GROW TENTS !!!!!!!!!

I have a hydrohut mini. it's made out of good material I guess but it's not light proof or sealed at all. My temp's are also pretty high with a 400w barely keeping them slightly under 30C with a room temp of 23C
Although my hood is junk and ventilation isn't setup properly my duct hose is about 10-15 ft. too long as and my vortex 4" is set on the outside of the hut so I imagine it's taking a lot of effeciency away.
what does everyone use to cut the duct hoses? I was just going to get a 8 footer but obviously that would be cheaper.

i have the 3x3 mini, and am lovin' it.

here is a pic of what's hangin around right now. this is nowhere the max that it could hold either. i just don't have anything to else to hang in there. very sturdy. my cat(12#) used to jump up on top of it too, just to piss me off, there was some shaking, kinda like a big tent, but nothing like falling over or collapsing...........

What's not light-proof about it? The intake vents?

You just solved the problem. Better ventilation, through better configuration.

Pair of wire snips, tin cutters, whatever cuts that wire. Scissors didn't work so well for me, ended up f*cking up a pair that way.

Do the intake vents on the HomeBox have a black mesh over it on the outside, like the HydroHut? Or just the flap? Could someone please take a picture of the intake vents, please? :D

it has black mesh and they are about 3" longer so you are able to tuck them in between the 2nd floor to make them 99% light proof, with the hydrohut they are much shorter and are not able to be tucked under the 2nd flood making them a very big problem.

What's with the stuffing on the Daystar?

Edit: Wait, don't tell me you broke the glass and you're using the stuffing to suck in the radiant heat from the reflector...?

What's that on top of your reflector?

The backdraft damper... is that the powered normally-open/closed thing that opens/closes the disc in the middle?

"The Cape Back draft Damper is the ultimate one way air flow valve, designed to overcome the inefficiencies and limitations of traditional gravity or butterfly dampers.

The Cape Damper consists of a specially formulated fabric sleeve attached to an outer metal sleeve. The fabric sleeve will allow air to pass through in the desired direction of flow with minuscule reduction in airflow. For reverse airflow, airflow that should be stopped by a back draft damper, the Cape Damper gives a better seal at a lower pressure and holds that seal as the pressure increases. The Cape Damper is quiet, with no metal clanging sounds, and can be installed in a horizontal or vertical orientation. It is available in two sizes, 4" and 6"."

can you post some more pics of you're set up? At the hydro store they had 2 other set ups with a simulated grow room, but the mini wasnt up. How many plants can you fit in it, some pics would be much appreciated.

edit - didn't even see somebody posted it for me. i don't have that many pics yet for my new setup, just building it as i type. need to pick up some more pots to fill the tray, other than that, just waiting on some clones. going to push this thing to the max, or try to:)

i guess with me running the tray and table in there, the light leaks at the bottom have NEVER been an issue, and i even run my dark cycle during the day when it's super bright in the room. never a hermie. and i've smoke it all. just run a furnace filter over them on the outsides of vent holes on hydrohuts.....

Is the the original or the Mini?

Edit: I would have guessed Mini (sqrt(49) * 5.5 == 38.5), but it looks like you have a bit of space on the sides there... but then again not quite enough to be 52" x 52". Unless your calculations for 49 was simply from 39 / 5.5. I'm confused!! :yoinks:

What is the maximum carbon filter weight supported on the ceiling of the Homebox XL?
Eastside Impex to clowntown said:
21 Kg or 42 lbs are no problem.
The Can-Filter 66 total weight is 44lbs, according to their website. With the 6" Vortex and reflector, total weight on the ceiling would be approx. 60 lbs. Hope the plastic corners don't break from too much weight.
