I sample at the plot with a dynavap.. dry it in the vape. Looks ready for energetic effect, depending on seedling. 2 out of 5 were really energetic for me last year, all chopped about that stage.
Wow, those pictures look like a lot of work to do! Glad that you are ok and I hope you didn't lose any plants. It's so hard to lose a plant right at the end of the season after caring for it all summer. The flooding can be so so bad in Vermont.Hello Every one!
Just got internet and hot water after over a week without.
So it is terrific to see all the wonderful posts here! After the storms with two floodings into my house so I have been very busy picking up the pieces. Luckily my house is still livable, though most of what was my neighbors house has filled my yard.
I just wanted to say. Thank you! all for sharing and keeping this thread vibrant and very much alive! I am again excited to see all of your successes and again appreciate everyone's support here, you have all been great!

Going to take her in the morning along with another plant and call it a season.
It's been a pleasure.

Look up your usda hardiness zone. Sow or transplant seedling after last frost date in your zone.Pretty sure I’m going to grow PS next year. I happen to be close to Vermont in a different state. Question, does anyone sow seeds directly in the ground? Or should I start in a small cup then transfer to ground? If so, when? Thx in advance.

I will add to what Vermontman says , if you don't want to start inside just start after danger of frost .There is plenty of growing season. Yes don't start right in the ground cut worms are a bitch. Small pots or cup with drainage holes are fine but not on the ground because of the worms and small critters, Up on a table till they have two or three sets of leaves before planting in the ground. Even in the ground you should have small cages around them for a while to prevent bunny and small critter attacks. If you really want to start early but not inside a small cold frame works great. Best of luck next season !Pretty sure I’m going to grow PS next year. I happen to be close to Vermont in a different state. Question, does anyone sow seeds directly in the ground?
