H3ad goes Coco

The girls are doing excellent. I'm watering in the morning and at night 1oz each. Tonight when I watered I noticed what appears to be green algae on the top of the coco - is this something I need to worry about? I read in the past that this is typically caused by keeping the medium too moist but I couldn't find much on coco itself.

Just block the light to kill it. Make some lil covers with some Black/white poly

anyone use hygrozyme with coco & gh? head?

i'm pretty sure that H3ad JUST uses that basics. i think he talks about this in one of the first postings and i'm sure i will be corrected very quickly if i'm off base, but... anyhow, hygrozyme is an enzyme additive used to catalyze reactions at the cellular level. this is very different from a nutrient, which will display deficiencies and toxicities, and sometimes don't play well with nutrients from other brands. you should be fine using any of the enzyme products on the market with any of the nutrients in any substrate. this is not an endorsement of doing so, but you should be ok in coco, using gh (or any other base) and any enzyme..imo. not really the topic here, but i can certainly understand tapping H3ad for any info that he is willing to share.

Hey Head
Got some Casey Jones going in coco, its growing awesome and your the man. Got it from HHC and just flowered the first clone from the mother and its the real deal. Frosty, 200% flowering jump, falls over with nuggets like the wreck ect

Does anyone know out there what cuts HHC and bluesky have?

I noticed this pheno that I have leans toward the ECSD side of the parental genetics.

Also noticed that it can be sensitive to intense light, leaves flip over to shade themselves...

Have you seen this leaf flipping as well?
How often do you irrigate and when do you change your watering cycles?

I have heard it takes a heavier dose of nutes well... is that true?

thx man!
hope everybody had an awesome 420

Been following the recipe for awhile now, it is the best! Here is my question:
I am doing the slam with Kool Bloom liquid at 13 ml/gal. I forget who but someone had listed the conversion for powder to liquid as 12.5-14ml/gal for the liquid.
I had a couple plants show balls here and there a day or two after the slam and I really got the impression it was due to the slam. The 2nd slam is coming up tomorrow and would really appreciate feedback.
I also amend the recipe with 4ml/gal of Atami B'cuzz bloom stim and 3ml/gal of Botanicare's silicon stuff (forget what the brand name is, same as Dynagrow's Pro-Tekt). I use B'cuzz Bounce coco and 2 gal smart pots.

All previous grows I have used H3ad's suggestion to slam with GH bloom, this is my first try to slam with Kool Bloom liquid.

Really appreciate your advice

H3ad what do u recomned for soil, pretty much the same feeding schedule. my freind rooms is all green at week 6 of flower of a 9 week strain, should he from here out just run bloom at 9ml per gallon untill the flush or will this affect yeild.

i dropped my micro and my leaves have all turned yellow real quick, within a week they are all yellow and close to falling off.. I still have 2 weeks left, more on some, think I should be ok?

anyone use humic/fulvic products/molasses/silica/hygrozyme with the rez formula? these are the only additives i feel may have a positive impact? i'm surprised that head and rez don't use at least humic/fulvic products don't they help?

wr... not being on the west coast I am not sure what phenotypes the local dispensaries carry. Sorry I can't be of more help there.

duddits... stresses can cause male flowers, but that's not much stress... are these plants which you've grown before without the monoecious manifestation?

vin... In promix I stick with 8/16 and schedule the feeding about the same. In actual soil I'd build a nice organic soil, but imho soil is for outside in the sunshine growing.

robert, i think your flowers are on track to smoke very nicely and taste of nothing but cannabis. If the flavor and cleanness of the smoke is not worth loosing a tiny percentage of yield, then go a week longer with the micro next round.

oahno... crazycomposer may have used some of those products in coco, he does a lot of experimenting.

whats up head...

just wanted to pick ur brain on Canna-Coco...

have u ever used their nutes (canna-coco a/b)??? if so..any benefits in using them as opposed to your mix???

the reason i ask is that the people at the hydroshop are pushing it like crazy on anyone who buys the coco...i know this is their job but some of them even claim that no other nutrient will give u the result that the canna coco + canna a/b will.

your thoughts on this??

i'd say they aren't far off. i've never used canna as i'm stateside but i've heard nothing but amazing things. i read homegrown prefers them above all else and he has grown some weed i hear.

I have only used Canna coco - it works well for me. I like that I do not have to rinse it - it comes ready to go.

thanx slim..

i uses canna coco as well..i was asking about the nutes though...currently im using 6/9 gh...but im thinkin of tryin canna's line of nutes.

been wondering about molasses too, but i guess it would clog up the drip irrigation?

ya man, good question. i recently switched to drip and have seen explosive results in growth using head's formula. i'm coming up on 3 weeks soon and wanted to mix in a little molasses too. i've never used it before, but didn't think it would cause any issues especially since it's diluted.

did some searching and found this thread:
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=121887

not really a solid answer, seems that some people experienced clogged emitters and others reported a slime develop in the rez. seems that the best advice is maybe to hand water the molasses in or as GET MO recommended, add to the ass end of full rez then follow up with a fresh mix of nutes to flush the rez/emitters out. guess that could work.

found another thread:
http://www.treatingyourself.com/vbulletin/archive/index.php?t-14621.html

where salmayo said "I have added uncomposted Molasses mixes in my hydro, but the biological blooms clog up the emitters, so I don't do that anymore.". Still trying to learn more about organics, so not sure if that applies or not.

take it slow,

why use emitters anyway all they do is clog? why not just use open tubes then you don't have these issues. my question is molasses even good to use with this recipe?

try a canna & gh head formula side by side i'd love to see that personally. if i was in europe i would just consider myself lucky to have access to canna nutes in the first place and use those. i would like to see that comparison though.

i'd think it's beneficial to use emitters so slow water absorption by the media allowing it to soak a little more as opposed to running open tubes where things move more quickly. also, some people do not have timers that run short cycles, using the emitter allows me to run my pump longer while providing just the right amounts of nutes to the plants. i'm not saying they won't clog, just that they work for me. i also setup my emitters on a T with a halo so there are two emitters in case one does happen to clog and i get more even watering around the base of the plant.

not really sure if molasses will work or not with this formula, but i'll never know if i don't try at some point. i still have unanswered questions before i actually pull the trigger on it. i may just throw down with some koolbloom Rez style and call it a day. just thought it was a cool coincidence that someone else was thinking the same thing and that others here might have some insight.

anyone here seen some good success appending the formula with molasses? bonus points for using molasses and drip emitters! hehe

thanks & peace brotha,

I use molasses and it always makes the resevoir cloudy and forms bubbles after a day or so.

I would think it would be just fine to use molasses in drip systems if you ran a small amount of PH'd water afterwards to flush the molasses out.

I use Silica Blast at 4-5ml gallon. Last few runs my RH was always 50-70 lights on and upwards to 80 lights off cause it was raining a lot. No PM. Ran till 2 weeks from the cut.

Liquid Karma works great in Veg especially after transplanting to bigger containers and pruneing. In flower did not notice any difference in my side by sides.
