Yup, I tried two and no go. Will give them a month or two...in the meantime I could not resist sticking a couple of Purple Michoacan x Purple Oaxacan into the dirt just a half hour ago. I will let you know if any come up. :)
I guess Grape is one of those strains that their seeds need time to rest, sort a built in self preservation strategy that assures they don't come up in Fall only to be frozen. I have my stock in refrigeration, which also helps break dormancy, not sure how long they need to rest, I never really time checked them, but I usually wait about six months or so before trying to pop any fresh seed.
And me too on the Jarilla.
I am also very keen to see the purple Michoacan X Oaxacan.

Given the interest in Mandala Seeds, ie Ace Seeds/Green Mountain Seeds distributor, I wanted to update everyone on my recent order.

Placed the order Sunday, Oct 9. Received it today - day 24. I suspect ordering on Sun. delayed it a day or two. 21 days is common.

It comes registered (sig. required) and is packaged as a B-day present of incense. Seeds are in tiny vials. Order 5 Hon, they threw in 1 extra. Also included 1 of Ace's Bangi Haze (F).

My exp. over the years has been positive and I highly recommend them.

Why would you post how Mandala (or any seed shipper) conceals their contents for the entire world to see in the public domain? Good intentions but goodness gracious - facepalm.

Edit: I removed the photos. Didn't mean to cause anyone grief.
I’ve removed photos as suggested….

My crass delivery is aimed at both extreme ends of the spectrum; having to hide what should never have been made illegal & being way too revealing by way of becoming too comfortable with the content we post. Thanks for removing, shows character friend.
You just helped make the world a better place!
Even if it is just our little IC mag corner of the world.
You spoke your truth, which seemed abrupt?
but exposed your intellectual awareness and understanding side of your viewpoint and it just made us all aware and obviously evenly seemingly yourself? by your current response, there was no ill intent.
Hugs Hanzo!
PERFECT!!

Good move my friend. While not spelled out explicitly, its my feeling that discretion is a much appreciated character trait in these green pastures. Stick around, there's some real smart dedicated folks (old dudes!) about the place. Some of 'em can string a sentence together an' all! Some nice pictures too. Welcome aboard the good ship Fellow Traveller.

Hey Tex!
I believe if you set the seeds that did not pop back out in a dry cool place to dry off for about a week, put back in fridge to give them more rest time, They are not dead just still asleep. I am putting this out there for others who revieve fresh seeds and have issue. The one question I do have is, did you do paper towel or right into soil?
Also MIGreenman asked which is more potent, Green Mountain Grape or Zacatecas, maybe you can help?
Thank you in advance!

I just dropped 3 Fem Grape #3 and 3 Fem Grape #8 onto paper towel, they are at a constant 84 degrees F, I will let you know in three days!

Just to add to that back in the mid eighties I planted out some fresh Afghani like seeds I made I put a row of about 50 seeds along the edge of a 12 foot garden bed in Spring. Not one seed germinated that whole summer. The garden bed went through a solid freeze of 42 degrees North latitude winter! The following Spring as soon as the ground thawed the whole row of seedlings popped almost after a year later.

Yes!- I am stuck on what to start first- Swazi Gold, Zac Tribute or the grapes? Also wanted to add that the Zac Trib's came from Mandala. Ordered on Oct 30th and they arrived today. Excellent performance.

I hear ya! With the Grape I just stuck them in the soil and put them on a heat pad. But I'm sure they just need a little rest and some cold storage....as for the Purple Michoacan x Purple Oaxacan, I have three that just popped up and am waiting on the fourth. I had stored them in the fridge, so maybe just a couple of weeks was enough to give them some dormant time, or maybe these are particularly vigorous. I know I had a freshly picked seed right off a plant last year that I stuck in the soil and it immediately popped. So I guess they can vary, but I realize that many do need a dormant period and some cold storage.
