H3ad goes Coco

Has anyone ever used FloraNova Bloom until week 5 and then switched to just Flora Bloom until the end?
What would be the downside to this if there is one?

Do you think the results would be compareable to 6/9 M/B

I actually did just that a while back. I tried Floranova Bloom, it worked OK through veg, but mid flower the plants were too green and no way to adjust, so I went back to Flora Bloom at week 5 and the plants lightened up nicely.

I recently started some plants on Floranova, but they weren't happy, and once back on 0-6-9 they were instantly happy, so I'm sticking with 0-6-9.

If you are recirculating your nutes that will work very well (be aware though that the FNB will stain your res and tables and make cleanup considerably more difficult with no noticeable improvement in yield or taste vs FM/FB...my preference in coco for recirc is somewhere around 8/12 though vs Lucas ratios with maybe replacing some of the micro with calmag depending on strain/water).

If you are drain to waste the FNB will be too hot and your results will actually be lower yield...taste will depend on how well you flush.

At least that has been my experience. For me getting the plants everything they need but not one bit more is the key (thanks to H3ad for teaching me that) to the best results. That has to be dialed for your particular growing method but this formula is a great starting point.

i found the opposite, that plants were much happier on floranova bloom, but i think late in flower they are less happy, too much n.

Seemed to help me, but a good practice may be to prevent salt buildup by using dripclean

I have to say Drip Clean didn't do SHIT for me!!! I used it from the time I switched over to H&G in veg and all the way up to week 5 in flower but I had some type of problem with Magic Merlin and Gorilla Grape so I flushed and found my run off was 1800ppm!!!!! lemme say that again 1800ppm!!!! I was also watering 2x a day with plenty of run off however I did slow up and go to 1x a day with run off and the nutes built up anyway even with Drip Clean!!! I'm not using it anymore...

Head. Just wanna let u know the 6/9 with Ro water for me and 5mills per gallon (US) leaves me with a ph of 5.6/5.8 and I have a C99 outside in a coco hempy bucket and its looks like its doing well.....The cut I have is done flowering in 51 days so thats only about 5 weeks of feeding with a 14 day flush ...So when would I drop the micro? And I have looks over this thread a few times and cant find out what happens when I cut the micro what happens to my ph?Do I cut the micro and add liquid kool bloom to have the same ph of 5.6/5.8?????So I guess what I want to know if u have a set recipe for when droping the micro thanx. And one more thing I know there is a big debate about the 6/9 working for og's have u ever grown out an og with the 6/9????

thanks rushoe, some bog's blue moon rocks, GDP, and some arcata trainwreck under 1000 watts hps, fed with Head's 6/9 formula. great formula, I cant wait to test out the final product.

Day 44 using H3eds recipe. Usually these go 60-plus days, but they are cranking along so nicely and so dense, that I'm finding a small amount of mold in a couple colas, so I'm on Mold Patrol, and I'll probably chop around 56 days/8 weeks.

Thanks Mr. Grateful. I have offically switched to Coco after years of trying other mediums. I have put the 5 gal buckets away, and finishing up plants in 3 gal buckets. Savings is savings...every little bit helps.
My past experience with dense mediums has led me to belive that roots get mushed, can't grow so well without perlilite, rocks, or something to make medium not so dense. I have run the gambit of soils, from Pro-mix to Miracle-gro, Fox Farm and on and on.From the cheapest to the 25$ a 2kg bag....way overpriced and plants were not impressed. Coco sure appears to be super dense, but after using for some time have changed mind.....is so light does not cause problems with root growth.
I am sold on Coco, thanks Heads, as your intructional posts are outstanding!
Keep up great work with genetics, as every garden needs some Casey!
