Hey HL  ,
Plants are looking good. :joint: I've been nervous about deer too for the first time. They haven't bothered mine either but...I know they bed down @ 15 ft away..lol.. :yoinks:
Really psyched for this one.As a lot of others have said "Its something different!!" Hope to learn a lot from this one :woohoo:

Hi budluver! Normally I wouldn't start a thread, but because "Its something different", thought it would be worthwhile. Hope to generate more info on Africans.
At plot #1, when I started doing prep work my 2nd yr there, I noticed a skunk lair 15 ft away.I back filled the hole w/ excavation dirt from some new holes I dug, but they tunneled right through it. Ran into one packing stuff in one night. We both turned tail, and thankfully, he didn't lift his!
Once again this yr, I put my excavation dirt on the lair hole, and this yr no escape. Think it was abandoned, but anyway, this is the 1st yr I've seen deer signs in that area. Wondering if the skunks had kept them away in the past?
Anyway, it'll be a relief once they get bigger. So vulnerable now.

Yes it seems that lose interest once the plants are over 2.5 ft?? I LOVE skunks!!!
We have had a family living in our calf barn for ages.Generations worth I think..lol..You two probably could have coexisted fine. Its always a good thing to not have to find out!!

Hey highonthechroni, nice to have a S.A. grower checking in!

Snuck off to douse the plants w/ Neem Oil today, and low & behold there were pre-flower balls on a Congo and Nigerian @ plot #1. The Congo ones were huge! :yoinks: I'll be digging those two up and moving them for further evaluation. I had planned on taking cuttings end of june and using them as seed crops w/ the males I pick, playing it by ear (and eye!) on that one.
At plot #2, the Nigerian was showing pre-flower pistils! :woohoo:
I can't get over how early they are expressing! Stay tuned....:D

LOL :)

Sounds great. I ran into a skunk the other night comming back from a midnight planting. Scared the crap out of me when I realised what it was. I turned around and made a bunch of noise and then waited 5 minutes to leave. I hate getting surprised on dark trails.

LOL, muddy, better dreads than AK-47's. Talk about retribution!
"JuJu Music", believe it was the 1st U.S. domestic release. Saw Sunny a few times back then, early 80's.
Hope to see your Malawi & Swazi's down the road...:D

Hey Bacchus, what have you got going out there? Running any Cascadia's outside?

Lugged 4 gal. of fish fert early this A.M., 1/2 gal a plant for plot #1. Plot #2 tomorrow. Took a shot of the Congo balls. Got to get him moved this week before he gets much bigger.

I hope they turn out good for you, I wasnt very impressed with the durban high, dosent hit me right, its always either way too intense or not enough, it changes real fast after a big hit from way too much in your blood to just a bit out of it. I'm doing some sagarmatha inside after the other plants go outside, one confirmed female of 3 plants.

I was hoping to make Congo f2's, and maybe cross the Congo and Angolia X Banghi, let the Banghi genes hook up!

The Nigerian IBL males will be used as well I hope.

Just found out a relative will be staying w/ us this summer who isn't into marijuana at all. I've got to get all the cold frame gear out, haul more soil, and secure the indoor op before saturday. :frown:
This will mess me up no doubt. Was planning on keeping the males on my property, as well as a seed crop using cuttings. That's all out now. :badday:

Hola LMN! Gracias por fijar tan muchas fotografías maravillosasy el "Liamba conocido"! :D:yes:

Sativa Soul, thanks for such a great contribution! :respect:
Are those the product of a seed bank? Love the sugar on the leaves, and especially that 2nd shot w/ the pool of water caught in the leaves!
Deft, I bet you wouldn't turn that durban down!

Muddy, 365 is my number! (still have 'Aura' to do)

The 3 Early Durban's go out tonight + one last load of soil mix.

I mix one half this

w/ one half this (Carefully balanced blend of composted cow manure, sphagnum peat and humus)
along w/ a bucket of local chicken manure, (composted)
and 2 cups of this:

and that's how my garden grows! :D

Hey pato, thx for stopping by!

Some shots from today!

Nigerian girl, confirmed :D

Congo girl, confirmed :D

I brought out a magnifying glass, but not my reading glasses, and couldn't confirm sex on but a few, but believe I have 2 Congo girls, 3 males. Here's the male I'm keeping:

Two Congo bushes

The btm one seems to be male, the top, female.

The Nigerian's may just yield that one gal. :frown: I'm keeping two males.

The Power Malawi's looks like one gal, two guys. :frown:

This 'Cantarela' may be a boy. :frown:

Peace from the creeping jungle. :sasmokin:

I'll be making beans too. I feel it's an important thing to do, you just never know what the future holds.

Also, I read 20'Thai said he and others believe that seeded cannabis produces an enhanced high over sensimillia. I haven't grown a lot of seeded herb on purpose, but have really enjoyed the strains which I have. When I grew up all the herb we bought was full of seeds and I didn't mind it at all. De-seeding it was like a ritual for us, something which we enjoyed doing each time we got a new bag. Anyway, this year the Malawi will be pollenating their sisters, the Swazi, some Cambodians, and Golden Haze (A. Gold x Haze). I don't know if it will make any of them "better" or "worse", but I'm happy to see what they produce. I'll try to plant a Bubble Gum too if I get the chance to.

Most growers seem to favor crossing sativas with indicas, but the Golden Haze is a 100% sativa hybrid from Doc GreenThumb which I really like, so I figure "why not"?

peace,

Sounds like an interesting cross  But now, when we know you are going to get more males -> why not collect a good pollen sack from them to future´s projects?

Your plants seems to be healthy & vigorous, so it seems that your soilmix provides good soil for roots + Highlighter with watering can:)

Damn, it´s really annoying when you have to give up your safe yard gardening because of intolerant relative:(
People should respect other people´s choices and not judge them, at least so long when they dont pose a single treat to other humanbeings...

Take care Highlighter, im sure everything is going to be fine with your African garden!!!
