Syd Barret, Yes it could be done that way also. I'm only using four 105 watt CFL's and one LED light. They are only supplemental spectrum. I'm down one 600 watt transformer right now. I bye the universal digital transformers so I can go MH or HPS. The main cola of the GT is about beer bottle sized now. New growth is forming quickly and the calyx's are covering more each time I check her. Heavy Malawi influence with the strong earthy wet soil aroma. Some of my testers stopped by to see the girls. Unanimous, I want to try that one!!! Peace.

hey dubi , well after jogging my memory i went and retrieved what i had put away ..now some i cobbed and the rest i cured normally ..of this lot the cobbed was the weaker of the two ..i just think that it was too wet when it was cobbed ..it smelled , well , just off ! the other was quite extraordinary , a very clear ,uplifting high , like i was soaring ..hahahha , very , very nice ,,not for sharing with the masses ..lol..now i also cobbed some earlier GT and also some pineapple chunk ,, the GT of that lot was wonderful but the chunk was..is , bloody awesome , it has a sweet , sour fermented smell that's hard to stop sniffing it and is also very clear and soaring and smashes me for hours ..
strain specific ? no , i think it was just the process that i got wrong and needs attention ..
would i go with GT again , hhaha..fuck yeah , and overall all plants combined yielded quite ok ..it sure was a learning thing , i certainly over ferted these which set them back a lot , all organic but way too much N ..
cheers :tiphat:

Thanks rod58 for getting back to us after the curing :thank you:
I'm glad you found a very strong, yet soaring and uplifting pheno.
Yep, Golden Tiger doesn't need much N and can be easily overfeeded if you give her the same quantity of nutrients than to hybrids.

I dream of the day I get to grow even at 1/2 the pay. No price can compensate for passion. Best of luck with your grows. Peace

Well said farmerlion :)
Only the growers with passion, dedication and love for what they do are the ones who will produce the best flowers and breeds.

I really enjoy this lady. I will run several more next summer. I don't prune or FIM any plants. I try to let them be and grow in their own ways. This year they are hearing BB Kings Bluesville on Sirius 24 hours a day. Not sure if the plants care but the room feels good to me. The buds seem like they will be fairly dense. Wonderful plant dubi ! I see why your site is out of them currently. Will be getting more when available.:tiphat: 2 1/2 weeks from first pistils

Love the structure and type of flowering of your Golden Tiger, great job  Looks like she will explode, hope your close circle enjoy her! Maybe she is also intersting for your own breeding projects.

Yes, Golden Tiger is out of stock at the moment in both standard and fem format ( there should still be a few packs available through retailers). The reproductions are quite advanced so hopefully Golden Tiger will be back in standard format in November (re worked, following similar 'genetic recipe' to the previous fem version that had so much success). The new feminized stock should be available in January 2017, this one with exactly the same parental plants used in previous fem reproduction.

Kind regards!

Perhaps you already know this, but if you decrease the hours of light you give during flowering (for example 11/13 light/darkness), you also decrease the flowering time. This also decrease yield a little bit, but not that much. If you do this after the stretch, it decreases yield just a tiny amount.
I did this with Zamaldelica & without this "trick" I had 16 or 17 weeks flowering time. With this "trick" I had to wait 10 to 11 weeks to harvest. No noticeable difference in yield. I started with this from the beginning of flowering.

Siever

That's a very good point Siever

We also recommend to use 11/13 flowering photoperiods for our most tropical sativa strains, like for example the more thaish GT phenos, with 12/12 photoperiod they tend to stretch more, reflowering and delaying the harvest date.

I made a comment about the new Golden Tiger regular version being re worked in another thread, but guess this info is valuable also in the main Golden Tiger thread.

Previous Golden Tiger regular version (available from July 2014 until now) had more Malawi influence (Old Killer Malawi) and only contained one thai strain (Meao/Hmong from CBG), while the previous Golden Tiger feminized version (available in 2015 and 2016) is more thai dominant, this fem version contains 2 Thais: Hmong and Koh Chang, and our 2 best Malawi killer parental plants (old and new).

Both versions are VERY strong although i prefer the fem version (and i think most of the growers too) over the regular. Right now both Golden Tiger versions are out of stock. The new GT fem stock is being reproduced with exactly the same parental plants than in previous fem reproduction (i like to be consistent with the successful lines). The new regular stock is being reproduced following a 'formula' as close as possible to the fem hybrid: The 2 thais, Old Malawi Killer and a brother of the New Malawi Killer.

Short columner Golden Tiger

Short columner Golden Tiger

I have been holding off on cutting back the light cycle for another week. I have a couple (Ganesh, Snow Moon and a Kali China) in the same room as the more sativa dominant hybrids. Looking back I wish I would have veggitated this GT longer. I was worried about veggitative growth and height issues. This hasn't been an issue at all with any plants this year. I am running one more 600 watt HPS for a total of four. No plants are fighting for light. Only 14 total plants and they seem happy.https://www.icmag.com/ic/attachment.php?attachmentid=376940&stc=1&d=1473032487 I will definitely be getting more when available. Thanks Ace for the great experience as I'm learning sativas. Peace

Dubi, is there a way you could get the thai genetics from the GT and Destroyer and cross them? I don't know for sure if that would be Double Thai but the Thai phenos in GT are absolutely phenomenal. If that could be breed together then I assure you you would create world peace.

Here's mine before and during flower; I only kept one and this was the most Thai of the bunch. Exactly what I wanted;) She's the only plant in the tent showing a deficiency; little copper spots that eventually brown and "burn" the whole leaf from tips backward. Mostly affecting biggest/oldest leaves only. Opinions appreciated.

Here is a picture from this morning of my Golden Tiger. The light cycle in room is 11 / 13 for the last week now. The GT has some pistils dying back and new ones still growing. This plant didn't stretch at all. It has gained about 8" in height and just put on very dense weight. It's diameter is like a 1 liter coke bottle. It is about 17" tall from soil and all bud. The lower buds look to be growing into the main cola. (stout wedge) https://www.icmag.com/ic/attachment.php?attachmentid=378858&stc=1&d=1474400486 Have a great week Peace:tiphat:

GT fem indoors in natural lighting (in the shade). Was sown mid July, hasn't shown pistils yet. So,going for late January possibly (if she shows some resistance to cold / mould, room is very badly insulated)...
She has a little mutation on almost all leaves...Will tie her again in a few days, because available height is somewhat limited due to stealth reasons...

GT bends like rubber !So easy to manipulate and shape. In about a week those little branches on top will be tied, too.Horizontal space is no issue.

I thought some of the pistils on my GT were dying back. Turns out they were changing color to amber now. A week later and more amber pistils. Plant is still at 17" total height. She is still gaining weight but at a slow pace. Lower branches seem to be growing more than main cola. End of first week in October I'm planning on taking her down. Some other ladies should be ready about same time. Peace

rantan, I feel for you friend. I've missed on many I thought would be around forever. I try and buy now every time I have some left over after bills. In a few years I will have a stash of Ace genetics and be smiling! To help get you through until they are back in stock. Here is a picture of my GT. lol I missed on several Thais from Ace. I checked resellers and to see sold out across the bottom of picture about killed me. Peace

Congrats Syd, I'm going to chop a few tomorrow or by weekend for sure. Shortly I will have to live vicariously through other growers at Ace here until spring. Keep up the good work Syd! Peace
