Greenhouse Seeds releasing "old school skunk"

Great post and way to dig up the info!
2 things that stood out to me:

1 was the almost hairless(pistiless)buds that looked to be balls of leaf...

Another reason for the appearance was not only the incredibly large size of the bracts(calyxes) but also the fine, thin hair-like pistils...They were also usually rusty or darker in color and did not stand out like an orange pistil or a fire red pistil....
The layed right down with the bract leaves and were hard to see.....I also thought his was mostly a trait of some indicas..

The 2nd comment of intrest was the fluffy to solid bud formations....

Hands down I have had by far the most potent smoke from buds that were NOT very dense....The really really solid buds have no place to farm trichomes...Only the surface gets really coated...I realize that some buds are potent with less than average resin production but generally it's the opposite...
The funny thing is that the majority of younger growers/smokers/consumers want big thick solid buds, they laugh when they see something like Neville's in a jar and say check this shit out and then procede to pull out a 1/2 oz. of that fuckin' warehouse shit from North of the Border......BCBud or whatever you call it..
Even some older smokers are like this....It's easy to weed them out though :moon:

Now before you guys from Canada start bitching I know you guys have the kill up there....You just seldom send anything worth a shit down here....It's going to take us a decade to re-educate these hardheads about sativas and sativa dominant hybrids.........

Nice post
but...
"I have heard that Sensi's SuperSkunk is very fluffy"

I´d say that some plants are somewhat "fluffy",but I have some SSK and it is quite compact :yummy:

Sensi Seeds 'Super Skunk' pre2000 was a nice compact, smelly plant... grew 100's of them from seed b4 now
For some reason the essence was lost when they re-bred/worked the line post2000,,, have yet seen the same quality displayed since.

if you can find pre2000 sensi stock their is a good chance of finding the plant!

good luck

peace

the skunk lines the Dutch rec are def not related to the road kill or ORIGINAL skunks.

they just capitalized on the hype of the skunk name!

the real skunk was almost if not pure indica!
could smell the roadkill from seedling stage... extreme stank even in veg!

haven't seen the real deal since the mid 90's!

gotta be out there but in my opinion not in the hands of the dutch seed pushers.

They basically have raped the old school strains bred them all over the place and created a culture of people smoking mediocre tasteless ho hum potency strains.

people are far better off growing closet hack seed!

LMAO!
Greenhouses' 'RKS' will be a bigger JOKE than 'Arjan's Ultra Haze'....

ROF!! :D :D

I will personally GUARANTEE that Gonzo #2 (Skunk#1/Basic5 x Kush)
will KICK GH's RKS to the DOOR.

Fuck GH,they're CLUELESS.

I honestly believe finding the real RKS is going to be harder than people think. I have been growing for years and for the same amount of time have been searching for a cut of the RKS. I had a line on it in the mid 90's, but the guy that had it was a biker and wanted $500.00 a clone! I couldn't afford it at the time, plus I didn't think any clone was worth that price. It was around quite a lot just before I started growing in the early 90's, then it got rarer and rarer as time went on. The biker got busted a year or two later and I never saw the RKS again. I figure if I can't find a cut after all these years searching, and of all the growers on the web can't either, it's going to be next to impossible.

I also remember when I first started surfing these sites. Everyone always stated the skunk was mostly sativa. It really confused me as I always experienced skunk to be more on the indica side. This sweet skunk in my opinion should be labeled just that 'Sweet Skunk'. You can tell the difference between the animal smell and the sweet skunk. Real RKS is exactly like the animal smell, pungent and much stronger.

I hope someone can find this strain as I have wanted to experience it's wake up kick you in the ass buzz for a very long time now. I really don't think Greenhouse seeds can pull it off. I think the chances are 1 to 1000000. Just a guess lol.

Gonna have to agree with the haters here. Greenhouse were some of the shittiest genetics I've ever run. Their "White Rhino" was so bad I had to just mulch it; tasted like burnt artichokes and hay. And I had 6 different phonos! ALL of them were crap. I seem to recall getting a batch of lemon skunk from them, too. More crap.

Just sayin'. I wouldn't buy from them ever again. Between losing the expense of the seeds as well as wasting the garden space growing their schwag I lost a lot of money on them. Never again.

Yep. Gh seeds are complete crap. Their trainwreck is/was a complete, well, train WRECK and not in a good way..maybe 17 years ago when the super silver haze was all the rage and they won some awards they were decent but now with all of the boutique AAA breeders and seeds available here state side they are garbage and losing market share by the buttload...arjan and Franco have lost any and all cred they might have ever had by selling complete garbage beans.

Super lemon haze is not garbage.
Hawaiian snow isn't either.
Smoking super critical right now very nice.
Super silver haze is still good, although a bit tall for me.

There are a half-a-dozen GHS strains that have consistently great reports, and I've had just as many keepers/stinkers as any other seedbank, at sometimes very low prices for guaranteed fem beans. Like a million other folks, you can have my SLH when you pry it from my cold dead hands, and even if that were their only achievement (which it isn't) 1 killer strain is what plenty of $100+ boutique seedbanks get by on. On the other hand, they surely have plenty of stinkers, and I've personally bought a few GHS varieties that I wish I hadn't...but not at any rate that was different from any other seedbank, as far as my experience goes.

To my eyes GHS is still suffering a bit from years of concentrated bad PR from Shanti (compounded by the fact that Arjan is obviously a major tool). That's faded a bit as Shanti revealed himself to also be a major tool, but I think GHS still suffers a bit from a double standard. I've seen many instances of a grower willing to pheno hunt through multiple packs of hundred dollar seeds, who will also dismisses GHS because a single freebie seed didn't grow to their expectations. Doesn't make sense to me, but buying cannabis seeds is a funny business, built on alternating layers of hard-earned loyalties and fabricated rumors, and we each have our favorites and/or grudges.

Exactly.
Seeds are a natural product, subject to variation- I have had great results from gh, and from many other companies- I have also had shit results from various seed companies, but I can admit that those results may be due to my own taste or mistakes I have made.
The only way to guarantee a plant that you like and grows how you want is by selecting and cloning.
