Greenhouse Seeds releasing "old school skunk"

I looked at the front page of greenhouse seeds website and it looks like theyve taken on an rks project. Sound interesting?

But we have to take into account that GH is jus starting to capitalize on 'buzz' words, or hyped clones..

They've done it with 'church', and they're doing it now with Cheese, and they seem to be doing it in the future with RKS..

I'll have to see at least 2-3 well known unbiased growers grow this before i'd even consider risking my time and $ (and u know it'll be alot) on any beans from GH..


I don't like talking shit about other breeders.. jus laying a few things out there that people may wanna think about before spending money at GH..


But, i will say, if they pull off a true 'old skewl' skunk, my hats off to em.. it'll be their 1st real contribution to growers :wink:

It's just so funny how everyone has been seeing tons of post in the last 6-8 months about members and people looking for the "RKS" or what i call "The American Skunk" line, let's see. The GH guys are sitting some where's smoking out and one of their staff or crew see's us posting here and other sites. They tell who ever that these people are going crazy for this skunk. HEY, why not throw something that smells a little strong on the market and cash in. That's how i see it any ways. If they do come out with it and it's the old school like a bunch of us are looking for, IE "RKS" I will openly Apologize to GH and everyone here, but for now a big

Though, being the devil's advocate. Someone most definitely has an rks and if I had it and wanted to make money and knew arjan was looking I'd sell it to him. The closest thing I ever got to a real skunk from a dutch company was a cutting from a 1999 pack of great white shark seeds (super skunk x white widow) I bet that super skunk mom used to breed it was probably a true skunk. One of the most important plants that luiz used in breeding his skunk was also a 2000 gws. Now whether the superskunk mom of gws has pungency to the degree that we all remember is another story. I don't have the experience trying to breed an american skunk to say how difficult it is but that stock is most definitely in existence and already true breeding. If someone has the resources to get a mass superskunk cut and do a huge grow of superskunk seeds to select a proper male I think they could get pretty close pretty quickly. Maybe I'm mistaken? I haven't grown out a greenhouse seed since that 1999 pack of gws and a pack of white widow I got with it and I have no intention of buying this but maybe they could pull it off

You also must remember that for good or bad Greenhouse seeds company has been one of the leading seed shops and outlets in Amsterdam, I know many growers who have shared genetics there over the years, especially in the early years. Arjan nearly ran me over on his way into work one day, must be nearly 20 years ago, listen, he was carrying a lot of seeds of many varieties with him that day and he still is today. Some of those lines from back then may contain very important genes worth sharing and saving. I personally have no doubts that they have original lines.

Greenhouse seeds has been through lots of changes along the way, but there is no doubt that this is one of the oldest of seed companies still in operation today and they undoubtedly do have a lot of very old if not original seed stocks. Let them do their work with those lines as they might just have many special treasures in the seed stocks, whatever they call it, if it is a pure, old skunk line it might just be very interesting and very important to preserve. So let the seeds and plants speak.

i used to love the greenhouse when they had all the top strains but now they do not
go to the coffeshop and see for yourself
