id change that black plastic to panda plastic. so u get some reflection, black shit absorbs light im pretty sure. but does anyone know where you can get the 2007 hydrohuts for cheap? only place i can find is on amazon.com and its so damn expensive. i want a 2007 original hydro hut cuz its a little bigger 4.5 x 4.5 x 7 and its like 3 bills on damn amazon. yall know where to get one of these for cheaper somewhere? cant find any sites with the 2007 hydrohuts.

Also, especially with the top front zippers on my mini, be sure to flip the zipper handle to the back to lock it in place when opening up wide. If It is left flipped forward the zipper is free to travel to the back where there is no stop for the zipper.

Here is a pic of my XL home Box and whats inside. Im using the 8 bulb T5 setup for light.
Here is the T5 light, I did have a 1000watt HPS light in there in the begining but it got too damn hot. This was when my plants were seedlings.

anyone ever get down on HighTechGrow Supplies' grow tent? the hydrohut mini equivalent they have is only $150 it comes with the flanges. i've talked to one person about it and they cannot verify how lightproof it is. it's got a metal support like the 'huts and looks like to me, more ventilation offered.
Yeah I wanted to keep the 1000watt in there but it was getting close to 100deg in the homebox. I had no real way of cooling it except exhausting the hot air into the room the homebox was in then it was just getting recirculated back in the homebox. If there was a way for me to vent the hot air outside the room then i would have kept the 1000 watter but my situation I couldnt do that.ft100 said:

One of these tents is definitely the right way to go for me. I'm not so keen on a permanent cabinet and have too busy a lifestyle to futz around with DIY. Besides, I built my attic rig myself last year and get those cool points regardless.
Good news is that I have great ventilation options. My spare bedroom has lots of windows and plenty of space. The windows are high off the ground and I live alone. So, I don't need to worry about the stink quite as much as some. The room has a window air conditioner as well as a steam radiator.
So... I've got 3x 400W (2x HPS + 1x MH) with remote conventional ballasts in my lighting collection. I'd like to use at least two of them in one space. What size tent/s is/are worth looking into? I can easily do the watts/square foot math, but I'm concerned about getting the heat out and being efficient in general.
Can anybody propose different wattages, reflectors types, and ventilation schemes for the various size tents?

I would just like to add that i bought a homebox 3'x3' (i think its version 3.0).
Im hanging my Arctic Sun 6 reflector, a digi ballast, two powerstrips, and an airpump, all to the structure. I also have a stanley blower sitting on the top.
Anyone familar with the Arctic Sun 6, knows thats a big reflector. the top of the homebox, is probably holding atleast 25-30lbs, with no problems.
Wormsway has the small 2'x2'x4' homebox for something like $125. ive got two 250w's sitting idle, if i had room, id snatch a couple up.

Set my hydro hut up this week. Thought the fan bracket was kinda useless for my 6' vortex, and didn't like how it was situated @ the opposite side of the exhaust port. (was so happy they have 6" ports now!) Attached fan w/ bungi cords hanging directly under exhaust port.
Anyway, a lot of you swear by hanging mylar, so I did three sides, leaving the door side bare. Just seems like a PITA to cover the door too, but this is the side w/ the most probable light leaks. Was thinking of using a 1/2 inch insulation panel cut to 4' X 4' w/ mylar attached - easy to remove while entering.
Like to hear others' thoughts on this. Thank!

So lately ive been interested in Putting together a hydro hut 4x4 setup, so i went to my local hydro shop to get an idea of pricing on the items needed. When i went in to ask how much for a hydro hut original, they said they dont sell them anymore because they are toxic... anybody else hear of this? Any more information? Its kind of wierd because they still have one set up in the store that they are using as display. Was the guy just f'n with me or has anyone else heard this lately? Ive also seen A BUNCH of them for sale on craigslist so maybe the word has spread and people are trying to get rid of them?
Any more information is greatly appreciated as i might have to just build my own with panda film.
