Both of my Zacateca Tributes are showing female hairs this morning. :)

I wouldn't have minded a male, but I do have Red Snake pollen saved, so I will definitely do a selective dusting when the time comes and see what comes of it. I am waiting on a Zipolite Oaxacan to show also and suspect it may be a male, so that would possibly be another nice cross...with all these cool Oaxacan genetics going I keep thinking of one more though that I need to get into the mix, and that would be Purple Satellite. Must start some this spring. ;)

Ah very good Tex!🤗🤗🤗
I am thrilled you have ladies! Sooooo looking forward to your posts of Zac and your other wonderful strain line up.

This one is at 6 weeks.
#1 has a citrus smell but not bright, kind of like an unripe fruit with a hint of sweetness in the background. #2 is very similar but with a bit more sweet/ candy background. I am anticipating 11 weeks but time will tell.

I will have to double check if you want a specific number. I have a behaviour and yes I am aware it is a little different but I don't like to use even numbers. Like always an odd # on the microwave or stove timer etc. I haven't checked in a while but I think she is running lights on for.11 hours 13 minutes.

I don't use anything in bottles except fulvic acid. I feel I get better aroma and cleaner effects this way. I use a base organic soil with oyster shell, basalt, dolomite lime, alfalfa, worm casting, and azomite. Feed pure water every 2nd or sometimes 3rd watering they get tea. In my mind this also helps with bringing out the most true form of the genetic profile.

Actually that's cool! Close enough Both the Hawaiian and the Mulanje Flower great well under or less than a 12/12 light schedule and your use of organics is commendable, In my base soil mix I use a lot of chicken poo, bone, blood, feather meal gypsum, dolomite lime, Magnesium Though I do not stick strictly organic, Dare I say? I use 1/8 teaspoon 20-20-20 in 3 gallons water regular watering schedule for veg and 1/8 Tsp 18 -58- 10 also in three gallons of water for first half of flowering as sort of a multi vitamin.

I'm growing in home made super soil with everything eyeballed, but moderate amounts of everything. Fish meal, fishbone meal, lobster and shrimp meal, oyster shell flour, kelp meal from the feed store, tons of worm castings, biochar, several different rock dusts, compost. Etc. Peat based with perlite and rice hulls for aeration. This has been recycled 10 times already and I only add kelp and castings now and then. Seems to work well although a touch hot at times for certain sensitive sativa's.

I water with well water and find I need to add a little cal-mag with each watering under these LED lights. I also mix in a little Recharge microbe mix and some molasses with most waterings.

Sounds like your plants have a nice buffet Texas. I like the eyeball method you use. People get really into the weeds with it. As long as your not messing with the PH to much everything else is like grandma's passed down kick ass recipes, a little of this, a pinch of that lol. I started using the azomite and basalt thinking it might somewhat mimic volcanic soil which I thought sativa's would like. After reading what you use Vman I might add some feather and bone meal to the recipe. I like the thought of that. I use molasis in my tea to get the mag and Ca. But have debated on purchasing some vit B with calmag in it. Build a soil also has a ( I can't recall the #'s) dry organic like 5-20-10 I have been considering. I guess the bottom line is I don't like the bottled nutes and stimulators over hyped and full of garbage they sell in the shops. Oh, I have also tried alfalfa sprout tea. Not sure if I notice a big difference though considering the effort to make it. All said, these PBB are awsome! Loving everything about them so far, aroma, vigor, structure just overall kick ass! Thanks V-man!! When I make the F2'S I am going to throw in my killer Malawi. I think they will make great parents! My PBB male I will be using has ( I don't know the technical term) very sharp serrated leaf edges and the fattest beefy stalk of the bunch. Last thing, I may drop the light down to finish. 10 hours 47 minutes on 🤔. Thanks again Vman, you rock!!!

