i currently have 18 plants most in 2 gal bags the strains are aurora indica, white widow, and sagarmatha most from seed i am using the hydrohut mini, i currently have one 400w hps i plan on adding another. does anyone have experiece runnig dual 400s in a mini how And how much would my yeild increase if i added another 400?

well space wise you should be able to get them to fit. did you see a few threads back the user that made new side intakes and ran that straight through the sides? that to me would seem to be the best way.

make 2 cool tubes, cut the holes and tape in or maybe rivet/tape in some caps on the sides, would be very easy. no heat, would need a small fan for that.

but hey i dont even have one yet lol :)

What would you guys suggest in the regular 4x4 hut. A 3x3 table(ebb&flow), or a 4x4? I've seen some pics off one of the hydro companys site that has a 4x4 system in there. Not sure how that's possible with the tent being right at 4x4???

I'll hopefully be running a 1k watter in there if I can control the temps, if not I have my 400

:chin: Also, how many plants do you think would be perfect in that much space? I say around 5?(probably growing Power Plant from Dutch Passion) :yummy: Just so I can get the most from each without smothering the space.

I've never grown in a tent before, so I'm looking for some solid opinions...

Thanks,
Rush

Rush, I have one of these and I ordered two 2x4 trays for it.. the trays were actually 44" by 25.5" and two did not fit :(

I went to my local hydro store armed with a tape measure and I couldnt find any 4x4 trays that fit.. sadly I had to use just one of the 2x4 trays in the tent but the results are not sad at all.. these 13 babies are on day 40 of 12/12 under a digital 600w HPS hortilux light and are about 15 days from harvest in a ghetto ass ebb and flow system.. this is the homebox not the HH too BTW and needless to say I am more than impressed. my ballast and another centrifugal fan and some power cords are all sitting on top of this rig as well.

I built my own room with the trashbag method and then a second room with the homebox.. the UPS guy just dropped off another homebox that I will be replacing my first DIY room with.. which BTW I ended up spending way over $200 on. DIYers.. listen to me.. dont waste your time.. just buy one of these from the get go.. you will NEVER regret it! that i can promise.

damn bro!! pica are looking tight! You said you have the ballast, fan, and some wires on top? That's pretty strong!

Yeah, I can do the DIY thang, but I'm the type of person who would just rather buy something all tricked out to save me any headaches I WILL incounter.

Nice job

FYI- I think most of you are aware, but the 3x3 HH and 4x4 are a little over 3' and 4', 39" and 52", respectively.

The whole purpose on the homebox FOR ME, is that is is QUIET.

This unit is at the foot of my bed, with a digital ballast, 400w MH and absolutely no fans at all, it is stealthy, dark, and I can sleep at night with it totally sealed up... no heat buildup with a 400w.

A 1000w is useable in one of these, but will need to be a Cool Tube with air cooling, as well as possible exhaust from the top of the tent. We are talking about 2 fans to make it work, but it will work. If noise is not your enemy, then it's very doable in the 4x4. 3x3 will be harder, but also achievable.

For me, this is out of the question.
my 400w digital, zero fans is absolutely silent.
It is for my moher plants, but could be used to bloom also.

Neptune... just for clarification and not to argue... but wouldn't any tent/hut WITHOUT a fan be QUIET? Your looks like a HydroHut and not a Homebox. Excuse me if I'm mis-reading you...

I planned on using my mini for moms but when I put it together and saw the size staggering over my old C13, the C13 quickly became the new mom room...

neptune- How quiet is that digital? Do you have a surge protector on it? Can you use MH & HPS?

also, how can you not have any heat build up in there? If you have no fans, how do you keep it cool?

I grew in a closet with a 400, and the temps were my biggest obstacle. I also had a shitty squirel cage fan extinquishing the heat from the hood.

I'm getting a Hydro Hut, so I want to know as much as I can.

Digitals are 100% quiet. A slight hum but you need to put your ear on it to hear it. I have a 400w lumatek as well as an old tap and coil 400w ballast, which uhh, seems to be just as quiet. The digital runs MH and HPS no problems.

I guess I take it old ballasts are supposed to be loud? Mine are both quiet but anyway... the old style is the backup now.

Limbong:

If the ambient temps in the room the tent is in are low, the tent won't be too much higher with a 400w. The tents are "breathable" too, not forming a 100% air tight seal so that helps. A room has more airflow and space for the heat to dissipate than a stuffy closet. Also just vegging can get away with no fan... flowering would be a different story. HPS seems to run warmer than MH in my tent, another reason heat may be staying down.

Hi Cobo - sorry, didn't take time to read the whole thread, but those tents could be made by;
4 meters of 2 meter wide black/white plastic
4 1"x2" x7' batten (if i looked up a wrong word a batten=some wood)
8 ---- x3' battens
nail it all together and put plastick around. I bet you it'll be stronger, and you can hang stuff in it easily by adding some more battens (really hope battens mean what i think);))
In my local hardware store this would be about 30$ - didn't even see the price of the tent, but it surely looked like a bit more$

Hopefully shouldn't be necessary too often, but it would be maybe 16-20 screws. Velcro on the White plastic. Definately could easily be done, maybe even faster than that cabinet if you have a machine. Well im not trying to persuade u. I like a bit of luxurity like that too, just a tip for the guys that would like one cheaper. I think those cabinets are pretty cool too.

Just to let everyone know, I ordered a Hydro Hut Original from Texas Hydro. and everything went cool. Shipped it stealth and everything.

The Hut is HUGE! 3x3 is pretty big.

Hydro Hut says you can put it together in 20 minutes.....NOT the first time, maybe if you have to take it down and put it back up it would be quicker, but it's a bitch to get the tent over the frame. You'll need a little step ladder or something too.

The Hut is built very good IMO....There are two bottoms for the floor that are water proof....A+++ :woohoo:

Am I crazy or does hydrohut.com not work?

I visit some webpage that looks like somebody bought the web address in hopes of a company coming along and paying good $ for the rights.

I'm in the market for a grow tent, but since my fan is a 6"-er, I'm hoping that the new models come equipped with that option (or standard).
