates using either the Haskel, or the Pharmgold VaporHawg doing field trials, so is now standard equipment on the WW Terpenators and the Pharmgold pumps.

I heartily recommend building one or getting one to protect your pump.

THISSSS!!!! I've been waiting for this. How exciting!

Yeah, what other pump manufacturer has a video out on how to service and rebuild them to factory spec?

A bonus that Dave is both knowledgeable and photogenic, and a tribute to Mich for catching the details and editing them to blend the wide views and the close up details well.

A archetype standard for the other pump manufacturers to meet, and one that I challenge the other manufacturers who seriously want the cannabis business, to do so as well.

No but kudos and accolades to your buddy and to Haskel!

Would that be our Amsterdam cup winning buddy, or do we have even more talent in that part of the land of CA?

I just read this thread cover to cover and it feels like I binge watched a season of Mythbusters. What kind of cyclonic filter do you recommend Grey Wolf?