Dammn Tex! Sounds like you got it down! I have to say I bought Calmag one time,it seem to me not to do anything that good old fashion Epson salts did not do for a fraction of he cost, and I am pretty sure Epson salt is mined organic. That takes care of the Magnesium which plants seem to use a bit more of especially during flower, and under LED lights, which I love! I think the plants get plenty of Calcium from the bone meal. feather and Dolomite lime stone, and often in the water itself. It also seemed to me when I use Calmag I ended up getting what seemed to be a nutrient lock up? I don't know why? And I know its big go to in the industry.
But hell if it's working great for you run with it, your overall recipe sounds stellar!
Oh Lester!
Thank you also for your wonderful post and you are most welcome!
On that same nutritional note remember if you are breeding plants for seed cannabis like every plant and animal when carrying offspring need that nutritional boost in order to form healthy seed that will remain viable for years, remember mom is not just eating or one! HAHA
You guys have been great!

I'm sure you are right...probably just need to add a little Epsom salt and maybe gypsum or dolomite lime. I don't bother testing for ph anymore and mostly have very few issues these days so I haven't bothered.

I am with you Tex. I never check PH and haven't noticed any problems. If your in organic soil nature takes care of it for us. Just ordered some GMG. Looking forward to experiencing the grape aroma and making IWE with it. ..

My orig MULANJE GOLD repro
Four ladies out of 5 for repro the 5th one threw a ball so compost Three look pretty standard but the odd squat one is Coming on fast with flower and trichs and smelling like super pineapple candy! I already today knocked up the five of her lowers, just under the red tie with a strong pungent boy.
Started outdoors Dec 19th. The other thing I am really liking about this early one is outdoors the top pistils were a cream/pink color the pink pistils have faded since I brought her in under lights.

Hello Mr pistil!
Awesome!!! I am thrilled you may have a young lady! I really look forward to your progress.
What kind of scents are you getting from your stem rub?

I’m getting a pine needle and menthol scent. Btw one is definite female. The other, a male, was culled.

Also, look what I got in the mail today:groupwave:

I haven't had issues so far but always trying to optimize. When feeding a seeded plant do you increase the nitrogen? I have never found info on optimal feeding for plants carrying seed. Thanks for your help!

  • vermontman 02-08-2022, 14:10
    Hey Lester!
Just keep a good balanced feeding regime for most of the plants life. higher nitrogen during veg in terms of chemical 20-20-20. During early flowering say the first 5 weeks after that lower the the nitrogen but don't cut it out completely in chemical fertilizer terms 9-58-10. and always use magnesium just a pinch in each watering, up until the last 2 weeks of flower then just plain water.
    Hope that helps

In terms of Organics use more Bone for potassium and phosphorous, Blood and chicken poo for nitrogen, Dolomite lime for calcium, and gypsum as a soil stabilizer.
  • In a standard sized wheel barrel fill with as much potting mix in as you can with ought spilling over while you mix with a spade. makes about 30 or so gallons of mix.
  • I use a 13.2 oz soup can to measure
  • 1/2 can bone meal
  • 1/2 can blood meal
  • 1/2 can lime
  • 1/2 can chicken poo
  • 1/2 can gypsum
  • Simply up potting with a mix rich in these organics by the first or second week into flower will carry them on for the remainder of the flower period. I find this bump up in pot size and extra mix at this stage greatly increases your buds size and density overall quality and of course yield!
And always add magnesium throughout the watering process I add about 1/16 of a teaspoon or just a pinch in a three gallon watering can and kelp will help with micros up to two weeks before harvest then just plain water.

OOOHHHOOOOO! Great news! I am definitely going to pop some Zacatecas Tribute this Spring, she is a great high yielding strain.
I may be looking at doing a Oaxacan x Mulanje cross again.
Anyway keep us posted!

No, planning to flower them this spring. My Zipolite Oaxacan are showing one boy and one girl, I'm pretty sure. So I might hit the ZTs with Zip pollen....for outdoor I want to run Purple Satellite again, and Freakshow. Maybe something else too. :)
