the plastic corners on the homebox are actually fairly strong and you have to remember that the hydrohuts corners are welded on so if someone screws that up your fucked.

Thanks for the all the info. guys. Just further making me antsy to buy one of them babies. Apart from $, the only thing that's stopping me is that these tents stick out more than a big cabinet would.

I was thinking the best excuse you could give someone who happens to notice the tent is to offset their curiosity and say "it holds some old cloths and helps keep the moths out". Anyone else think of something better?
It wouldn't look out of place in a basement for that reason.

God this Guinness is tasting good....finished final exams! Gonna do about three runs of bubblehash tonight :)

when people ask me about my hut i tell them its a darkroom for photos and i cant open it up cuz the pictures will be ruined. some photo companies make darkroom tents simular to the hydro hut

I got 8 ft ceilings in my house, so I'm probably going to put some folded blankets on top, just to kinda make it look like an extra closet for clothes? Maybe some stuffed animals or something.

Whatever your excuses, my opinion is that if you have people passing by then the best way is a stealth cabinet grow like a C24.

Check this out yall,

I e-mailed this to the Hydro Hut peopl and this is what I got:

Just purchased one of your Hydro Hut Originals, and I am VERY pleased with
the quality.

However, I have one problem that I hope you can help me with.

I would like to put a 6' adaptor thru both holes. What would you recommend I
do to the extra 1-2 inches of material? Cut it, re-sew it, glue the cut
material to help with untwining?

I have a 6' fan, and if all else fails, will have to use a reducer. I'm not
sure what is the safer (smarter) route to go.

If there's any advice you can give, I'd love to hear it!

Thanks for a great product,

If the Hut is up already, you can use a 6" metal flange of your choosing (aluminum is best), heat it up like crazy unitll it is burning hot by putting it over a flame. Holding a solid piece of wood on the canvas side, you can push the very hot flange against the white plastic side. It will burn a nice round hole in the plastic. It may or may not burn through the canvas but it will give you a seal on the plastic side. This method might take two people.

Or, you can cut the hole out with a scissor and then use a lighter to burn the fraid edges of the canvas and fuse the canvas and plastic back together. Of course, you can simply cut out the hole and not fuse anything if you desire.

Similarly, you can punch holes using a hot nail or something similar. Just mark everything first so your holes are perfect.

If you use glue, use contact cement (or Barge cement) whereby you would put glue on both pieces and let it dry before putting them together.

I hope this helps.

i'd say the hut looks more like a wardrobe closet than anything else.

"I'll have no choice but to mount the fan and the filter outside the Hut. There's no way the Hut will be able to support those two."

you've obviously haven't tried it then. i'd say it will hold. the bars at th top need to be re-adjusted so that they criss-cross, like a weave, makes it a bit more sturdy. they won't align properly then in their "grooves" that they have, but who cares, we care about support. i've got some weight being held by the hut, with no problems at all.

i'm setting up for my next grow. i seen a post on the size and E/F trays involved. i too switched to a 3x3 e/f tray from botanicare, only to find the thing does NOT fit. had to cut off 2" of tray lip on all sides to get the thing to fit......with that being said, make sure you check your measurement before ordering trays for these things.

i run a modified stanly fan in mine, when it's on high, the walls suck in on this thing.......... :kos:

it's duely noted also, that i need a de-humidifier for all types of reason, i think the plastic does make it a little stuffy.....

Agreed, a closet/cupboard is just more common than a basement extra storage tent for clothes.
Kinda funny....you don't want your closet to look so nice on the outside that it attracts attention, but also not butt ugly that people marvel in its filth. Somewhere right in the middle.

I've got a spare bedroom which contains all my grow (except nutrients of course), so I just keep the door closed when I have company over. I hope I always have a spare bedroom :)

There is no way the hut will hold my carbon filter and fan. I just checked the box on the filter, and it says; Carbon weight-40lb's. I'm not even sure if that includes the housing.
The 6' eco plus inline fan I have is at least 5lbs.

I guess if you run a 2x4 along the top connecting both sides , maybe, but not hanging from the Hut itself...

Also, do you have a mini? or the original?

I use a tent myself. The home box. I've heard of the green rooms but they kinda look a bit dodgy to me.

Are you happy with your home box, from what i gather from here there is'nt much difference between the Hydrohut and Homebox ???

one difference is that the homebox has bigger flaps for the intakes meaning they can be tucked in under the 2nd floor making them much more light proof, also James666 how old is your box? I ask because the print of the flower has a dot in the middle of it but mine dose not.

Hi guy's
My homebox is only a few months old. I haven't really had a full grow in it yet.
The flaps on the side of the box are fine. They are a bit but helps keep the temps down if needs be. Good for air intake too.
I can't really compare it to the hydro hut as I've never seen one in person. But before I bought the home box I did allot of research on different tents and types. The hydro hut is supposedly poor quality material (this is just what I read. No offence to anyone who has one) and the zips are suppose to break easily.
For me it was always a toss up between the bud box and home box. In the end I opted for the home box for a few reasons.
1. Its good quality material.
2. It was the original tent.
3. In weed world (magazine I get) it said these were the best quality tent for your cash.
4. I e-mailed the suppliers of all the tents I could find and talked about weight and quality ect.... home box was by far the most helpful and the best customer service.
5. I was panicking about the weight it could hold. I've had a 6 kg light and on top of that the weight of fans and filter. I was told by a number of suppliers this tent would easily hold the weight.

Hope this helps guys.
