Thanks for the info McKush I can grow some tall plants outside so indoor will be indica or hybrids for now...I am realizing its a lot of preparation to be a successful grower

no prob H. I tend to forget about the liberties that people living in other states can enjoy... not the case here.

what would be the easiest way to do this to a unfinished attic.. cheapest way... lol.. i was thinking about doing a attic grow.. and basement grow.. i wanted to run my seed production rooms in the attic.. so its not near the basement sensi crop.

Attics are really tough man, on a nice 75 degree day, most attics I have ever been in are getting close to 100. If your willing to condition the space (frame insulated walls ceiling and floor, as well as some form of ac) it should work out well.

I think "dan's buds" rocks an attic, maybe check some of his posts, whatever he is doing, it looks like he is doing it right.

Thanks for the info I will check out his post. Does anyone have any thoughts on running multiple bare bulbs in 2 ft x 3 ft bays?

Are you thinking of having actual physical barriers between the bulbs and then plants surrounding each bulb in its own cubicle?

I would avoid it, micro climates happen bad enough without blocking airflow.

Check out some of the bare bulb vert threads. Those guys have that shit down to a science, no experience myself. I believe most of the time though they are lighting a plant from multiple angles. They have all kinds of tricks to get the most out of it. Definitely worth doing a bit of research.

No the bay's are basically from the truss. There would be no physical barrier just the truss so that's why I was thinking of running barebulb more coverage. Does that make sense? Also not having to pay for hoods is pretty enticing also

If your looking at the attic, then ya bare bulb vert might be just the thing. It helps with lower ceiling height. Defintely gonna have to get some serious cooling going on though. Bare bulb needs I believe 3000 btu's per 1k maybe 4, but in an attic I would absolutely oversize the ac. So if your gonna run 4 or 5 1k's go with a 36000 btu ac. You could probably run 6 or 7 in the winter but I would suspect 4 would pretty much keep it working late spring through early fall.

I don't think I will be running 1k. I was thinking 600s on a digital ballast. I thought the 1k would burn the plant. I also plan on a ventilating the space extremely well. I am starting some research on lung rooms so I don't run the cold ac right into the flower or veg rooms. But I am still very new so any advice is greatly appreciated. I am going to insulate as best I can without losing the height. It's 8 ft in the middle at the truss peak. I think the side walls ceiling and floor I can get a little over r40
